3 Bedrooms (queen, queen, 2 twins), Cathedral ceiling great room. Hot tub in sunroom. Fully equip ed kitchen. Fireplace. In the woods but 100 yards from Vermont Rt 30.
We are 'empty nesters' who have always had family in Vermont. Our children learned to ski at Bromley and now we look forward to teaching the grandchildren. Summers we are working on our fly-fishing skills and kayaking the many rivers and lakes.
Wendy Grey purchased this house in 2012
We loved the close proximity to Stratton and the house was very clean and in order. The beds are all incredibly comfortable and there are plenty of towels and blankets. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The woodshed was full of wood and it was easy to keep the fire going in the fabulous fireplace. It snowed quite a bit while we were there and the property manager came early and often to plow the driveway.
The house is nearer to the street than we expected, but is still pretty private. It would be awesome if there were curtains in the living room since it faces the street (even though there are trees you can see cars passing).
I would definitely stay here again and we really enjoyed our stay!
We just spent a weekend at this cozy house less than 15 mins from Stratton Mtn. There was plenty of space for us (2 adults and 3 kids), the kitchen was stocked well with utensils and cookware, the beds and bedding were REALLY comfortable and cozy, and the hot tub was perfect for our needs. Sid and Wendy did an excellent job of leaving very specific instructions on how to operate everything - hot tub, TV's, etc. Overall a very user friendly, cozy, Vermont experience and we hope to stay here again!
Very happy that we picked this home.. Had everything we need to make our ski vacation a good one. Hot tub was a plus after a long day of skiing.
We, two adults and two kids (10 and 7), spend 6 nights at Wendy and Sid's really nice house. The house was clean, everything was provided for, including a large stack of firewood and little sticks to get the fires started. Sid checked in with us to see if everything was OK and whether we had any questions. Our kids loved the house and so did we. The living room was pleasant, the beds were comfortable and the showers were excellent. We would love to come back next year. Highly recommended.
We just spent a 5-night stretch in this house that included Christmas, and it was outstanding. The house is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Kitchen is well stocked with cookware/utensils. Hot tub is a nice touch, and easy to manage; the very modern washer/dryer combo is also great to have. All bedding was clean, comfortable and attractive. The property is on a quiet dirt road; there are houses nearby but none encroach on a feeling of privacy at all. The back yard extends into woods that lead to a stream about 100 yards downhill (which you can see from the house). Other sections of the nearby woods have walkable trails. Skiing at Stratton is less than 15 minutes away, and we got to Killington in about an hour. Okemo is about 30 minutes. Manchester, VT is 25-30 minutes away and has a good selection of restaurants and shopping. The owners were friendly and responsive to questions in the lead-up to our arrival, and called to check and make sure we had all we needed the night we arrived - very easy to work with. We will absolutely stay here again - highly recommended!
