Hidden gem in the hills of Vermont
Jim and Linda
About Jim and Linda
We have lived in the area for 15 years and have fallen in love with all it has to offer. I'm originally from Iowa and grew up on a farm whereas my husband is a city boy who grew up in Connecticut. We found Vermont to be the perfect place to raise our family. We have a lot of pride of ownership and enjoying sharing it with others. It is special for us to have new guests to come and enjoy the outdoors and view for the first time. It truly is beautiful up on the hillside.
Jim and Linda purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Jim and Linda chose White River Junction
The location above the river valley offers a whole new perspective. The southwestern views magically. The road quiet and peaceful. Great for a little or long walk.. wonderful trails nearby. Very peaceful setting with wonderful air and water. Love the close proximity to the villages all with their own unique character and to Dartmouth College and Hanover, NH. Less than 10 minutes away.
What makes this Cabin unique
Nestled in the hills of Vermont this log cabin has a beautiful view of the valley. Set on top of a hill/mountain it offers breathtaking southwestern views. Wonderful place to start a day with the eastern light pouring thru the windows or the end of the day with the front southwestern view and changing of the colors in the sky after a great sunset. Peaceful, private and a wonderful place to relax and connect with Mother Nature. Not a great spot for those who don't enjoy the great outdoors. Much more a country setting. Coming back to nature.

Jim and Linda were outstanding hosts. We loved our stay in Vermont. We would definitely stay with them again if we find ourselves in the area again.
Beautiful getaway in the Upper Valley
A beautiful location and cabin-like setting with excellent hosts. Thank you Jim and Linda! Host dog Kobe is super sweet and friendly also.
We had a great last minute getaway at the cottage! We brought our dogs and it was Heaven for them to run around on all the property. There is a very friendly lab named Kobi on the property who they enjoyed playing with. The house is close to woodstock and we enjoyed exploring the town with our daughter. Jim and Linda were wonderful hosts and provide everything you could need- they were very responsive and just nice people. They even provided some Vermont treats upon arrival. It was a nice, relaxing escape and we would recommend their cottage!
If I could use emojis I would be using smiley faces, unicorns and rainbows, fireworks, thumbs up and hearts. This place is everything you need and more. Efficient and cozy, while also managing to be homey comfortable and tasteful. Local milk, cheese, coffee and eggs, just because. Perfect location for those visiting King Arthur Flour (our purpose for the visit to VT) or Dartmouth College. We also hiked Queche Gorge (spelling?), went antiquing, ate a fabulous dinner of fish and chips at Murphy's, had the BEST carrot cake ever at My Brigadiero, and enjoyed a really good salad and sandwich at Lou's.
Sadly, we did not get to meet the owners or their dog Kobe. Maybe next time.
Three of us came up on the Amtrak train to go to 3 classes at the King Arthur Cooking School. The cabin is quite close. We loved our stay. Linda and Jim couldn’t have been nicer. They helped us navigate the snow once we got our rental car, suggested Uber drivers on the days without a car, helped us eat the baked goods we produced with a smile and were just lovely people.
Highly recommend a stay at Linda’s VRBO. Comfortable, warm, a real Vermont experience.
Very quiet and gorgeous place
Quiet cabin with fantastic hosts/owners. Great access to trails nearby and close enough to towns to find things to do after hiking. They even put out treats for the dogs and are very dog friendly. Will definitely return.
Beautiful views and great trail system. Just off the Appalachian Trail. 4.5 miles to Hanover, New Hampshire - home to Ivy League Dartmouth College. Voted one of the best small towns in America. Right up the road from King Arthur Flour cooking classes and store. Wonderful museums and art venues close by - The Montshire, Ava Gallery, The Hood, The Hop, Tip Top and many more....
