About Carol

We are artists and academics who left the busy city to enjoy the beauty, tranquility, and fresh foods of the Hudson Valley. Being able to live in such a beautiful place, every season of the year, has been life changing, and we love sharing our property and guest cottage.

Carol purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Carol chose Hudson Valley

Our property was our dream. Set in the woods, with spacious meadows, adorned by established gardens, and a gushing year long creek was like finding the perfect place to create, live, and raise our family.

What makes this cottage unique

We love being here all year round! Every season is beautiful and offers new characteristics that blow us away every day. The stillness of snow falling, hoots of owls in the night, and the sounds of deer hoofs bounding through the woods are just a few of the little things we love about being here. We love being in a quiet place that is far enough away from busy lives, yet close enough to wonderful restaurants and events of New Paltz and Woodstock. We have access to every little things, and get to come home every night to this magical place.

Just what the Dr. ordered!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for a stress-free getaway for my wife and me...clean, comfortable, and quiet. Carol, the owner, lives next door but gives guests absolute privacy. When we did run into her, she was exceptionally friendly, provided great recommendations about where to go for dinner, and even gave us a gift! We are absolutely going to return.

Antique shops and yard sales abound in spring, summer and fall. Artisan shops, and farm stands for looking or enjoying all year long. Grand waterfalls a short walk from the house gives calming pleasure on your morning walk through the wooded trails. Fresh mountain air fills you up each day, even on those hot days of summer; a little dip in our gushing stream strips it all away. There's no real reason to leave the house, but if you really need to there's always something to see, a summer county fair to go to---pottery making and face painting, and golfing and skiing within a 20 minute car ride away. Other Activities: Roller skating, kayaking, canoeing, eating, farm stands, hay rides, fairs Ski: Belleayer Mountain- beginner/intermediate skiing- is within a 20 minute drive. Hunter Mountain-is a harder course- 40 minute drive.
