We are a couple of documentary filmmakers, with 2 young boys aged 8 and 5, who live a bit of a circus family life. We travel a lot, spending our time between Louisville and Phoenix, AZ. We LOVE coming back to Louisville and our home and gorgeous, friendly neighborhood.

The Highlands has many locally owned and independent restaurants, antiques shops, bars with live music, a natural food store, movie theatre, hardware, coffee shops, a skateboard shop, music stores, hair salons, wine and liquor shops, a bookstore, a brewpub, a musical instrument shop, tattoo shops, vintage clothes stores, a cigar shop, galleries, florists, a weekly farmers market, & ice-cream shops, etc. make up the eclectic mix along Bardstown Rd. that makes it a vibrant and fun place to stroll, dine, and live.
A lovely, comfortable 1900 square feet home away from home with all necessary amenities in Louisville's most sought after neighborhood. We love our sweet home, situated on a charming one block walking court, lined with blooming dogwood trees in spring and beautiful fall foliage in fall. Come take a load off and watch the world go by on our swing porch. Take a stroll through Cherokee Park, a 10 minute walk away. The park features hiking trails, bike trails, playgrounds, a scenic loop, golf course and more.
The home is very comfortable, with 3 bedrooms, plenty of closet space, spacious living area, separate dining area, off-street parking.

We had a great stay at this home in Louisville. The home is very spacious, clean and walking distance to Bardstown Road and Cherokee Park, my two favorite places in Louisville. Love the big front porch and porch swing! Perfect place to stay if you are coming to Louisville.

We loved your house! It was perfect for what we needed and in a really good location. It was far enough away from the night life that it was still a very quiet neighborhood, but close enough to walk there if you wanted to. We got to the Expo center in 10 min and felt we were close to just about everything! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We had 3 moms and 3 teenage daughters and we never felt crowded, even with the 2 full bathrooms, it worked out fine. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you for letting us stay there. :)
This home is ideal for enjoying Louisville and its surrounding neighborhoods. It was clean, well stocked, and perfect for a family of four.
This beautiful Highlands home was perfect for our family to get together for the weekend. It was well furnished, the kitchen had everything we needed, and was in a great location. The owner was prompt and helpful in all replies and very accommodating of our needs. Would definitely stay here again anytime and recommend highly.
We had a very nice time staying in this neat house in a fantastic neighborhood. The house is homey and very comfortable. The owner had a variety of flavored waters in the fridge as well as all the basic condiments and coffe. The beds were comfortable, the towels plush and the location is fantastic. The house is on a quiet street but just a few blocks from great restaurants, bars and boutiques. We enjoyed dinner nearby and then relaxing at the house. It was very convenient to get to the places we had to be each day. I would definitely stay here again.
We (3 adults and 2 children) were in town for a student activity at the convention center, and this home was conveniently located in that practical aspect. However, we fell in love with the place over and above its convenience to our task. The location/neighborhood is wonderful, the home is comfortable and so charming, and Chrisna was very responsive and welcoming. We would definitely stay again if traveling to Louisville!
We had a wonderful time staying at this home. We used to live in the neighborhood and we loved being able to walk to all of our old favorite places including coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream shops, and a wonderful farmer's market with the best omelets in the world. We will hopefully be back to stay at this house again. It is a very family friend place to stay and my two little boys appreciated the books and soccer balls. The only slight issues were some trouble with the lock box and the neighbor across the sidewalk getting fussy when a soccer ball was in the vicinity of her pachysandra. Overall, it was great though. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
The Neighborhood: The Highlands is THE best neighborhood in Louisville, centrally located, with lots to do within walking distance. We live on a lovely'walking street' - 2 rows of houses facing each other with a Dogwood tree lined walking court in between.
IMPORTANT: The house is situated in a residential neighborhood, with neighbors in close proximity. Please find a more suitable space if you are looking for a "party house."
Churchill Downs and Downtown, with museum row, Yum stadium, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Kentucky Center for the Arts and much much more, is just a short drive away. Near various bus routes. 2 blocks from buzzling, eclectic Bardtown Road with restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shops and 5 minutes from Cherokee Park, with hiking trails, children's playgrounds, golf course, scenic walking/cycling loop road.
