Walking to town is one of the pleasures of our location. Its approximately a 10 minute walk along the beach to the town. Stinson Beach can be sunny while the rest of the Coast is ''fogged in'' as there is a a wonderful micro-climate here
The Pacific can be quite cold for swimming and the surfers - who you can watch from the house- almost always wear wetsuits. Boogie boarding is a favorite sport and many intrepid surfers have gotten their start Boogie Boarding at Stinson Beach. Boogie Boards and wetsuits are available for rent in town and just down our street there is a rental shop .
The town is charming with cute restaurants and a children's playground with slides and swings. When you're ready for a hike there are wonderful hiking trails within 5 minutes of the house. One of the most famous is the Dipsea Trail which is a wondrous walk beside a running creek, beneath giant redwoods culminating in a 10 foot ladder climb - really breathtaking. Great beach-combing and shell collecting possibilities abound on the beach. We are also within easy driving distance of the Wine Country and many of our guests like to take a day for Wine Tasting during their stay.
From Stinson Beach its a one hour drive to San Francisco.or you can ride the Ferry from Sausalito or Larkspur to get to the City. Ferries run all day long and its a beautiful way to travel across the Bay.
