About Pam Fullerton

We live in Mass, mother of two kids. Growing up we rented a house in Franconia, NH and it was my fondest memories so when my kids came along I wanted to share that same experience with them. I have renters that have been renting the same weeks for the 12 years I have owned the house and it makes me feel good that they are creating their own memories at the lake house too.

Pam Fullerton purchased this house in 2002

Why Pam Fullerton chose Bridgton

It was built in 1930 the craftmanship was at its peak. It to me is the epitome of a Maine camp. I feel in love with the layout and location on the spot. I have a few summer renters that have been coming here longer

What makes this house unique

To have a boathouse on a property is are to find in Maine . We were told it is the most photographed boathouse in Cumberland County! It is kept locked all the time just to be on the safe side and deter kids from playing in it BUT if you have a boat or you plan to rent a boat please let me know and I can get you access to the boathouse

Lovely home in a great spot!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here a couple of times now and it is a lovely house. Plenty of space for a group, walk to town in five minutes and the lake is right there. We stayed in winter and it took us less than 10 minutes to get to Shawnee peak to ski. The kids love this house. It's not shiny or new but it's a lovely rustic home which is perfect for all seasons. The price is very fair for so much space. We will be back!

Quiet, clean and fantastic setting

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came up mid-week on the recommendation of a friend and it was a lovely weekend where we went paddling, walking in nearby Pondicherry Park, we swam, and hiked up Jockey Cap which provides beautiful views of the white mountains of New Hampshire and the lakes of Maine.

call me dissapointed- not what was promised

  • 2 of 5

I have had rented many great places on home away and VRBO in the past. Unfortunately this was not one.

We recently rented this property from Pam Fullerton. The lakeside setting was nice but the property was somewhat disappointing. During our stay we encountered too many examples of owner inattention. The place needs some upkeep what was billed as a quintessential lake house was really a large cabin.

Over the ensuing days we found The stove filthy with caked grease and food.the freezer had food caked in it. Many pans were greasy. dog hair was apparent in floor vents and was everywhere. We actually found dirty underwear and socks in bedding! Yuck.

On every day we seemed to be surprised with something else. One night we were awakened by some squirrels scattering around and nesting in blankets beside the big hole in the closet. At 4:30 am we were on the hunt with a net! The owner seemed unfazed and minimized our concerns.defensive is my best description of her.

The note on the refrigerator says the boathouse should not be used, though it is advertised as "for your use to tuck a boat in". A local builder said it should be condemned.

Admittedly I did not call the owner initially as some of the issues were not apparent until we started cooking or using bedding. I did email her and heard nothing for 2 days- possibly a wireless glitch but after the squirrel incident I called . The owner was defensive and said it was all my fault for not calling sooner- she kept saying I called on the 6th day . I assure you it was before that. She agreed to return a portion of the amount paid for cleaning and now has reneged on her agreement.

Though there were good times I would NOT recommend it. It is not as advertised , The property manager agreed that there are issues with owner and property.

Perhaps the place was a great place in years past but it needs a bit of love and the owner needs a lesson in being a responsive property owner.

Owner's Response: I pride myself on my attentiveness, kindness and quick response to my renters. I texted, called and emailed all week to see how her Sat to Sat rental was going. By Weds I even called my caretaker to go there and see if they were even there but no response back. On Thurs (6 days into the rental) I got a call from her that the cleaners missed the oven and there was some popsicle juice in the freezer. Had she called me on Sat I would have had the cleaners come right back and remedy those two items. She said to have them come back now would be too disruptive which I totally understood. I offered her $50 back and she wanted more. Her saying I was unfazed is wrong. The whole exchange has been extremely upsetting. She demanded her security deposit back when I actually never took a security deposit. I have taken up my concerns w/ VRBO As for my caretaker it is ironic that he supposedly said "there are issues with owner and property" . He is my first rental of every year! He loves the house and comes every June with his family. And of course the developer said the place should be condemned, it is one of the best spots on Highland Lake and I am sure he would love to get his hands on it. I keep the boathouse locked for safety reason but if someone is bringing a boat I will give them the combo. She rented a boat apparently for one day but never mentioned it. I would have gladly given her the combination had I known. Once she was ranting about "flying squirrels" I took caution because I wasn't sure what was real anymore or not, I would apologize for that although I have never seen one. The day she left I had another group come that afternoon. After their week they booked the house for 3 weeks next summer. The house has provided wonderful times for a lot of families and I care a lot about my renters and the house very much. Some of my renters have been coming longer than the 14 years I have owned the house. Admittedly our conversation did not go well when first thing out of her mouth was "if I were a lawyer I would sue you" definitely put me on the defensive. I am sorry they were not satisfied but had they let me know earlier than 6 days into an 8 day rental I would have rectified any and all issues they had right away. This has been a horrible experience and I am sorry we are using this forum to air our differences.

cozy family home

  • 5 of 5

I just want to first say thank you to Pam for sharing your wonderful home with us. What a blessing that vacation was to us and family. You have a great home. The view is amazing. The kids fished off the dock in front of the house everyday for hours. The kayaks were a big plus too! I loved that I could walk to all the antique shops and grab a smoothie at the new place down the street. We did not want to leave. I would recommend this to everyone. Thanks again and enjoy your summer. Rob and Jane Willwerth of Saugus MA

Great space for family reunion

  • 4 of 5

All 11 of us really enjoyed this Maine home. Bridgton is such a terrific town and we have vacationed here for many years. Lots of space for all of us with plenty of room to be alone, too. Pam was very helpful with any issues that arrived...there weren't very many!! The lake was wonderful and we were able to truly enjoy family time. The place could use some updating but for a Maine "cabin" it was very good. The place was clean and well maintained. The listing description was accurate.
