Excellent apartment in good location

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Amsterdam and the apartment is exactly as it is described. It is in a good location and we found it easy to explore by foot or using the trams; it was ideal as it was close enough to the usual tourist areas but far enough away to wander around some residential areas and gain a better insight into the city. The owner was very helpful and arranged transport for us from the airport. We recommend this property.

A enjoyable stay

  • 4 of 5

The property was just as advertised. Close to the Central Train Station and overlooking a canal. We had some difficulty locating the address; mainly due to an apparent aversion by the Dutch to issue accurate, detailed maps as well as using street names that are too similar for us Americans to distinguish! However, once found, it turned out to be in a great location. We were even able to walk to the museum campus in about 40 minutes. The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and it comfortably fit the four of us. We even found a couple of outlet adapters that allowed us to charge our US devices. WiFi/Internet was fast and reliable, and the property owner/manager was very prompt in responding to emails.

The only suggestion we had would be to post instructions for calling the US equivalent of 911 in case there were a problem. Had we needed Medical or Police, we wouldn't have had a clue about how to proceed. It would also be helpful if there were some kind of instructions relating to how to get to the Airport. We were able to figure it out after reviewing several iterations of Google Maps - which wasn't all that forthcoming with the easiest way to go. Google Maps originally had us taking several buses, or taking the Metro and changing to a bus. We finally discovered that several trains an hour went directly from the Central Station to the Airport in 1/3 the time and half the cost of the other ways.

To sum it up, I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in Amsterdam.

Lovely place!

  • 5 of 5

Recently we stayed in Amsterdam at the apartment De Admiraal. It was perfect for our family. Very comfortable, easy to get around, close to the things we wanted to see. There is a great bakery near by where we bought fresh baked goods in the morning, and we had a delicious dinner at Eenvistweevis just steps away from the apartment. I would absolutely recommend this apartment!

Lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was lovely!

The logistics around accessing the property were very easy. A neighbor came outside and met our taxi and gave us access to the property right away, along with a brief overview of the apartment. She also answered a few questions we had.

The location was very good - it's not right in the center of everything, but it's close enough that you can walk or if you prefer not to walk, there are a couple of tram stops that are conveniently located. It's in a quiet area, but there are a few restaurants and a small store close to the apartment.

The apartment itself was very nice - seemed newly renovated. There are 3 floors - you enter into a floor that has a kitchen and a dining room. If you go upstairs, there is a living room and downstairs are bedrooms and the bathroom. One thing to note - there are some pretty intense (steep) stairs to go both up and down stairs. There were child gates in the apartment as a safety measure, but they weren't set up when we came in and the person that met us (a neighbor) didn't quite know how to work them. In the end, we got the gates set up, got used to the stairs and all was fine. The one suggestion I would make is to have those already set up, especially when people comment that they will have small children with them.

Overall, it was a very good stay and I would definitely recommend this property.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I visited Amsterdam with my boyfriend and another couple. We had an early flight and were able to check in to the apartment around 12. We were greeted by the owner who gave us a tour and showed us how everything worked. The apartment was a perfect base for us. Completely as described and as the pictures suggest. There is a supermarket (Spar) literally around the corner and pubs either side. It is a nice quiet neighbourhood. It is a 10-15 minute walk in to the thick of the town. The apartment is perfect for those who like staying just outside the noisy town but have access to everything basically on their door step. The only thing was that no towels were provided, I maybe shouldn't have presumed that they would be but it didn't matter as we just bought some from a shop down the road. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your wonderful apartment. If I visit Amsterdam again this is where I will be staying.

Nice property in good location

  • 4 of 5

My wife, 2 teenage daughters and I had a lovely stay here. The property is comfortable, clean and well equipped. It is not bang in the centre, but the neighbourhood is good with great public transport links meaning you are only 10-15 minute away from the main sights. The host was very welcoming and professional.
