The Crockett House is less than ten minutes from downtown Frankfort, many restaurants and several shopping centers. It is five minutes from I-64 and makes a perfect rendezvous spot for family or friends. Surrounded by 53 acres of pasture and woodlands, the property makes a peaceful retreat. From the large screen porch, one can listen to nearby Armstrong Creek and watch deer and turkey move in and out of the woods. Parts of the two-story frontier home were built in 1825. It retains much of its original woodwork, including the staircase and board and batten doors. The entire house was tastefully remodeled in 2008.

We are a retired teacher and mental health professional. We bought the Crockett House and farm at auction. We lovingly remodeled the house and planted a vineyard in 2008. September is harvest time. We sell our Vidal Blanc grapes to local wineries.
Sara and Jim Call purchased this farmhouse in 2007
The farm is such a beautiful spot. We enjoy it ourselves and love making it available for others to enjoy.
The outside world seems far removed as you drive down the lane to the farmhouse. Deer are frequent visitors in the evening and sometimes a flock of turkeys can be seen walking by the creek.
This home is just as they say a "peaceful retreat". We enjoyed the property, sitting in the screened in porch in the morning and evening with coffee or wine and watching the wildlife, turkeys & deer out in the meadow behind the home. Very comfortable home and filled with all the amenities that we needed. Would definitely recommend this home to others to enjoy the northern Kentucky area. We enjoyed traveling the Bourbon trail and this home was between all the distilleries and made traveling to all of them easy. Thank you Sara & Jim for sharing this lovely property.
We used the house for a mid point location for doing a tour of the Bourbon country and it was just perfect! Quintessential Kentucky farm house. Lots of land around the property, so the privacy was amazing, yet you were really close to jump on the main highway to towns. Home was furnished beautifully and was very comfortable. The owners were quick to help answer questions in advance of our visit. I would highly recommend this property!
My family and I recently spent 3 days at the Crockett House. Is was everything the description said it was and more! From 2 years old to 66 years old, we all loved it. The children loved playing in the yard and fields. We all loved seeing the deer and turkeys. We took tons of pictures! The house was nicely furnished and we had plenty of room. Even with the nice updates, the house has retained it's historical farmhouse charm. It is located near many of Frankfort's attractions. We were sad to leave, but hopefully we can visit again soon!
My family and I recently enjoyed a three day stay at the Crockett House. We loved everything about our stay. The house was everything it was described to be and more! This is a great place for all ages! Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer! Hopefully we can return soon!
This is our third year renting the farmhouse and we plan to be back next year for year four. The house is a great venue for our annual girls getaway. We love the space and the opportunity it provides for us all to be in one space and location during our annual college homecoming weekend. The house is located on a beautiful parcel of land and has all the amenities and comforts of home. This house is off the beaten path but close enough for us to get around town for our events during the weekend.
We (3-senior couples) stayed in this great country home for 5-nights (Sept. 23-28, 2016) and just loved it. We flew into Nashville and stayed there for 5-nights before coming up to Frankfort to the Crockett House and then we traveled to Pigeon Forge,TN for a week. This was our first visit to the Tenn. & Kentucky area, so we wanted to see it all.
We found the Crockett House to be the perfect central location for seeing the Kentucky area. We visited Churchill Downs in Louisville, The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, The Horse Farm in Lexington, Shaker town in Lexington, and the Mammoth Caves, Corvette Museum and assembly plant in Bowling Green.(+ the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort with free samples)
Home base at the Crockett House was perfect. We are from the Seattle,WA area, and If we ever get back to Kentucky, we will definitely try to stay here again.
The house was very well furnished and "super" clean. We had our breakfast every morning out on the screened in porch, so we could watch the 5-7 deer graze in the back yard. After a busy day site seeing, coming home to this quiet setting was very relaxing. Lots of restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. only about 3-4-miles down the road.
Overall, If your looking for a great house in a great location, you can't beat the Crockett House. The pictures of the home and the property descriptions were right on. Jim and Sara were quick to answer any questions we had and the damage deposit was returned in less than 1-week. Crockett House = 5-star rating.
