Island Time

Ahhh. The property opened to a walkway/alley which led to the water or the street. Although it was not actually on the beach it was conveniently located. Easy access to the beaches, restaurants, french bakery (chocolate croissants!). Even the Grand Case airport was within walking distance. Everything we wanted including snorkeling, kayaking, boat tours, churches, shopping was at our fingertips. The house was basic, but provided everything we needed. Big bonus was a washer and dryer. Internet service in the house was good. Even though we arrived late Tony came right over, let us in, showed us around and made sure we were comfortable. The only negative was a prominent smell of moth balls.

My Paradise vacation in Grand Case

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son and I spent a wonderful week at this property August 2013. We felt very lucky because the property is newly renovated, spacious and comfortable. The house has an open, airy upstairs bedroom with lots of light, cable TV, and internet access. Downstairs is a spacious room with a large full service kitchen, dish washer and washer and dryer. If u are looking for relaxed, clean accommodations, and convenient easy access to all that Grand Case and the French side has to offer, this place is great! The management attends to detail and is highly responsive.

One of my favorite rituals is to walk towards the beach at the end of the street (approximately 75 feet) and sit on a huge rock to watch the sun set and see the night lights come up on the neighboring island of Anguilla. This quaint property is walking distance to all the fun: a local park with a basketball court and soccer field, beach Lo-Los (the local barbecue food stands), and fine dining restaurants. I also enjoyed walking to the bakery each morning to get fresh, warm bread and croissants, and fresh pastries in the evening.

We have vacationed in Grand Case area for over 20 years. We feel safe there, and have enjoyed the beaches on the French side. We were able to walk to some of our old favorite restaurants, like Spiga, Le Testavin, Fishpot, and other delicious fine restaurants. We also discovered and enjoyed two new tasteful Creole restaurants a short drive away. There are numerous local fruit and spice markets a short distance away. My son convinced us to buy him a fishing pole at the big American Market supermarket, and he walked from the house to Grand Case beach to go fishing every day.

The highlight of our stay at this property is that after spending a week in a resort on the Dutch side, we had a more intimate experience staying in Grand Case. Many locals and tourists alike usually go to Grand Case for dinner. It was nice to walk to the restaurants and not worry about drinking and driving. I will be making this a regular part of my St. Maarten/St Martin experience! Highly recommended.

Loved the Beach

  • 5 of 5

This property is great for a family of 4. My kids really enjoyed their stay. The washer and dryer made it very convenient when we returned from the beach to wash our sandy clothes. The wifi worked really well my kids were able to use their i pads. We were able to walk to all the stores and shops. The authentic restaurants were great.

Thanks for a great vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was a very nice rental vacation. The house is very clean, the kitchen very modern, the bathroom renovated, and everything is tastefully decorated.

There are plenty of bath towels provided, as well as a fully equipped kitchen.

The beach is one of the best on the island, very private, not the touristy crowds, which is perfect for a sporty/quiet vacation. The restaurants (expensive high-end but delicious French restaurant as well as the cheap local delicious grill) are literally 5 min walk away. Tennis facilities are 5 min away by car (search on Google for the American Tennis Academy in French St-Martin/Cul-De-Sac) and very convenient, have 2 great courts, refreshments, sports boutique, have hourly to weekly rates, and great staff.

Location

Car: recommended

Located in the small fishing village of Grand Case, St. Martin along a beautiful stretch of white sandy beach. Perfect for long romantic walks, either in the morning to pick up a fresh baguette or in the evening to watch the sunset.

Along the turquoise water and the fine sandy beach, the quaint village of Grand Case is renowned for its unique sunsets, its gourmet and local restaurants, its shops and its various sport and cultural activities

No site on the whole island has more West Indies charm than this bay, without being far from everything. Marigot is 10 min away, the famous Baie Orientale Beach is 5 min away, Philipsburg is 20 min away and the Grand Case airport is very close, so it's easy to rent a car.

Few minutes walk to the beach and village,

After taking your time to get prepared in this spacious bedroom and after a little walk, you will choose one of the many restaurants of this village called the gourmet capital of the island, and before getting back to your guest house, you can eather go on for a night life casino pubs etc…

Perfect sunbathing ambiance for those who love beauty and tranquillity by beeing close to all night activities

Just outside your door enjoy walking up the quiet street to a choice of over 30 gourmet restaurants including French, Creole, Italian and Fresh Seafood. There are many French boutiques to shop in or you may choose to have a cocktail at one of the beach bars along the sea. It is only a short drive to Orient Beach, which is considered the French Riviera of the Caribbean! It offers many water sports and restaurants with French and American cuisine directly on the beach.
