About Christopher Stienon
We are an architect and an artist with two older children. We both work from home. We love New York City and know where to find things and what to visit in Brooklyn and Manhattan. We have all traveled extensively around world so are aware of what's needed when staying in a new location. We are a bilingual home speaking both French and English. There are two cats in the house, but they stay upstairs.
Christopher Stienon purchased this Apartment in 2001
Why Christopher Stienon chose Fort Greene
Fort Greene and the surrounding neighborhoods have become quite trendy as of late and the block is part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music historic district. Aside from the character of the neighborhood, we have tremendous subway access which makes our location In Brooklyn closer to key destinations in Lower Manhattan, Soho and Greenwich Village than those who live in the upper East and West sides of Manhattan.
What makes this Apartment unique
We are right around the corner from the Brooklyn Academy of Music which offers a unique program of avant-garde and modern performances by many leading artists and performers from around the world. There are several restaurants in the area, as well as boutique clothing and art stores.

Very convenient location.
We enjoyed our stay in the Fort Greene area of Brooklyn. The apartment was well located for shopping and close to subway stations. The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to have access to the backyard. Communication with the owner was easy.
The apartment was very nice, clean, and well stocked. We slept 4 comfortably thanks to the owner adding an extra cot! Location ended up being the big bonus...we were a 5-minute walk to the Barclays Center and a subway hub. In and out of Manhattan was very easy. We were able to park our car on the street...saving a lot of $$. Owners were very nice and maintained good communication throughout the entire process. Highly recommend this apartment.
excellent apartment in close proximity of Atlantic Terminal and Fulton St subways - and buses and 2 minutes from grocery shopping at stop and shop - perfect if you can't walk up stoop and then more steps - we will visit again. Very nice owners-we just were very comfortable and safe staying here
My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks. It was a great experience. Although a mere two-minute walk from many subway lines and buses, the apartment was quiet and peaceful. Extremely clean. The queen-size bed is comfortable. The owners were very helpful, friendly, gracious, and always willing to answer questions. I felt quite safe. The apartment is in a great location (near wonderful restaurants, BAM, subways, food shopping). I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and rent the apartment again.
This garden apartment is very clean and in a very nice neighborhood; very near the Atlantic metro station (trains and subway) which made it very easy to get into Manhattan and back again. We never heard street nor neighbor noise unless we had the back door open, and then it was minimum. The owners helped us with finding groceries, providing a map of the area, and were very personable and pleasant to talk with. Christopher is very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the area. A nearby grocery store, Provisions, was wonderful, along with its sister wine shop just down the street (The Green Grape). Although the "garden" is accessible, the owners acknowledge that an upgrade is forthcoming (a long-term tenant recently vacated now giving the owners inspiration to garden). It is a roomy apartment with lots of hangers and a large bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and everything in the apartment was in great condition. We had a great walk around the Fort Greene neighborhood enjoying the park nearby. We would stay here again.
There are many restaurants nearby in Fort Greene as well as local fashion stores and a shopping mall. The Brooklyn Academy of Music is right around the corner and the new Barclay's Arena is a block away.
