Gulf And Bay Views From This 4 Bedroom, 2 Bath Beach House

Please call 409-502-2719 with any question or clarifications on the home prior to booking online. Thank you.

This modern 4-bedroom, 2-bath beach house sleeps 10-12 people. A covered deck spanning the first floor is the perfect place to relax and leave the daily grind behind. Located on the far west end of Galveston Island in the beachside neighborhood of Pointe San Luis, the shore is only a block away. The home of the Ridley sea turtle, the beach is restricted and with no motorized vehicles allowed,

Sunlight and views of the gulf pour through the front windows and the open concept living area boasts plenty of comfortable seating, a queen sleeper sofa and feather throw pillows, a 42” flat screen (not shown), DVD player, cable, and Wi-Fi. Games, books, and throws can be found tucked in the shelves and end tables. Ceiling fans in every room for added comfort.

An electric fireplace allows you to enjoy the ambience with or without the heat. A special play nook for the kiddies is tucked under the staircase, allowing them to play and still be a part of the group. Louvered doors in the hallway hide the full size washer and dryer.

The modern kitchen has custom cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. It is fully equipped with everything you need including stainless steel cookware, dishes, glasses, cutlery, bake ware, serving pieces and plenty of fun extras. Small appliances include coffeemaker, toaster, blender, electric griddle, flip waffle- maker, crock pots, and hand mixer. The pass thru bar is a great place for breakfast or snacking. The adjoining dining area seats six and has a bay window with a view of the gulf. On the deck is a table that seats six for outdoor dining. A high chair and tv trays are stored beside the serving table for your convenience.

While on vacation, I spent too many nights on uncomfortable mattresses, so when we furnished Sea Dreams, we chose quality beds and topped them with memory foam toppers to help insure a good night’s sleep. Beds have either quilts or matelesse spreads for comfort. Additional blankets and pillows can be found in the closets or drawers. Every bedroom has a palm leaf ceiling fan.

Downstairs bedroom 1 is bright and airy with a comfortable king sleigh bed with rainbow quilt. Downstairs bedroom 2 is a favorite with two twin beds in dark wood with aqua colored spreads. Upstairs bedroom 3 is the captain’s quarters done in blues, whites and red with an iron king

bed and tv. The private deck has two rockers and a perfect view of the waves. Upstairs Bedroom 4 sleeps up to four people with 2 twin beds and a daybed with trundle. Its

cool relaxing colors, window views of the distant bay, and tv make it a perfect upstairs haven.

Downstairs bathroom has double sinks and a large walk-in shower. Upstairs bathroom has a large jetted tub with a separate walk-in shower. Both bathrooms have marble counters and tub/shower surrounds and wall mounted hair dryers.

The ground level boasts an outdoor shower with hot/cold water, two picnic tables and a grill. This is the perfect place for a family cookout.

Community Pool and picnic pavilion are on the bayside and can be accessed via the golf cart tunnel directly behind Sea Dreams or you can hop in your car and make the short drive across the road. Pool hours are seasonal and no lifeguard is provided.

About Coastal Waves Vacations

Native Houstonian north siders, Bill and I have lived, worked, and raised a family in Texas, being blessed with four children and six grandchildren. Opposites, Bill enjoys hunting, fishing and the outdoors. I am a writer, reader and appreciate nature if a flush toilet is availabe. We both love history, live music, a good story and a great punchline.. Life is to be enjoyed.

Coastal Waves Vacations purchased this house in 2011

Why Coastal Waves Vacations chose Galveston

Bill and I have close ties and family memories of Galveston, My husband's family is on the recorded census for 1895 Galveston and his mom graduated from Ball High in the 1930s My grandfather was stationed at Fort Crockett in WWI and courted my grandmother in front of the newly built Galvez Hotel.

Growing up, Bill and I spent many a summer day in Galveston with family and friends, so after over 15 years of planning, we built our second home in Pointe San Luis. There is always something happening in Galveston, always something to do, something to see. It is a place that is both alive and peaceful. We hope to retire to the beach, but in the meantime, we have a home we enjoy sharing. Some our warm-fuzziest moments are when visitors tell us they loved the house and had such a relaxing, wonderful time.

What makes this house unique

Views from all the windows and decks is what we love most about the house. Waves, water and sand backdrop the living-dining area throught the wall of windows. The covered deck is where everyone hangs out, watching the waves, listening to the surf and enjoying the breezes. We fight over the large padded bench with the best view and big enough for a nap. The upstairs master has a private deck with two rocking chairs and a panoramic view of the gulf. There's no better place for a cup of coffee and a good book. The bedrooms at the reat of the house all have views of the bay.

Cool blues, arched walls, and Juliet balcony at the top of the stairs makes this our favorite. We wanted the kids to be able to play and still be a part of the family, so we designed a play nook under the stairs and stocked it with classic toys, books, and games. Our grandkids love it.

We designed every space and detail to make this a comfortable home that was beuutiful yet relaxing. People who visit don't want to leave. What a great compliment!

From nature to history to water slides and roller coasters, Galveston has something for everyone, young to old. This is only part of our love affair with the island. Family history and childhood memories called to us and we built Sea Dreams. With so much to do and so much to see, we thought it would help to have a starting point, so on the bar you will find a fun map laying out the island and attraction locations. Stop by the visitors center in Ashton Villa for information, coupons, and friendly staff that can direct you.

After you enjoy the beaches, the surf, the breezes and the attractions, get to know the real Galveston too. Did you know that Galveston was the home of pirate Jean Lafitte? Was once known as the Wall Street of the South? Was the port that second only to Ellis Island processed the most immigrants? Is the location of the worst natural disaster in the U.S.? (The Great Storm of 1900.) That the entire city was raised and the seawall built, one of the greatest engineering feats in history? Is the second most haunted city in the U.S?. (New Orleans is the most.) Has one of the few tall ships still sailing? (The Elissa) And there is more, so much more.

Beaches, sand, surf, gulf breezes, castle building, shell hunting, wave riding, kite flying are just a start. Grab your flashlight and see the beach critters that come out at night! Keep an eye out for Riddley turtles.

Near the west end, you will find horse back riding on the beach at S n G Stables, Magic Carpet miniature golf, bungee drop, batting cages, kayaking in the bay for children and adults at Artist Boat. Fishing from the shore or a local pier can product anything from a bull Red to a trout. Charter and bay fishing trips are also available.

Take a picnic lunch and head to Schlitterbahn, relax in the winding river, hit the wave pool, brave the water slides, tube shoots, and boogie boards. This park has an indoor section that is open weekends, year round.

Pleasure Pier, with its roller coasters, Ferris wheel, midway, carnival rides, and fun food, is a must. Recently built to replace the original lost in Hurricane Carla in the early 1960s, this is a family oriented venue with a dress code and security.

If you drive in via I45, the pyramids you see across the bay belong to Moody Gardens. Enjoy a rare, up-close experience with free-roaming Saki Monkeys, beautiful macaws and other endangered animals and plants at the Rainforest Pyramid®. Escape to the South Atlantic, Pacific or Caribbean in peaceful tranquility with playful penguins, seals, sharks and bountiful tropical fish at the Aquarium Pyramid®. Celebrate the mysteries of science at the Discovery Museum. Feel the white sand between your toes at Palm Beach where a summer adventure and a lazy river await. Next, embark on a Colonel Paddlewheel Boat cruise or a new challenge at the Moody Gardens Golf Course.

Spend an afternoon on the Seawall, pedaling a covered surrey, enjoying a hamburger at The Spot with a view of the beach crowd with the colorful umbrellas, bikinis, grandmothers and toddlers. Ice cream, souvenir shops, hotels, restaurants, this is the tourist scene. Visit the hurricane survivor statue on Seawall that was famous in the media as waves crashed over it.

Drive to the east end and enjoy a free ride on the Bolivar ferry. Park your car and walk on, it is much faster. Dolphins are often seen from the deck and pelicans usually perch on the pilings at the landings.

A visit to The Strand and Post Office streets are a must. Finish off your shopping with a visit to La Kings for handmade candy or an ice cream treat and admire the beautiful antique counter. On Post Office, visit the Rene Wiley gallery, Mod Coffee shop, the Witchery, the Naked Mermaid, and the Gumbo Bar. Don't miss the official opera house of Texas, The Grand 1894, which hosts local to international stars, in a smaller venue. If you get the opportunity to attend an event there, take it.

Move over to Harborside Drive and check out the Seaport Museum, the Elissa, the documentary The Great Storm, and harbor tours. If you want to see a working drilling platform, visit the Star.

Take a drive through old Galveston and appreciate the Victorian architecture, the post Ike tree sculptures, and the famous churches.

Seawolf Park features a 3-story pavilion, the USS CAVALLA (WWII Submarine) ; the USS STEWART (destroyer escort - one of only 3 in the world); a Fishing Pier ; and a Playground. The park was built on an immigration station site and offers a three-story pavilion with a view of Galveston harbor, picnic sites, a playground area and a lighted fishing pier.

Galveston hosts numerous festivals, special events, and ongoing local events. Check at www.galveston.com

This scratches the surface of things to do, but I hope it gives you a starting point. Please enjoy your Island Time.

This home was truly a dream! The inside and the location was perfect, truly a hidden treasure!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our five children and mother-in-law stayed at the sea dreams home for about a week. The home definitely exceeded our expectations! It had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen including a CanOpener. All the rooms were beautiful exactly like in the pictures. And the beach view from the upstairs master bedroom balcony is incredible! The first day I just stood there with tears in my eyes. Also, my children loved all the family games that are provided in the home, made for great family game time at night. Oh and we had no problems with the Wi-Fi it worked great.

Furthermore, if you enjoy privacy like my husband does this home is perfect. It is in a very peaceful quiet neighborhood. Also the private beach, which I believe is just for that neighborhood because there was never a whole lot of people there, is A short walk away from the house. My five kids and I walk there easily. My kids also love the community pool. We had a wonderful time in this very comfortable home and would definitely recommend it and consider staying there again. Thank you ocean waves vacations for making our first family beach vacation awesome!

Lovely house/location, loud alarm/lights that were never resolved

  • 3 of 5

Pros: For the most part, we loved the house and the location. We appreciated the thoughtful accommodation of our requests from the owner/management company. Even on the 4th of July weekend, the beach and house were relaxing. The bedrooms were also very nice with comfortable beds. The covered porch and beach view were wonderful!

Con: The only serious issue that we were not expecting and that was not resolved during our stay is that there were flashing red lights with an alarm that first went off ~10:30pm on our first night on the second balcony right outside of the master bedroom. We called the emergency line and they said they had no record of this system on file, but would call the owners and send someone out the next morning. No one ever came, and the issue was not resolved while we were there. We checked out the source the next morning and it appears to be a system to keep animals (birds?) away. However, for us, it disturbed our sleep and was pretty alarming that first night.

Nice location, but expected more for the price

  • 2 of 5

Beautiful location, loved the neighborhood and home. But the little things negelected made us leave expecting more. Never could find the internet signal - a password but no network specified. Unable to easily reach the property manager - There was no contact info left in the reservation. The home didn't have a can opener either and at the worst time we had to go out and buy one. Lovely place but not as well managed as I would have hoped.
