Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Savigny-lès-Beaune - CHANDON de BRIAILLES

2 bedrooms (5 sleeping max), 2 bathrooms, living, dining and kitchen.

Situated in the heart of the Côte d'Or Burgundian wine region, only 4kms away from the central village of Beaune, lies the Domaine Chandon de Briailles, a family-owned wine domaine and historical late 17th century property. Our gîte is an extension of the original buildings of the chateau, and stretching behind the property you find the gardens and park, designed by the same landscape architect as the Château de Versailles.

The gîte is equipped with a spacious living, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor, with a fireplace and small toilette. On the first floor, you find 2 bedrooms with bathroom attached, 5 beds in total.

There is a flower-lined courtyard which can be used as a parking space and dining area in summer, with a large table and umbrella.

gîte charmant dans un chateau en bourgogne

  • 5 of 5

Un gîte dans un chateau classé de bourgogne

au coeur du village typique de savigny les beaune ;

merci encore !

A Wonderful Place to Stay in the heart of Burgundy!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in mid-April, 2012 (the date of arrival we submited to this site's calendar is incorrect) and we cannot recommend the Gite Au Domaine Chandon De Briailles enough! Not far off the RN 74, its location is central to the Cote d'Or and Florence and François are delightful hosts: very attentive and engaged. And if you have any interest in the wine and food of Burgundy, Florence and François can be an invaluable resource in these matters, too. (Not the least because the organic/bio-dynamic wines made by this estate are immensely delicious.)

- The listing description of this property is very accurate.

- The photos of his property are very accurate. (Yes this place *IS* this beautiful.)

- The property is very clean and well maintained and includes a full kitchen and a great clothes washer and dryer.

- The owners are very helpful in answering questions/concerns.

- We recommend this property to friends, relatives, and to people like you who we don't even know. :)

- Centrally located in the heart of the Cote d'Or vineyards, near the walled, medieval town of Beaune (and its rail stop), and within a very drive-able distance of the cultural capital of Dijon (to the North) and of historic Cluny (to the South).

Il est merveilleux!

Great Relaxing Visit

  • 5 of 5

With two couples and two kids, this property was a great place to relax and recover after previous visits to London and Paris. Both Florence and François were excellent hosts making us feel welcome and at home. The wine-tasting experience on the property was top notch and a highly recommended part of a stay here. Fortunately, we were able to get a few bottles home with us!

Many thanks for a great stay!

Hidden Gem in Burgundy

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 3 blissful days at this gite and are already wondering how soon we can go back.

As residents of France, we often tour and rent properties all over the country but this wonderful address is certainly one of the best we have had the pleasure to stay at - all of the comforts of a boutique hotel with the charm and calm of a quiet private residence.

Excellent quality sheets, towels and beds. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need - including a dishwasher A whole range of dishes and pots and pans. The bathroom is large, modern, sparkling clean and has both a washer and a dryer. We very much appreciated the brioche and jams left for our breakfast.

The gardens are beautiful and well-tended while the private backyard is great for a bbq, relaxing and enjoying local wines.

Beaune is a short drive away, where you can visit cultural sites and eat at gourmet restaurants.

We had a warm welcome and relaxed the whole weekend. Thank you to Florence and Francois - we hope to see you again soon.

Very best,

Sarah, Adel, Julie and Robyn (from Lyon, France & Toronto, Canada)

Charming Comfortable Gite near Beaune

  • 4 of 5

spent enjoyable fortnight at Chandon De Brailles gite on grounds of the Maison de Maitre. Well appointed, clean and comfortable. Hosts were helpful and were able to identify great sites and restaurants in less obvious areas nearby.Easy access to well regarded and famous vineyards.First rate restaurants in walking distance and easy access to historic sites.Beaune is close by with historic buildings and good food.

Car is advisable. Best to approach the french manufacturers who do good deals for 17 days plus rental.

This is the heart of Burgundy and will suit wine lovers and those who have an interest in good dining and historic sites.Try the historic sites routes to the west of Beaune, towards Autun. These castles are off the track and are readily accessible.

Off- street parking available but smaller car like C4 Citroen advised.

This is a recommended gite.

Savigny-lès-Beaune is a picturesque village, with numerous restaurants, 2 bakeries, a butcher, local store, post office and historical buildings, including an aviation and automotive museum, the Château de Savigny.

But the real attraction lies in the vineyards of the Burgundian wine region, and Savigny provides a centrally located village where you can easily discover the wonders of the Côte d'Or wine region.

Beaune lies a mere 4kms to the south, and the vineyards of the Côte des Nuits are only a heartbeat away to the north.
