I currently live in Tampa, Florida and have many friends on Miller Beach. I am in the Real Estate business in Tampa Bay and have lived there since 1985. I am from Michigan and now I am close to home and family.
Albert P. purchased this House in 2011
Why Albert P. chose Miller Beach
I have many friends on Miller and wanted to have a place to enjoy. Having a northern home was always my dream the this location is perfect. Close to the beach, family, all the activities of the beach, Restaurants and coffee Houses. lOVE THE IDEA I AM CLOSE TO CHICAGO AND CAN TAKE THE TRAIN AND BE AT MICHIGAN AND RANDOLPH WHEN I GET OFF. DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT THE TRAFFIC. RIGHT ON THE MIRICLE MILE WITH ALL THE SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS AND CLOSE TO GRANT PART.
What makes this House unique
I love the idea of walking a very short distance to Lake Michigan. I walk to the Flamingo and Beach Cafe for many enjoyable dinenrs or just drinks with friends. Go into Miller to the wonderful restaurants and art and gift shops that are now there. This home is close to Chicago,Just take the train (Southshore) into the city and other places in this wonderful area. I can Fly into South Bend Airport and bring the South Shore train to Ogden Dunes station and be right here on the Beach.

This was a perfect location to get back and forth to our daughter's home in Portage. The owner was available to answer questions & was very attentive. We'd love to stay again over the summer to be able to enjoy the lake.
Fun and affordable stay.
Very good price for a house 2 blocks from the beach. Plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen was well equipped to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. We loved visiting all the sights along the Indiana Dunes area and walking around the neighborhood admiring all the cute houses. No worries about being near Gary as other reviewers have mentioned. You must try Miller Pizza and the Captains House for dinner. The Miller train station was very close to ride into Chicago or Michigan City. The owners sister Renee was very eager to help with any questions. Recommended
Thank you for staying in my home and hopefully you will return to enjoy Miller Beach.
Great place for our family of four.
We enjoyed our stay in this home. It had more than enough room for our family of four. Lovely dining room and large living room. Appreciated the wifi, satellite TV, 2 bathrooms and laundry. We took the beach chairs to the secluded beach just 2 blocks away. Proximity to Chicago was a big draw for us.
Thank you, Van Dalen Family, for staying at our Miller Beach Home. I am so happy you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you in the near future.
Perfect beach getaway
Great house nicely updated and hardwood floors. Short walk to the beach. Did not need a thing, perfect beach getaway.
Family trip to Lake Michigan
Enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was clean and functional. Stocked with everything we needed aside from food and clothing. I actually took pans and linens that I never unpacked, because a lot of rentals are lacking in those things. Albert and his sister, Renee were very nice and helpful during our stay.
I had some qualms because of the proximity to Gary, IN which has a higher crime rate. The area of Miller Beach and Marquette Park felt safe and we had no issues. We did use the Portage/Ogden Dunes train station for our train into Chicago because we felt it was a safer place to leave our car. It's only 3-4 miles from house and only added 3-5 min to trip. We did our shopping in Portage and stayed clear of the Gary area. I would recommend that. Had a nice Saturday outing to Chesterson, which has a wonderful farmer's market during summer. Beach is fantastic! Much less crowded than Dunes Parks and much bigger beach area. Marquette is a beautiful park, enjoyed kayaking on their lake, kids loved riding ripsticks and scooters on paved walks and playing on playground area. Their beach is easily accessed and has lifeguards. The Miller Beach is more private and only 2 blocks from house. But does not have lifeguards if that is an issue for your stay. We enjoyed both beaches.
Wonderful two weeks in Miller Beach
We had a great time at this house in Miller Beach and highly recommend it.
First of all, the house was great. It was 2 blocks from Randolph beach, with easy access. Second, the house had everything you needed. We really didn't need to bring anything in terms of towels, kitchen supplies, paper towels, etc. It really had everything you could want. Plenty of space with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a bonus basement area that the kids could take over. The outdoor space was nice and we often ate meals on the lower deck. Neighbors were nice and the area was quiet.
Miller Beach was great. It's not very touristy and sometimes i wished for an ice cream shop... but the beach is beautiful, the train to Chicago is easy, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is right next door, some good pizza and a couple restaurants you can walk to... Movies, grocery, Marquette Park and other necessities are close by. But the beach is the draw! Feels like an ocean but with fresh water. Kids can swim as the bottom is sandy and shallow.
Albert was easy to work with, flexible and very helpful. We hope to come back and would definitely stay here again.
Catch the South Shore Train to downtown Chicago or go the other direction for the large discount Mall and Casino in Michigan City. Heading east, train stops at South Bend Airport. Also The Casino is close to Michigan City..You can get off at the Ogden Dunes Station just about 3 miles away. Perfect to enjoy the day in the city and come back to your Beach House and relax on Lake Michigan
