About Jennifer Dean
Both myself and husband were raised in the small town of Canton, which is about 20 miles away. He have 2 sons and a daughter that we lost 12 years ago. We purchased the property so we all can be together as a family. We love spending time here during the summer either by the campfire, or hanging by the water sipping on a glass of homemade wine, with a great group of our lake friends.
Jennifer Dean purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Jennifer Dean chose Gouverneur
We wanted to look for something that was large enough so family and friends could come and stay with us. There is plenty of room to entertain. We opened up the front screened in porch, replaced it with windows and now it brought the inside to us. We just love it.

Great Family Vacation
We had a wonderful week on Trout Lake. The kids enjoyed all the lake had to offer from swimming to fishing. My husband and I took advantage of the kayaks every day. We had nearly perfect weather all week. We ventured out a few times (once for a hike, and once to tour the Thousand Islands region) but mostly enjoyed the quiet relaxation at the lake.
Jen gave us great directions, and we stocked up on everything we needed for the week at the local grocery store. The house had everything we needed to have nearly all our meals at home.
Thanks for sharing your camp with us!
Thank you for staying. The place looked great after your departure. Visit us again.
Great family lake house
The lake house was comfortable and had plently of room for our large group. The lake and kayaks were awesome and the kids loved hanging out on the water trampoline. The state forests surrounding the lake are private and there are several great spots for picnics and swimming. We would kayak over to the forest and hang out all day. The trip across the lake is not hard, we brought young children across with no issues. The owners are really great people, and the house was well stocked with pots pans spices and utensils. Thanks for all your help and a great family vacation!
Thank you for the positive feedback, meeting your family was wonderful. We are pleased that we could accommodate all of your families needs, we like to try to make it as simple as we can. And trout Lake is a great place for sharing and making memories with family. Thank you girls for the wonderful revamp of the outside fire pit.We hope that maybe next year you will come back and stay again.
