About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths

Looking for a unique Asheville experience and a taste of what makes our beautiful town different from all of the others?

Hooty's Roost is an adorable, well appointed, vintage log cabin that has been completely renovated and is available as a rental for 30 days or longer. It is conveniently located inside Asheville, 7-10 minutes from downtown and the Biltmore Estate and 1 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is uniquely situated in a quiet, historic neighborhood of similar cabins that was originally built during the 1920s-30s as a resort. Enjoy all of the modern amenities (yes, we have wifi) in a cozy log cabin!

This cabin has 2 bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has one twin bed. Offering charm and comfort, smiles upon entering are guaranteed!

Affordable and in the midst of everything that's happening in Asheville, 'Hooty's Roost' is a perfect retreat for a romantic get-away, business or while planning a re-location to the area. It is spotlessly clean and lovingly managed by an attentive owner who wants you to have the perfect vacation experience. Inside the cabin you will find information about local attractions, maps, restaurant suggestions and menus to help you begin your Asheville adventure.

If your dates are booked, please check my other 2 properties in the same neighborhood for availability at VRBO 205875 and 285362. Please contact me prior to requesting to book, especially if you want to bring a pet.

You are permitted to bring along one, mature dog who is under 50 pounds and sleeps in his own bed. Your furry family member cannot be left unattended in the cabin, so bring along a crate or plan on taking him with you to enjoy Asheville whenever you leave the premises.

Hooty's Roost is perfect for a single person, a couple with one child, or two friends traveling together.

About The Owner

After moving to Asheville in 2003, I knew that these gorgeous mountains would hold me forever. I discovered an interest and talent in home renovations and after restoring several cabins, I left the profession of physical therapy and now focus full-time on managing our log cabin vacation rentals. My other favorite pastimes are gardening, hiking and paddling my kayak on some of our beautiful lakes in the area.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2003

Why The Owner chose Asheville Area

While visiting a friend in Asheville, I happened upon this unique little neighborhood of adorable log cabins that was built as a resort in the 30's. I fell in love with the quaintness of the cabins and the quiet streets lined with huge, beautiful oak and poplar trees.

What makes this cabin unique

While close to downtown and the Biltmore Estate, Hooty's Roost offers a distinctive 'mountain home' feeling that you can escape to after a day of site-seeing. You can sip a glass of wine while sitting in one of the rockers on the front porch in the midst of a historic little neighborhood or grill and dine out on the private patio. Enjoy a vintage log cabin with all the modern amenities!

Guestbook comments from the owner

You have thought of EVERYTHING! We cannot imagine a more perfect way to have celebrated our 40th birthdays. The cabin was better than we could have imagined. The fresh mums on the porch, the remote controlled fireplace, the helpful notes, the "Asheville Bible" of directions and tips for good places to go made this the best trip ever!

Cozy and cute

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was adorable, and the layout worked well for three adults. The streets of the cabin development can be a little confusing, so follow Mary's directions and you won't have a problem finding the place (although I would probably recommend arriving during daylight hours on your first visit). The property was clean and in good repair, and the neighborhood was quiet. The master bath shower is a little small, so if you are a larger person, you would probably want to use the shower in the second bath. The good news is, you have options! Overall, this was a great place to stay and we would recommend it others.

Wonderful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the . There was enough room for me, my wife 4 and 2 year old. The cabin was comfortable and peaceful. It was tranquil enough to be relaxing yet right in the heart of Asheville. Probably a 5-10 drive to downtown, 5 minute drive to Parkway and 5 minute drive to Biltmore House. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed to cook, bathe, etc. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks, Mary.

Couple get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

I just want to thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cabin. Yes, it was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The weather was very cold. We just wanted to stay in the cabin and enjoy being together away from all the stress of home and work. You were so helpful in getting us ready for our stay, and always available when we called or sent a message to you. Thank you again for our wonderful stay and memories we brought back.

Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Could not have asked for a more perfect setting and a more perfect cabin!!!! Outfitted with everything you would need.....only had to buy the food :). Very clean, with no odors or pet smells...no deodorizers, no outlet scents, virtually allergen free. The front porch was perfect to sit on and enjoy the birds, the butterflies and the very friendly neighbors walking by. All appliances were in excellent condition, and very clean. The furniture was in excellent condition. There is central AC, but we hardly used it as the nights (August) were cool enough to have the windows open.

We came for the Asheville Celtic Festival and decided to rent this cabin for the long weekend. Mary was so easy to work with, welcoming, and accomodating. The cabin was clean and very cute and in a nice neighborhood. We had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the area. Thanks, Mary!

Hoot, hoot!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of three (mom, dad, and 8 year old daughter) adored our stay at Hooty's Roost. Blanket sheets on beds were wonderful to sleep in when it was super cold and windy outside! The cabin was well-maintained, well-appointed, and absolutely immaculate. I was impressed with the attention to detail that the owners paid in documenting how everything works and where everything was. Would stay here again!
