"I earn my living as a professional ORVIS Outfitter, which means I seek out the very best in accommodations and services for our North Carolin fly fising Expedition Trips. ORVIS is the only company in the world that has a service endorsement program for lodging and fly fishing services. I always rely on the Buffalo Creek Lodge for the very best accommodations. I cater to all types of customers who hire ORVIS for destination trips because of the quality that ORVIS brings to full service trips. The Buffalo Creek Lodge repeatedly becomes my choice for accommodating customers for short and long term trips."
We returned a year later to enjoy the entire month at Buffalo Creek Lodge. Beau always makes us feel like part of the family. We watched the construction of Buffalo Trace above the Lodge. We spent the majority of our time relaxing on the property, enjoyed "Supper 3, several Supper 7's, and even a Supper 10 at The Pointe for Liar's Club II. Those who have been here know what this means. Side trips this time included Waynesville, Sylva, Mingo Falls at Cherokee, and then Pisgaw Forest to view Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock Falls, with a lunch stop at Hawg Wild BBQ. Lots of turkey, deer, and elk in the Smoky Mountains National Park. Great hiking trails and trout fishing. We see something new each year we return. We will return for October 2017.
Where are the other reviews? Beau keeps this placed booked so far in advanced that his "regular clients" want to refrain from making a review to keep this place a secret. He works hard to make sure you feel welcome and is constantly upgrading the facilities. We stayed last October, this October, and already have intentions to stay next October at Buffalo Creek Lodge. If you can get reservations, make them soon! We enjoy our visits with Beau, and meeting new friends at The Pointe for campfires and BBQ, or an occasional beverage at the Cowboy Bar. The views are absolutely amazing. At night you can actually see headlights up at Clingman's Dome from The Pointe. You are close enough to ride the Tail of the Dragon and enjoy the sights associated with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Rafting and kayaking are nearby. You can shop in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Ashville, Cherokee, and Waynesville. Or you can simply set in front of a roaring fire inside, or rock on the porch of Buffalo Creek Lodge, enjoying the sights and sounds while relaxing in the mountains.
My husband and I stayed at the Buffalo Creek Lodge for a week and let me just say, the owner Beau is the sweetest kindest gentleman. He represents the charm of the people of the south to me. He was very accommodating as we arrived a day early and he let us come into the rental that day. We drive a motorcycle and as the driveway was very steep, he made sure to have the leaves and debris cleaned off from it to keep us safe. The property is beautiful and so quiet. We loved listing and watching the birds and at night there were lots of fireflies. And the view of the smokies from the Lodge is amazing. We enjoyed sipping our coffee from the screen room every morning and watched the sunset at nights from The Point. Breathtaking! I really really did not want to leave. I would stay at this rental again in a heartbeat. Thank you Beau for your southern hospitality and for being extra kind to these two Canadians!
The crew from Dallas and Ding Dong, TX returned for another relaxing week in the Smoky Mountains. We have stayed previously in The Lodge, The Guest Cottage and The Bridge Cottage. This was the first time that all four of us stayed in The Lodge together. While we were at Buffalo Creek our travels included trips in the Smoky Mountains National Park, Bryson City, Cherokee, Waynesville, and Ashville. Our host insisted that we stop in Waynesville to eat at The Sweet Onion in the historic downtown, and also to pick up local products at Barber's Orchard. These are now saved as "favorites" when we return again. Our host has always been the perfect Southern Gentleman and makes every effort to ensure that we enjoy our stay at Buffalo Creek.
Enjoyed our two night stay in this comfy cabin with gorgeous views. Well furnished and equipped and owner good to work with the downstairs twin bed mattress and box spring could use an update but other beds were good very pleasant surroundings and Bryson City is a quaint small town
The cabin is just right on the mountains and beautifully surrounded by trees. The views from the balcony are simply stunning. You'll find every thing you need to make your stay pleasant in this cabin.
From the comfortable beds to the fully equipped kitchen to the cozy fire place. For us this feature was a plus 'cause coming from Miami hot weather we wanted to experience this simple pleasure of just being relaxed in front of the fire logs.
The cabin is located just about 5 minutes from the little Bryson City and there is an Ingles supermarket on the way down the road, it comes very handy.
Attractions are nearby, Ober Gatlinburg TN, 90 minutes drive. Want to catch some trouts, just go to Cooper Creek Trout Fishing, it is located just 8 miles from the cottage and you'll sure catch some fish in the pond they have in there. The train, Smoky mountains rail road departures from Bryson to visit different places, although it was not a memorable visit, our little daughter really enjoyed the experience of going in a train in the middle of the mountains. Pricey.
There are decent restaurants in the area to make your stay more enjoyable.
Although December and the beginning of January is not a date where usually snows we had the fortune to witness this rare phenomenon (for us it is) and play with the couple of inches of snow we saw on the last day of our stay. Overall experience, a blast. The landlord will answer all your question and will make sure you are happy during your stay.Good man. We will highly recommend this place!!!!
