3 bedroom, 3 bath sleeps 6 with dual level terraces overlooking pool and sea
A cliff-edge breezy villa facing the Atlantic. House newly constructed in summer 2013 and fully equipped with new appliances and comforts. Quiet and secure residential neighborhood. Dramatic cliff-side views and scenic evening strolls.
There are 3 ensuite bedrooms, all with terraces opening onto the sea. The morning sunrise over the ocean greets you from the balcony and can be appreciated with an early dip in the pool before coffee. Screening the sun by early afternoon, the shaded 2 level terrace overlooks the pool with the ocean just fifty yards beyond.
Two identical spacious master suites are upstairs with ensuite baths, all opening onto the upper terrace facing the ocean. The modern equipped kitchen and granite island seating expands outside as a focal point for conversation and relaxed dining on the tiled terrace.
Fully equipped, the coastal get-away has cable HD TV, local phone and stable wi-fi. The traditional Barbados multi-louvered house design, without glassed windows, provides constant flowing ocean breeze and a cool airy atmosphere. At night and during quiet moments of the day, you can hear the ocean surging against the rocks below.
The immaculately maintained 200 square foot pool faces the cliff with ledge seating for meditating on the deep blue and turquoise horizon. A gas-fired BBQ allows for quick grilling of fresh fish from Oistens market. Less than 15 minutes from the airport, the safe residential neighborhood is quiet in the evenings for relaxing strolls along the escarpment and lanes.
Two beautiful white sandy beaches, including the world-famous Crane resort, are within 10 minutes’ drive north of the house, and more calm Caribbean beaches are plentiful 15-30 minutes south along the coast to Bridgetown. A grocery store and bakery is a short walk from the house, with a quick connection to the main island highway allowing fast access to tourist areas.
Our local key holder can arrange to meet you at the airport and orient you to the property upon your arrival.

About Steven Kelly and Phillip Miller
On one of our morning walks on a visit to the island in January of 2010 we came upon a surveyor working the cliff edge and asked what he was doing. He told us someone might be interested in buying the land. We asked what if we wanted to purchase the land who would we contact. The next 26 hours included contacting the realtor, making an offer, finding a lawyer to meet us on a Saturday and signing the paperwork for the land as we left for the airport. Three and one half years later our dream has come to life in this wonderful home by the sea. We hope that you find the peace and relaxation during your stay that we do. Enjoy the wonderful breeze, sunrises and crashing waves. Please enjoy your stay and treat our home as if it were your dream home. Steven, Mari, Phillip and Teri

Home is a gem, location perfect for relaxing
Located on the East side of the island, this home is a true gem which offered plenty of opportunity let go of the daily worries in life.
The location is amazing!! The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood. The home is a perfect layout, the upper deck the breeze and view are priceless. As stated in the details provided by the owners, all the comforts of home were there, not fine china, but everything you’ll need is provided. There was nothing we longed for other than a Starbucks coffee shop. The owner’s caretaker David was great as he met us at the airport and escorted us to the house, then on over to the grocery store.
If you wish to leave the property, a car is definitely advised, and while learning the map can be overwhelming the first day, the next day is a snap. We traveled all over the island from North to South, East to West and had no troubles finding our way. A good old fashioned detailed map did the trick, paired with patience in knowing we had no agenda nor expectations.
Every other day we visited a different beach or took a catamaran cruise during our visit. Tiami and El Tigre Catamaran cruises were awesome, worth the money, and the highlight of my family's trip. On the other days, we traveled all over the island, driving through different villages seeing and meeting the people of Barbados, which was awesome! My other favorite activity was St. Nicholas Abbey Sugar Plantation/rum distillery. I would suggest peeking at scheduled daily events before going as they offer some neat viewings. On the East side we loved visiting The Crane Resort for coffee and swimming. Bottom Bay is worth the viewing and my favorite beach scenery thus far, and the Atlantis Restaurant near Bathsheba offered a delicious lunch paired with an incredible view. On the West side, The Fish Pot near Holetown was a must do as the old authentic plantation style structure was neat in itself, but the view and the food were certainly memorable. We visited many different sea side bars in and around the Carlisle Bay in the Southwestern area offering pub fare, delicious drinks and a view sure to melt your heart. The ride along the water beyond Bridgetown gets better and better as you head North exposing unspoiled little beaches begging for a photo. In the North, we visited the Animal Flower cave and if you’re afraid of depths, not to worry, it is worth the visit and a notch in your pride belt. Sorry, I've run out of space in review. Home is GREAT!!
My family of six just completed our eight night stay at Peace of Sea. The property is exactly as described, and very comfortable for all of us. The rooms are spacious and there was plenty of storage space. The bathrooms are excellent. Obviously, the main reason to choose Peace of Sea is the view. Here this property truly shines! Incredible views. The sea breezes are amazing. No bugs!! We all loved sleeping with the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs to compliment the ocean breeze. The kitchen was fine and we ate several meals at the house. We used the BBQ twice. The kids loved the pool. My wife and I loved the upper deck. Great place to enjoy a cup of coffee. Other reviews have mentioned the airport traffic. It never bothered us. For one thing, the flights are infrequent enough to make the occasional airplane appearance more of an interest than an annoyance. David the property manager was excellent! Very helpful. He even delivered our luggage to the airport on the day of departure. The neighborhood was nice and quite. Everyone I met could not have been more friendly. I would definitely rent a car for this location, but my family and I easily toured the entire island. I would recommend Peace of Sea to anyone looking to rent a home on Barbados.
Peace of Sea getaway
We just returned from a 12-day stay at Peace of Sea, a large villa overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Barbados. First of all, everything in the house looks exactly like the photos; the views are breathtaking, the space is very open and airy and the bedrooms were more than big enough. During the day, the sense of calm and serenity felt is therapeutic. The neighborhood is a typical middle class Bajan one, so most folks were at work all day and it is super peaceful. It is removed from the typical touristy spots (20 minute drive to the south coast beaches), and you definitely need a car if you stay here, but it was nice to feel "away from it all" upon returning to the house after hours of surfing or beach-going! The wind blows non-stop and you can hear the waves crashing against the rocks. It is true that the house is directly in the flight path of departing planes, and they can be quite loud. Most of them leave in the evening, and one or two as late as 10pm or so. There was also a flight that left at 7am! But along with those sounds, nightfall also brings the sounds of the frogs and crickets, which usually drown anything else out and are a nice background to fall asleep to. The property manager, David, was invaluable to us during our stay. We had some maintenance issues with the house and he was always there, responding immediately and effectively. He even went out on December 31 and bought a new dishwasher when he saw that the one in the house wasn't working. He also picked us up at the airport upon our arrival, came over every few days to vacuum the pool and provided restaurant recommendations. Awesome service and customer care! The Crane Beach is a short 10-minute drive, with incredible waves! It is one of the nicest beaches in the world, and you can boogieboard in the surf for hours. The Crane complex boasts several restaurants as well, so there are some options for dining out that are not too far away. If I had any recommendation to offer the owner, it might be to consider air-conditioning for humidity control...at least in the bedrooms. While it is not hot in the house (the breeze seriously cools everything right down, along with the ceiling fans, and we did not see or feel a single mosquito), the humidity and salt air coming in through the open windows makes everything damp. The bed sheets would be damp overnight. Having the ability to close everything up and "dry it out" from time to time would possibly better protect their investment.
Thanks so much for your review. We are so happy that you enjoyed the stay. As you mention, one benefit of the cliff-side location is the ongoing breeze that eliminates the need for artificial a/c. Of course, Barbados does have humidity and over a week can dampen sheets. That is why we always prepare the beds just prior to arrival and there are extra sets of sheets in the closet for changes during a longer stay. As well, the washer/dryer is always there for quick cleaning of your towels or clothing. Thanks again for the staying with us and hope to see you again in future.
The house is located in a wonderful residential neighborhood with spectacular views and all the comforts of home. We were delighted when we arrived and in fact enjoyed using the pool, taking in the views, and lounging around the house for a couple of days before even going out to explore the island. The balcony is heavenly and a great place to enjoy the evening breeze, the sound of the ocean, and the moonlight. We prepared many home cooked meals and the kitchen had everything we needed.
We were greeted at the airport by Andrea and she guided us to the house and showed us around the house, and the vicinity. She was wonderful. She came to do general cleaning and called periodically to check on us. They also provided us with recommendations for wonderful places to visit. There was so much to do and see…we enjoyed driving around Barbados and visiting a new spot every day. Amazing beaches nearby…we loved going to Crane Beach, which is less than 10 minutes away and has great waves, it was our kids’ favorite spot for boogie boarding. The Crane Resort also has a few restaurants on site (including a casual Italian restaurant with pizza) and an ice cream shop, Our kids were able to run around in the courtyard with other kids after dinner and it was wonderful to have a very short drive back to the house where we could relax. We loved the Animal Reserve, Harrison’s Cave, and the Animal Flower Cave. Many great restaurant choices, our favorites were The Fish Pot in the northwest part of Barbados with a spectacular view and access to a small beach, and Spagos south of that in Holetown (where there are many other nice restaurants). This was by far the best vacation our family has ever had, and we miss Peace of Sea already. We highly recommend it!!!
Dear Ingrid, thanks so much for such an amazing review. We always focus on taking care of our guests from arrival through the visit in our home. We appreciate your highlighting a few of the exciting eateries and natural sights near the Peace of Sea. We look forward to welcome you again.
The Perfect Place
Just got back from an amazing week in Barbados! This villa is the perfect choice. I have to say that besides the typical color fading of a house in the sun, the pictures are truly accurate. The view is breathtaking, the pool is perfect during a hot day, and the size of the rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. are all just the right size. There were plenty of beach towels and other appliances to cover your basic needs and more. David, the house manager, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The open air windows and doors were fantastic on the breezy cliffs. The only negative (if you can call it that) is the distance from the main city and popular beaches. If you like to adventure out and drive around to different beaches, you can expect about a minimum 20 minute drive. This however, was no big deal for our group as we enjoyed the scenery and loved the option of beach hopping.
I would recommend this property to anyone and if I ever get the opportunity to travel to Barbados again, I hope to stay here!
Dear Kelsea, Thanks for your delightful review. Our home is especially wonderful with the doors wide open looking over the cliff at the ocean. It is true the calmer swimming beaches (such as Miami) are a short drive. Closer and lovely beaches for walking or rough surf are the Crane and Foul Bay just a little north. We look forward to have you visit again!
Sea of Peace Villa is a lovely place right on the cliff. The views from the home are spectacular morning, noon and night. There is nothing but calm, beautiful water to enjoy from every bedroom as well as the patio. A car is essential however to get to the many beautiful beaches in the area. The 82 degree weather was a welcome relief from the freezing temperatures of New England and not having air conditioning was not a problem. A constant breeze meant no bugs!. Perfect!!
The villa is in the flight plan from the airport. The traffic lasts for a short time and doesn't ruin cocktail hour. The home is neat, clean and simple. Showers are great with plenty of hot water. A bedroom on the first floor is easily accessible for anyone with special needs. Although not a gourmet kitchen, we ate two meals a day at the home.
Visit if you can. You won't regret it.
Dear Susan, We're pleased that you enjoyed your stay. When there we often cook at home - the fresh fish from Oysten's market is great on the BBQ to enjoy quiet evenings in shade on the terrace or cooling in the pool. Come back soon!
