Perfect for couples and individuals to enjoy all that London has to offer!
Born and raised in London!
Amit purchased this Apartment in 2000
Why Amit chose Central London
I grew up in the area.
What makes this Apartment unique
The location is brilliant. So central and yet so quiet.
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
The flat is in a wonderful location, within an easy walk to most everything I wanted to do. It was very comfortable and outfitted for all that is needed. The few, minor issues I had were handled quickly and well by Amit.
Nice quiet mews street very central to transport, with good restaurants within a short walk.
Flat D was very convenient, clean and pretty well everything we needed, except a decent teapot. We had great internet and wifi in the suite, very useful for planning our day and routes to get there.
The building entrance, hallway and stairs to the appointments need some attention, they are dirty and shabby and do not make a welcoming entrance.
Loved the area, great food and pubs around. The flat was a good size for 2 people.
Very Central Location!
Amit's flat was very central to all the main attractions in London, We were able to walk to most places we wanted to go to within 25 minutes. For anything further, we used the tube and there is a station very nearby. We also enjoyed that the neighborhood wasn't as touristy as other areas of the city so we got a feel for being locals. Lots of good shops and restaurants very close by also. The flat was cozy and mostly clean. The only negative I found was that some of the dishes, pots, and pans in the cabinet were dirty. I'm guessing that the tenant before us didn't wash them properly before putting them away. There were also crumbs in the cabinet. My suggestion to Amit would be to go through the cabinets to make sure everything is clean before the next tenant comes in. We also expected there to be coffee and sugar, etc. but found that the sugar canister was empty so we had to buy more...not a huge deal, but just something that was promised and not there. We also couldn't find any extra paper towels when we ran out of them (the roll was almost empty when we arrived). As we arrived on Christmas Eve and were spending the Christmas holidays at the flat, it would have been nice for some sort of festive decor or note from Amit. I understand people have different faiths and customs but it would have been a nice warm welcome. The flat just felt a bit "cold" for the season. Other than those things noted, it was a fine place to stay, mostly because of the location.
Basic, but functional little one-bedroom in superb location
We stayed at this studio (a little on-bedroom, really) for 15 nights in December. The location is fantastic: 10 min walk to British museum and Wigmore Hall; 15 min walk to The National Gallery and Wallace Collection; Oxford street is 5 min away if you want your wallet to lose some weight.
Everything in the apartment is simple, but functional. It is perfectly fine for two people. A few suggestions:
1. Please provide a microwave.
2. A bathtub is rather slippery. I would suggest providing a rubber matt or something before a guest falls in it, which can become a liability for the owner.
3. The mop needs replacement. It's overdue for retirement.
Everything else is fine, we can recommend this apartment for a solo or a couple stay without hesitation.
This was my first experience renting a vacation apartment anywhere, and I couldn't be more pleased. The location is perfect - just outside the noisy/crowded core tourist area but less than 5 minutes away by Tube or 10 minutes on foot. Lots of restaurants, cafes and stores in the 'hood but quiet in the apartment and street outside. (You can hear neighbors walking around upstairs but never a problem.) The apartment had everything needed for a single traveler - great kitchen and appliances, shower, TV and wi-fi. I really lucked out on this place, definitely hope to book again on my next visit.
Fitzrovia is a brilliant area in the West End. Walking distance to the shops of Oxford St and Regent St, the theatres across the West End, the bars and nightlife of Soho and Covent Garden, and the trendy restaurants in Fitzrovia itself.
Goodge Street tube station (Northern Line) is three minutes walk.
Oxford Circus tube station (Central Line, Victoria Line, Bakerloo Line) and Tottenham Court Road tube station (Northern Line, Central Line) are both 10 minutes walk.
Bus stops on Tottenham Court Road serve most of North and Central London.
Street taxis are easily available on Goodge Street.
Getting to the apartment:
From St Pancras International station (Eurostar terminal), the best option is to take a taxi because it is only a 10-minute journey. The bus route requires some walking and the tube route requires changing line, so taxi makes more sense for such a short journey.
From Heathrow Airport, the options are:
- Fastest (and most expensive) option: take the Heathrow Express train to London Paddington station, and then take a taxi for the 10-15 minute local journey.
- Mid-speed (and mid-priced) option: take the Heathrow Connect train to London Paddington station, and then take a taxi for the 10-15 minute local journey.
- Slowest (and cheapest) option: take the London Underground (tube). Piccadilly Line to Leicester Square, change to Northern Line, go northbound to Goodge Street station, then walk to the apartment. Changing lines in the tube with luggage is inconvenient.
From Gatwick Airport: Take the train to London Victoria Station, then take a taxi, or tube to Warren Street/Goodge Street.
From Stansted Airport: Take train/bus to London then tube to Goodge Street.
