This property is my personal escape! I love being able to share the experience with those who, like me, are tired of staying in hotels and are looking for an upscale, serene home away from home to spend their vacation. There is nothing like waking up to waves crashing and the tropical sun glaring outside your door. The four bedrooms and four baths makes it the perfect getaway for a large family or friends looking to get away together.

We recently returned from a small family reunion at Bahia Beach. We had 6 adults and one child. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was very nicely furnished. Everything was exactly as pictured and the beach was gorgeous. We were struck by the emptiness of the surrounding units and buildings. We had the pool and the beach to ourselves for the whole week. In 6 days, we might have seen 2 or 3 other families at the pool, 2 people on the golf course and maybe a dozen or so people on the beach. It was great to have the place to ourselves, but it was a little depressing. Several locals told us that spring break was over, which was true for secondary schools, but primary schools all over the northern half of the continental U.S. have vacation weeks in April. Our fear was that this was a by-product of a struggling economy in Puerto Rico.
The property manager, Abdel, was very nice and very helpful, especially with referring us to local tour guides prior to our arrival. Lisa and Keishla were the housekeepers and they did an excellent job tidying up and doing dishes. They even gave our daughter some handmade soap as a gift the day before we left.
We were a little worried about the bugs prior to our trip, but they really weren't bad. We think this was aided by the truck that drove around the grounds every night or two spraying what appeared to be insecticide. It didn't bother us though, we were still able to eat outside, even while they sprayed.
The trampoline and slides in the lake looked like fun, but the water was murky at best. Couldn't bring myself to jump in with a beautiful pool and crystal clear ocean a short walk away.
Why not 5 stars?
1. We didn't have internet access all week. Abdel did his best to get it fixed, but it never happened.
2. We overpaid.....by a lot. A few weeks prior to our arrival, the owners dropped the price of the condo significantly. If there had been a family coming in the day after us, they would have paid over 20% less. If you book the same week we did next year, you'll pay over 35% less. Clearly we agreed to the price we paid, and the owners were under no obligation to give us anything, but it still left a very bitter taste in our mouths. We asked very politely for them to honor the new price, or to even meet us half way, but our inquiry was met with very little empathy and we were summarily rejected. It's unfortunate because this cast a very dark shadow on an otherwise great week.
We just returned from a week long stay in Bahia Beach at this wonderful property. The condo was very well-appointed, exactly as you can see in the photos. The ocean front view was beautiful and even better than the photos depict. The property manager facilitated our various needs such as crib rental and was readily available for recommendations and questions. With a grocery store only 5 minutes away it was very easy to have everything for our young children in the house so that we didn't need to go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.
The Bahia Beach development is perfect for couples or families. Our kids loved the boat house where they could jump on trampolines and play on the slides out on the lake. We also took out kayaks and paddle boards. Of course they also loved the pool and beach club. The restaurants at Bahia Beach were excellent; we liked Fern (Jean Georges) and Molasses equally. The staff all over the resort was highly responsive and friendly. We highly recommend Bahia and this property.
We had a wonderful vacation, staying at this beautiful villa on Bahia Beach. We were 6 adults, living very comfortably in the space. Pictures show exactly what the unit looks like. Beautiful, new, clean. Housekeeper was really pleasant and came every day to freshen up the space. We took advantage of restaurants at the St. Regis, played golf, and enjoyed the pool and beach access tremendously. Bahia Beach Club pool and beach areas are even nicer than those at the St. Regis Hotel. If you go - bring all toiletries, as no shampoo, conditioner, or moisturizer is provided at the villa. We would highly recommend these accomodations and hope to return some day soon!
The apartment was lovely, and could accommodate our group. Excellent bathrooms. Since we all like to cook, the open kitchen was fun. Unfortunately, it was not set up with large enough pots, serving plates and utensils. We made do, but cooking was challenging.
The staff always was accommodating, in particular, Molasses restaurant.
We were there during a very quiet time, so we had the condo pool as well as the beach to ourselves. Often there were inadequate beach and pool towels, and absolutely nothing in terms of balls or floats. We all wished we were permitted to use the the St. Regis pools, which had waterfalls, and more activities.
We all loved the slides and trampoline in the lagoon. Our suggestion is to shower thoroughly after the lagoon. We also used the kayaks to go to the bird sanctuary....no birds were to be found. Perhaps it was the time of day.
The work out bldg is separate from the St Regis. It had to be the sales office. Although the equipment was new, almost none of the TVs or videos worked.
Our one huge disappointment was we could not keep the doors open to the balcony, because the "noseeums" were everywhere. A week after returning, we all still were covered with bites and itching. Do not bring any beach towels into the apartment.
We had a fine time together, but the negatives were glaring.
Our 3 night stay could not have been more perfect. Marlene and Abdel were a pleasure to deal with and extremely helpful. The property and grounds were even better than the pictures. We stayed with 3 other couples without our children and the condo was more than spacious. I would highly recommend staying here and certainly will return with our children. The cost of staying here (less than $400 a night per couple for 4 couples...during our stay at least) was much more cost effective than staying at the hotel directly. Additionally, it was nice to have a full kitchen, laundry, and added space.
*Having 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms was fantastic. Every couple enjoyed having their own bath.
*Rosa, the cleaning lady was there for at least 3 hours each day. She even did our laundry and folded it for us without us asking. Amazing.
*The new pool is spacious and gorgeous. It is great that they have food and beverage service. There is an additional pool in front of our unit that was empty our entire stay.
*Access to a golf cart was an added plus. The grounds are spacious and it’s nice to use the golf cart from time to time.
*Decor and furniture were top of the line. Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds and pillows were.
*During our stay the ocean was very rough and not the best for swimming. Not a big deal to us but something to be aware of if you have children.
