What a wonderful house!
Extremely clean and comfortable. Very spacious. The grounds are impeccable and the staff deserve so much thanks as they do amazing job at keeping the grounds looking so neat. Berta the house keeper is a dream and so helpful. Cannot thank her enough. Everyone goes out of their way to ensure you are happy.
We miss this place already and are sure to return ASAP. I did a lot of research before booking this home to make sure it would be the bests location, price and to be a place we would enjoy to spend our 10days. I don't think I could have found any better. Viviana is super helpful and the house has plenty of local information for food/restaurants/ taxi.
The house wifi worked 24/7 and the tv had plenty of channels when you want to just relax after a long day!
The fire place was always stocked with wood so if it got cold, Alberto was there to light it for you. They think of everything.
Liked it very much. Good location. Silent and calm. Beautiful houses sorrounded by gardens. Clean and ordered. Kind maids do the cleaning and cooking, and grociery shopping if asked for it. Excellent place to relax and visit Cusco's main attractions
Villa Runa is strategically located in the Sacred Valley in a very peaceful and beautiful place, where you can relax and feel at ease. A familiar and comfortable house, surrounded by well cared gardens, everything is decorated with wit and dedication making it be in connection with the environment where is placed. The owner and staff were very close, attentive and friendly making us feel like home, during the three days we stayed. Thank you all!
Our stay would have earned Villa Runa a five star rating if it weren't for a few problems/issues:
- The internet did not work reliably. A few of us (unfortunately) had work to do that could not be addressed because of the lack of internet. Staff did work at helping us.
- There is no heat in the house other than firewood. It gets cold at night. You will be charged for using the firewood.
- Although there are a washer and dryer, these are located outside and you are not encouraged / allowed to do your own laundry. If you allow the housekeeper to do the laundry, you will be charged for this service.
- Should you decide to cook your own meal and ask (and pay) for staff to purchase/gather the foodstuff you need, you will be charged for the service (normal if it goes to the staff doing the work) by the owner.
We did not feel this was fair or right.
In addition, although the house is advertised as having three bedrooms plus the mezzanine, the third bedroom was NOT made available to us. This meant that one of our people had to sleep in the mezzanine along with the child in our party which was not at all restful for the adult in question. The third bedroom was used by a friend of the owner, and later by the owner but not by us - it is a separate room that can be locked and can be kept separate from the rest of the house.
Overall, however, we found that the property was well-maintained, beautiful and provided a restful escape for our family. I will not recommend the house to people age 55+ unless in good health, especially if there are several people in that age group as the room with a single on the main floor may not be available for their use, should the owner decide thus.
The staff was excellent and made us feel very welcome.
However, at the very end of our stay, we felt that we were rushed out of the house as the owner was expecting guests in the afternoon and, although we'd said we would leave by 11, we were hurried out at 10 am. In addition, we were asked to pay additional monies for the use of the washer and dryer and for the extra meal we had asked and paid for already. It seemed... petty.
We stayed at this beautiful home for four nights. Great place to reconnect with nature and the natural beauty the valley has to offer. The house and its location is truly amazing.
We are a family of five with three young kids who enjoyed every minute of the outdoor gardens of this house. The house is well equipped with everything you may need. Bedding and linens were all great. The house keepers are all very helpful and go out of their way to help you with anything you may need. Berta the housekeeper was great looking after us and making us breakfast every morning.
The house is well situated in the Valley in a mid point to all main attractions. It is about 25 minutes from Pisac and about the same to Ollanytaytambo, where you take the train that goes into Machu Pichu. It is even closer to Moray and Salineras.
My one challenge since we arrived at night was taking the one way dirt road up to the house and not knowing exactly where we were driving too. Just take the road all the way to the end, and behind the wooden doors you will find a beautiful paradise!!
We would love to come back and highly recommend this house!!
