I first moved to this area in 1974 and fell in love with the lifestyle and pace of life. I've made my living over the years as a contractor and rental property owner. I particularly like the vacation rental business, as i get to meet a lot of great people and can introduce them to our beautiful area.

Absolutely wonderful little beach cottage. The outdoor space is amazing and was well enjoyed.

Seconds from the dock to fish and 3 min walk to the beach. Doesn't get any better. The house was well equipped with what we needed. We will definitely be back!

Haines City, Florida

Cozy and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time we've stayed at the little pet-friendly house on 11th Avenue, and once again we enjoyed it thoroughly. Because of the little fenced in yard, we're able to let our dog enjoy the outdoors, and the close proximity to a fishing dock makes my husband happy! My granddaughter and I spend lots of time on the beach (about a 3 minute walk) and we always enjoy a meal at the Hurricane restaurant, just two streets over. The kitchen is pretty much completely stocked with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, and the appliances include a mixer, toaster, coffee pot and dishwasher. There is also an iron and ironing board, hair dryer, washing machine and dryer, and the closets are stocked with plenty of towels, sheets, blankets, etc. We were pleasantly surprised to find bulk quantities of paper towels, toilet tissue, facial tissues and soap, plus laundry and cleaning supplies. (There was even insect repellent and suntan lotion, perhaps left by another traveler.) A gas barbecue grill and lawn chairs make outdoor cooking a wonderful option. But my favorite thing is the covered front porch area, complete with love seat, tables and chair, with a lamp and ceiling fan. We spend lots of time there, rain or shine, having coffee, listening to music or coloring and doing puzzles with my granddaughter. It may not be fancy, but this quiet little spot is perfect for us!

Quaint, clean, lovely cottage. The outdoor space is awesome. It is secluded and quiet.

  • 5 of 5

It was great to have access to a washer and dryer. Everything you need for a great get away. We purchased a new umbrella and left it for the next lucky tenant because the ones there were not usable. There is also snacks and an ice block that didn't melt all day at the beach for the next vacationers. We'd definitely stay again. We didn't have a car and walked everywhere. When we needed a ride, we called freebeachride.com and had clean friendly service and it is for tips only. One recommendation would be a couple of bikes. We found that Merry pier does not rent them any longer, so bikes would be an asset.

So popular it's finally worn out.

  • 2 of 5

Sorry to say the cute cottage has worn out. We stayed before; this time mattress was shot, floors dirty, room chairs and sofa sagging and fabrics soiled. Just plain worn out. Time to deep clean and replace old furniture. Location and fenced front yard still a huge plus.
