Enchanting and Serene
The cottage is of the highest quality construction, with furnishings and amenities to match. Fully renovated October 2013. A great spot for getting together family or friends. One of four rental units set in a large private yard, just steps from a world famous beach. Privacy when you want it and ideal for visiting with each other.
Large, lush private yard, shaded my coconut palms and almond trees. 14'x 18' gazebo houses charcoal grill and tables. Hammocks, wireless internet, local cell phone provided for your stay. Safes, hair dryers, blenders and ipad docks in units. Backup generator ensures power supply is continuous. Beach chairs and coolers provided.
The cottage is enchanting and serene, with ample space. Each cottage has a screened in dining area, living area, kitchenette, bathroom, a ceiling fan in every room, and an air conditioned bedroom with a comfy queen-sized bed.
Tropical decor and tiled floors throughout add to the charm of the cottages. A professional maid service cleans each cottage every three or four days.
I live in Alberta, Canada. I am involved in secondary wood manufacturing, elk farming and organic food production. My wife Kelly and I, have been married for 32 years. We have three adult children and three grandchildren. We all love Tortola and Cane Garden Bay.
Craig Corser purchased this cottage in 1979
This property was originally purchased and developed by an uncle and eleven other 'cockeyed optimists' from Alberta, Canada, in 1979. My father bought out eight of these twelve in 1990 and upgraded the property. I got involved soon after and have been managing the property for about 20 years. We have continuously improved the property, including a full renovation in 2013.
We are located at the quiet end of Cane Garden Bay, literally steps from the beach and a short level walk to everything you need.
Our property is 1.75 acres and is unique in that we have a large, lush private yard, shaded by coconut palms and almond trees. There are hammocks to relax in and high speed wireless for your convenience.
There is a tiny, family run bar and general store right next door. Rental cars are available locally.
We did a full renovation of the property in October of 2013. We added a 14' x 18' gazebo to the yard. The gazebo houses a charcoal grill and tables.
With four rental units and a large private yard, we are a great place for family vacations, weddings and business meetings.
We are just wrapping up two weeks at Cane Garden Bay Cottage ...this places is nothing short of spectacular and Sam and Sharlene, who managed our stay were absolutely the best from the beginning to the sadly approaching end of stay on Sunday...but not yet! We have decided to come back next year...again on the off season...but for three weeks instead of two. It is that good! July/early August in Cane Garden Bay is cooler than our place in Florida.
The cottage is well laid out, well maintained and very convenient for the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean...Cane Garden Bay. The people of Cane Garden Bay....a village of families...are welcoming and every morning walk is full of greetings and good mornings. We were struck by the many local families who bring their children every day to swim in this beautiful bay with crystal clear water. The kids have so much fun. Did I mention the sunsets from Cane Garden Bay over Jost Van Dyke. We snorkeled 6 BVI spots with a a guide recommended by Sharlene...Captain Deb...and we, who are long time Caribbean Amphibians agreed it was the best snorkeling we've ever done anywhere in the Caribbean...from Hawk Billed Turtles to Nurse Sharks to phenomenal coral and millions of every manner and size of tropical reef fish.
We travelled all over the BVI...from the top of Sage Mountain to the Baths and Devils Bay in VG, which was all superb...but were always happiest to come back the CGBC...to sit under a Sea Grape Tree on the beach or on our well covered porch during a tropical rainstorm, which never seem to last that long.
Like I said, the cottage comes with everything you need and Riteway in Road Town is pretty well stocked and there is is their wholesale/bulk outlet next door for caseloads of important things like Coco Lopez, Rum, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice and Nutmeg.
You need a car and at first look, Tortola's roads are daunting....suggest a 4-wheel drive if you want to do Brewer's Bay...a must....but the driver's are very polite and you soon learn the protocols. Cottage WiFi is highly reliable and multi-channelled, and if the power goes out...this is the Caribbean...the generator kicks in....but when in doubt Sam and Sharlene were their with suggestions and solutions.
Hate to be going back to our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, but it starts the clock to come back to Cane Garden Bay Cottage ...IRIE!
Spent 3 nights in Cottage #3 in January of 2016, it was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and private! I loved the setting, and close to everything I was looking for! The beach was beautiful, and having access to a cooler and sand chairs made it easy to spend the day at the beach. There is a local store close by for certain things you might need. I did not cook, but the kitchen was equipped for doing so. The only thing I would complain about is the mosquitoes, but that just comes with the tropical setting. Would definitely stay there again!!!
My husband and I spent 4 nights in Cottage #3 in late November 2015. We could have easily spent weeks there. When we travel, we specifically search out smaller lodging options that offer a kitchen so we can prepare some meals while away. The Cottage worked out great for that. The kitchen is tiny, however, we were able to prepare meals there without a problem. We also ordered provisions ahead of time and Sam was able to see to it that they were delivered and put away as they arrived before we did. The property management team was fantastic to work with. They responded to emails quickly and made sure we had what we needed. Here are a couple other bonuses to the Cottages that I think give them that extra personal touch: two beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler were provided so we had what we needed for a day at the beach. They also had bug spray and a bug zapper for us to use (the mosquito's were ferocious!). And, the air conditioning in the bedroom worked great. I would absolutely stay here again and I would suggest it to others. The proximity to the beach was great, we didn't need to rent a car to stay there and it was great to have a nice sitting porch to enjoy a cold drink on after a day at the beach.
My family and I just spent 4 wonderful days at the Cane Garden Bay Cottages. It was clean and very comfortable. What we loved most was the wonderful yard right outside our door. My 9 and 10 year old children had so much fun reading under the big trees and hammock. They also enjoyed collecting almonds that had fallen from the trees and playing "almond ball" A wonderful family vacation memory!
My husband and I especially loved how close it was to the beach, local restaurants, the small market and the glass blowing studio. We didn't bother renting a car. Walking everywhere was really nice.
Staff was friendly and right there any time we had questions. Thank you Cane Garden Bay Cottages for an unforgettable family vacation! We'll definitely be back!
This was my 4th visit to Cane Garden Bay, and my first time staying at Cane Garden Bay Cottages. Each of my visits has been at the end of a 7-10 day sailboat charter, so I am looking to fully relax and be gentle to myself, before my return to reality. I spent 3 nights in Cottage 4. I had seen the cottages on a previous visit, and they looked inviting. The description on their website was apt, and my expectations were not disappointed. Reserving the place with Samantha was straight forward, and well managed, and the place was well ready upon my arrival. The cottage was welcoming, bright and airy. It had all the amenities I required, with a tidy kitchen for meal preparation, (though I ate out for most meals), a cold fridge for drinks, and a comfortable bed and bathroom. The overhead fans and large screened windows provided ample breezes for escaping the heat of the day - not that I really wanted to. Nestled in the edge of a jungle-like grove, surrounded by a large, well manicured yard, the cottage was a sweet retreat from the "hustle and bustle" of the main street and beach. The beach, restaurants and bars were easy steps away. I could watch the sunset from my front step, through the palm trees, enjoying a cocktail. Of course the ubiquitous roosters were my alarm clock, sounding off perhaps a bit earlier than I had wished for. I thoroughly enjoyed my short visit and would return for an extended stay. I have no problem being entertained while passing time in Cane Garden Bay, and could easily make Cottage 4 my home for a while.
What an awesome, relaxing vacation in paradise!! This cozy cottage allowed us to feel at home while away from home. The cottage and grounds were very clean and well kept. We enjoyed having the ability to eat inside or out on the patio and the minute walk to our favorite spot in all of Tortola-the beach. The weather is warm, the water is warm and buoyant and the beach relaxing. We felt very safe on the island and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the local people who are extremely helpful and friendly.
What a way it was for us to enjoy and totally relax as we celebrated our 40th anniversary. You will love the cottages and the island!!!!
