About Jim Dillon

Live in the Burlington Vermont area. We love the lakes and mountains of Vermont!

Jim Dillon purchased this house in 2002

Why Jim Dillon chose Eden

This is our only vacation home. We use it in the winter to ski at Jay Peak and in the summer for the lake. Lake Eden is very clean - great for swimming. None of the milfoil, weed or algae problems seen in other Vermont lakes. It's a wonderful relaxing escape.

What makes this house unique

Great waterfront, clean lake, great downhill and cross country skiing close by in winter. Jay Peak waterpark and skating rink are new winter attractions.

A rustic lake house originally built in the '30s, updated and expanded to provide all the modern conveniences but keeping the rustic 'camp' feel. A great 'get-away'.

Perfect Ski Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this family cottage on the lake -- even though the water was frozen solid! (We watched kids play hockey on the adjacent lake!) It was warm and snug inside and a short car trip (under 45 min) to Jay Peak, Stowe, and Smuggler's Notch ski resorts. When we weren't skiing we were cooking in the well-appointed kitchen (literally had everything, including a slow cooker which we used to make our soup for lunches the next day!) and cozy living room where we put together a 1,000-piece puzzle and played games by the fire. We'd love to return in the summer!

The vintage ambiance of this camp was just what we were looking for. It is well-appointed with thoughtful touches that reflects much thought to comfort and a home feel. Very clean, plenty of linens and blankets, dishes, etc. Great having plenty of hot water and a washer/dryer. Will book again.

We loved this place! It was very clean. Rustic and modern at the same time. We were lucky enough to spend a week here. Clean lake, loons, osprey, eagles and even owls hooting at night! Great kayaking and boating and stars galore! What more could you ask for! I even found four, four leaf clovers in the yard! It's a great place to spend a relaxing vacation.

Very nice in every respect!

Very very nice property! Beautifully renovated and expanded house. Premier location at the end of a road. And for anyone that likes to cook, having a kitchen that is fully equipped makes a huge difference. This is a FULLY equipped kitchen! Best we have ever encountered in fact.

Perfect vacation house

  • 5 of 5

I just got back from my "On Golden Pond" inspired vacation. The house and setting couldn't have been better. Upon arriving we immediately went to the beautiful yard to enjoy the sunset. We lucked out with perfect weather and enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs, on the dock, by the fire pit, or on the grass under a tree pretty much the entire 4 days. Kayaking and swimming was great! The house itself is even better than the photos portray. I loved the screened porch! The kitchen was perfect with wonderful appliances and high end knives, pot and pans, etc. Also, I was surprised at how well stocked it was....pretty much any spice/condiment you'd need. Beds were comfy. Everything very clean. On the one rainy day we enjoyed doing the provided jigsaw puzzles inside. But also took a nice day trip to see some covered bridges nearby and drove over Smuggler's Notch road. So beautiful. If I had to nitpick I would say we could still hear traffic from the highway even though the house is seemingly tucked away. Also there is a new house going up in the subdivision so there was some tractor noise from construction. But by no means, were either of those so disturbing that I wished I would've picked a different spot. Just wanted to let people know who may be looking for total seclusion from noise and civilization, that there is a little bit of activity. But by far, the worst part of the trip was leaving! I will certainly keep this property on my list for future vacations! Thanks so much!

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Jim for the opportunity to rent your beautiful home on the lake. We travelled many miles and it was well worth it. Beautiful views, kayaking, great home cooking in a wonderfully stocked kitchen. And my dogs were in heaven! We've already booked for next year.
