Charming country cottage
Martin and his wife were great. Cottage was very comfortable and cute. There was a meal and stocked fridge for us, and other snacks left also a few other days as well, such a treat! A very "Irish countryside" location. We loved it. Only thing to address is the very steep stairs to sitting area and sleeping lofts, and the fold out sleeper sofa could use some updating. Great unassuming pub a mile down the road. Thatch cottage stay is charming, true Irish experience!
Xmas 2019 visit to family in Limerick
Initially, we couldn’t find the property but only due to not being able to use Google Maps, we were welcomed by Martin who had prepared a wonderful meal for us. The kitchen was stocked with the basics and since it was nearly Xmas , we even had fruit mince pies!
The house was very clean, there was enough bedding and towels.
My only disappointment was that there was no log burner, (in the photos of the house a log burner can be seen) and I had been looking forward to sitting in front of the fire, especially since we were visiting during winter.
Mallari's stay Oct=Nov 2019
Not our cuppa tea
The welcome was amazing but it went downhill from there. shower floors were dirty and in need of renovation. You could barely get into one of the showers due to the size of the slidding door. The cookware was in bad condition and the kettle was dirty. So we had to eat out or buy and bring back dinner every night. One of the rooms smelled of smoke and the bedding was old.
Very disappointing and not consistent with any of our previous reviews
We feel the need to respond in the interest of fairness
Please note the cottage is a no smoking area and if you smoke in the cottage then there will be a smell of smoke
The shower floors are tiled with non slip tiles and there is also a floor matt provided
The sliding door is a standard size for this bathroom
The other bathroom has shower with no door ie (wet room)
cook ware and kettle were purchased recently and are cleaned after each visit
The cottage is and bathrooms are cleaned after visit also all beds are dressed with fresh bedding
We also note none of these issues we brought to our attention during your stay we would have been happy to address any issues that might have effected your stay.
We will continue to try to provide the best experience for all of our guests at all times
What a lovely time we had!
Lovely character in the property - the kids loved the upstairs tv area, and each bathroom being close to the room / en suite was brilliant. Loved the induction hob, the kitchen was a great place to spend time together. Location was good for what we were interested in seeing, recommend Dolan's pub for great Irish Stew and traditional music!
