The Treehouse Lovenest is a charmingly unique 2 bedroom country lodge situated upstate NY on nearly 3 acres of virgin forest in Putnam Valley. Located an hour and 20 mins north of Brooklyn on the East side of the Hudson River, the two level house is perched up high amongst the trees and has recently been stylishly renovated. This loft like home has 18 foot ceilings in the living and dining areas and an open-planned kitchen adjacent to a split level lounge area which is drenched in light. For those who like to sleep in, it has 2 new comfy king size beds There are 2 bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances and for all those who love to cook or wish they knew how, the kitchen has a fun and diverse library of wonderful cookbooks. If you are a child of the sixties or seventies you will love the awesome stereo and extensive eclectic collection of vinyl. A 1000 square foot deck wraps around the house, overlooking a charming stream which flows through a canyon on the property next to our dedicated grilling deck. Adjacent to 150 acres of NYC water supply land owned by the D.E.P, the area is home to an abundance of wildlife with deer seen almost on a daily basis. The house is an ideal getaway for couples looking to escape from the city and reconnect with nature, in a clean, simple, tastefully-created and mid-century modern inspired environment. The Treehouse Lovenest is a luscious retreat that will recharge your spirit and energize the soul. The only downside to the place is that you will never want to leave.
I like taking photos, making coffee and swimming with my two dogs in nearby Roaring Brook Lake nearly everyday in summer. My wife works in fashion and is definitely the stylish one in the partnership. My favorite hobby is procrastination.
Mister Basquali purchased this lodge in 2013
I am from Australia and moved to NYC in 2001. What I miss most about Sydney is the nature, and the peace and tranquility that it brings. With both my wife and I working in NYC this house gives us a tremendous connection to nature which provided a greater counterbalance to the crazy pace of NYC.
It's so close to the city.(Just over an hr away.)
It would have been helpful to have a mirror in the downstairs bathroom. Owners very nice and response to questions were quick.
Concerned that its been 3 weeks and we have not received our security deposit.
Our positive experience began well before our arrival. The owners were very accommodating and helpful - providing for our special request as well as sending a very detailed orientation on the property. We have stayed at many places and can honestly say that the booklet we received explaining everything was the best ever. We were not disappointed upon arriving. We certainly did not travel during the best time to enjoy this wooded gem and found ourselves imagining what it must be like to be there in the summer with the windows open and sitting out on the deck. It must be relaxation personified. For us, this stay was all about a place to sleep and bathe as we had family plans. We really enjoyed looking through the old albums and playing some oldies - our teenagers were greatly amused by our 'jamming' and sing-along. Great fun! The house could do with a good cleaning and maintenance, but as spring is just around the corner, I would imagine that is up-coming. Certainly recommended.
This place had everything we were looking for. It was different from any other place we have stayed in the best possible way. The record player and sound system contributed to our overall experience being extremely relaxed and extremely fun! It was amazing to be able to enjoy a morning coffee out on the deck while deer came right up to us. We highly recommend to anyone looking for something different. - From the Pizzurros and the Kings
My wife and I had a great stay here. A beautiful house with spiral staircase to one of two super-comfy beds with beautiful nature views. We stayed here in the winter so we didn't get to venture outside too far but we can tell it would be amazing. Excellent wrap-around deck. Funky, but tasteful decor. Huge, eclectic record collection and a ceiling-mounted projector for movies, which was used daily. We spent about 6 weeks here and would love to return again, this time when we can enjoy more of the outdoors. Mister Basquali was very accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed and quick to respond to any inquires. Highly recommended!
This is one for the memories. An airy A-frame cottage perched in a thick forest canopy, just the right sort of isolation and tranquility for lazy afternoons on the deck or long evenings listening to LPs by the fire. We cooked like chefs in the kitchen that seemed to have any little tool or condiment you could dream up. And we slept deeply to a symphony of crickets and bullfrogs.
There are little delights hidden all over the place, which is cleanly renovated but keeps its old soul. Highly recommended..
The Treehouse Lovenest was amazing. This little house was so cozy and quaint I didn't want to leave. The house was well equipped with everything you need for a weekend away. It was immaculately clean upon arrival and very well decorated. I really appreciated that it had a well equipped kitchen with good cutting knives (sounds minor but really isn't if you're cooking while away:), nice table settings etc. It's those little things that make you feel at home. We cooked, played records and watched movies by the fire all weekend. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Will definitely be returning :)
