We purchased this property in April 2013 and have freshly landscaped and renovated the home and property. We look forward to making your stay here in Woodstock Vermont both pleasurable and relaxing.
Kat Gray purchased this house in 2013
We discovered Falcon house while on a bike ride and fell in love with it's unique and thoughtful design, the forest that surrounds it and the clean, cool brook which runs by the house. We know you'll love it too! What ever brings you to Woodstock, you will enjoy coming home to this comfy house at the end of the day. We've tried to think of everything you will possibly need to make your stay a special one. Enjoy the privacy of a country setting and convenience of being close to the village.
Falcon House is a special place. From an original design by famed architect Myron Goldfinger, this home has some truly unique design features and is incredibly well constructed. From the hand made Mexican ceramic tile floors (look for the chicken tracks) to the hand pegged spiral staircase, the house is amazing. It's so close to the village but really feels away from it all. You'll find everything you need to make yourself at home, we find we have many guests who enjoy our properties so much they return year after year.
Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality of Falcon House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here among the incredible colors of Woodstock!! We had a wonderful stay. We will definitely come back when we are in Vermont again and will recommend Falcon House to anyone thinking of staying in Woodstock!
We had a great time at the vacation home. The house is set up perfectly with a very cozy feel, awesome porch, and beautiful loft upstairs. We had absolutely no problems with the house and thoroughly enjoyed being lazy by the fireplace after a long day of skiing. Our kids loved the house and named it as one of our favorites.
Our week at Falcon House will rate as one of our all time best vacations. The house is both beautiful and beautifully maintained. It's located on a country road that is perfect for early morning and late afternoon strolls. We went up to Norwich for a class at the King Arthur Baking Education Center; visited the Orozco murals at Dartmouth College, took photos of orchids in both Eshqua Bog and the Strafford Town Forest, got our culture fix at the St Gaudens NHS, and thoroughly enjoyed the diversity of Woodstock area. Our only mistake was in booking just one week. We should have stayed for two.
Perfect for all seasons. House is comfortable and well maintained. Convenient to downtown Woodstock but very private at the same time.
...and close enough to town to be convenient, yet far enough away to feel like you're all to yourself...surrounded by serene wooded rolling hills, crisp, clean mountain air, deck facing a gurgling stream...better than a Brahms lullaby. Postscript: We left a valuable necklace there, and Kat right away went on a search for it, found it and sent it right back to us post haste... Much appreciated!
We are blessed to have been able to rent properties from Hanalei Bay to Venice Italy and points in between. Falcon House quickly became one of our favorites. Gorgeous home in the forest, not far from the storybook town of Woodstock. Well maintained and stocked with all the necessities. This was the perfect central location for enjoying the Fall colors. And would bet it would be as perfect in the summer! Mountain bikes provided were a great way to ride into town and see the backstreets. We also enjoyed the hiking trails that began right in town. Working with Kat was easy and she followed up quickly and everything was as she described. Will return someday, but until then......will remember the deer each morning passing by and waking up, late at night, to the huge starry universe shining through the big windows!
Falcon House is a lovely, convenient vacation home on a tree-shaded lot on a quiet road, overlooking a gently babbling brook. It's a great place to get away from it all--very private, very quiet, but just a short drive from the village of Woodstock. When we arrived, the house was immaculate, fully stocked with towels and linens, and all the pots and utensils you'd need for simple meals. Rafting tubes and bicycles are provided for your use. Very handy deck with a gas grill, plus a sitting area with a fireplace down by the creek. Comfy beds and nice big bathrooms. The master bedroom does have two high windows facing east, without curtains, so depending on the time of year the sun may wake you early. Elderly or physically challenged persons might find the spiral staircase a bit hard to negotiate. The owners, Cat and Matt, were very helpful and friendly, always ready to give us a hand whenever needed. There's plenty to do in the area: rafting, hiking, biking, horseback riding, sights, galleries, shops, and several quite good restaurants.
