There are absolutely wonderful and intimate views of the Mediterranean from this beautiful house. Set on two floors, the panorama is enjoyed from all principle rooms and the 3 balconies. Set in wonderful, subtropical gardens, La Aldea shares use of the pool, found on the complex close to the house. Refurbished to a high standard, with new kitchen, furniture etc. Whilst many parts of the Spanish coast are being overdeveloped, this area has no high rise developments, only low level villas and intimate community sites.

Although heated, the lounge houses a natural fireplace for the winter months. In addition to the 2 bedrooms, a sofabed allows 6 people to stay. Close to beaches, yacht marina, shops, restaurants and cafes, La Aldea is an upmarket complex. We looked long and hard all along the southern coast of Spain to find the right villa to buy. We chose La Herradura and this house and think you'll love it to.

Great for children: La Aldea is set on the Punta de Mona headland. either side of this small, quiet promontory, can be found the unspoilt towns of La Herradura and Almenucar. both have nice clean beaches, cafes, bars, restaurants etc. the area is used widely by Spanish holiday makers and is largely unspoilt by the hoards of package holiday makers who visit the areas further west. ideal for families, couples, etc, who want to see the vibrant, 'real 'Spain.

NEW LAW FOR VILLA RENTAL IN SPAIN THIS YEAR - This property has been registered with Registro de Tourismo de Andulusia - not only does this mean the villa matches the defined standard and quality demanded but it also means you are renting legally. Since the law came into effect, recently the Governement are imposing large fines and closing down unregistered villas and apartments. You may find yourself arriving on holiday and find your accommodation is not accessible - so check before booking that you villa owner has registered the property.

Beautiful vue, tastefuly furnished apartement

Since this was the 3th time we have been spent our vacation in this property, we felt like being home in Spain. The apartement has an extremly nice vue from the balcony, the bedrooms are tastefuly furnished, the beds are comfortable and large enought. It is well equipped, such as washing machine and dryer, and as We have spent here more than 5 weeks, theese things were important to us. The location is just perfect, 15-20 minutes walk from the beach but in a very quiet are called Punta de La Mona, far from the little town noises. If you like being in rest, listening to the birds, lying on a gorgeous terrace and watching the see the whole day, if you don't minde having a nice walk into the beach - specialy when you are comeing back can it be a bit hard on the serpentine - this is the best place for you!

The apartement has got two nice bedrooms, nice kitchen, two bathrooms, it is perfect for two couples or for a family. I am sure we will be comeing back soon.

A Restful Property with Spectacular Sea Views

We stayed with two friends and had a wonderful ten days. The weather was glorious and so we made the most of the balcony and enjoyed the splendid views. The pool looked inviting and was used by guests in other properties but, with still warm sea temperatures, we spent long days on the almost deserted beach downtown. In the evenings it was easy to get a table at the many local restaurants but they were still doing good business and we enjoyed several local musical nights.

For the relatively short time we spent in the property itself, the kitchen was adequately stocked, the beds were comfortable, the tv worked and everywhere was very clean. We also noticed that a brand new washing machine and dryer had been installed.

This is the fourth time we have stayed and we have noticed how all the attractive trees and shrubs at La Aldea have matured. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Wonderful place to stay

What a wonderful place to stay. Stunning far reaching views and very tasteful decor. We felt very much at home here not far from the bars, restaurants and beach yet far enough away for some peace and quiet. The kids loved the shared pool too!

La Aldea is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay

Very cosy house but not very clean especially the bathroom. No cleaning products available. Very nice and quiet swimming pool even in high season. We were there for 3 weeks in august. Walking to the nearist beaches is fine but going back uphill is very hard so you do need to use your car daily. Lots of very nice beaches close to la Herradura like Maro etc. It would have been nice to find a note to tell us about the super markets, nice beaches,etc,..Luis was very helpful. Lots of typical villages to visite and the Alhambra is a must see!! We booked our tickets during our stay but maybe better- more choise- to do it before leaving. The Moorich town nearby is also very nice so you do need to plan a whole day to visite both.

Owner's Response: I am sorry that you found that the bathroom was not clean - I have spoken to our Manager Luis and we now have a different cleaner - our cleaner cleans the house every week to maintain the high standards that we have kept over the 10 years that we have rented the house out.

It was the photographs of the view on the website that sold this property to me in the first place and it was the views that kept us sitting on the balcony in all weathers and at all times of the day and night! It was truly hypnotic! Absolutely stunning.

This is a property you can really live in. The two floors are well planned and spacious, all rooms light and airy (apart from the bathroom which is just BIG!) The beds were comfortable with oodles of wardrobe space for even the most jam-packed of holiday suitcases. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, plus a washing machine in the utility room. As mentioned previously, we spent most of the time there outside on that amazing balcony - we ate there, we drank there, we played cards there, we squinted into the darkness there, not wanting to go to bed, listening to the sea!

A walk into town probably takes around 30 minutes although coming back is a little slower as its rather uphill. We arrived at the property, which is in a rabbit warren of roads and hills, in the dark. Luckily a combination of the owners directions and some serious Google-earth/street viewing before we left, meant that we managed to find it (although we were actually surprised!!)

The pool is right under the main balcony although apart from literally an hour, we didn't actually get a chance to use it! Too many places to explore and we were only there a week!

We were there out of season (May - the week before half term) and the towns of La Herradura and Almunecar were pretty quiet but that was fine! Although few of the watersports places were open and some of the bars and restaurants closed, you can definitely see the potential for higher season although I would guess this area still won't be mobbed, if that's what you are looking for. We recommend driving up into the Sierra Nevada mountains (try not to close your eyes on the hairpin bends) and finding Trevelez! The Nerja caves are very impressive and we liked Nerja itself so much we went twice. If you go to see the Alhambra at Granada, BOOK IT!! We didn't and after a long drive literally turned round and came back as it was full!

All in all, we absolutely loved our week at La Aldea. We could literally all move in permanently tomorrow! The owners were very helpful with silly queries and random emails right up until we left for the airport. Nothing was too much trouble! And that VIEW.....I cannot recommend that enough. Thank you :)

Lovely Easter Break

We chose this house to stay at due to the fact that we were visiting family who live in Herradura over Easter, and the rental price for the house was one of the best given it was school holidays. We were also drawn to this particular house because of its spacious size, its location overlooking the sea, and the lovely pictures of the interior of the house itself.

Booking direct with the owners was very easy and straightforward, lovely people.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the location is truly wonderful - very relaxing and was quiet, but then we were visiting in low season. Views from the terrace are amazing, and it was really nice to sit there having breakfast in the morning sun (when we got it) - not the best time of year to visit this area, we did get some rain, and when it rains, it rains!

The beach at the bottom of the urbanisation is lovely, as is the small harbour at Marina del Este. I imagine in the summer it would be quite busy, but we virtually had the beach to ourselves.

All in all, we were thoroughly happy with the rental of this property and would recommend it to others as a good base for staying in this area. In the 5 days we stayed there, we visited Nerja, Frigiliana, Competa, Torre del Mar, the Alhambra Palace at Granada, and even went up to the ski resort at Sierra Nevada to see what it was like up there. We didn't ski ourselves as we didn't have any gear with us, but it was possible to ski, still plenty of snow up on the mountains!

There was only one down side which I feel needs mentioning, more for the owners info really - we did find the house to feel rather 'damp'. The bedding was clearly freshly laundered, but that too felt damp and cold when we got into bed - so much so, that I actually put the spare blanket on the bed as a bottom sheet. Also in the living room, the cushions and the sofas felt a little damp. Perhaps this was due to the time of year? My sister-in-law said it had been raining a lot there in the past few weeks, and maybe the house hasn't been used too much over the past few month? and so needed 'airing'. Thankfully there were some electric fires in each of the bedrooms and in the living room, which we were able to put on to warm the place up.

As I said, this was the ONLY downside, and didn't affect the overall experience of our stay given that we were out and about so much, but I just wanted to give an honest review.

It had been remarkably cold and our representative louis says that the heating had been off such that the sofas beds and soft furnishings would have been cold initially. Situated on top of the suprisingly green and lushous Punta De Mona headland, between La Herradura and Marina Del Este. Both are walkable though its a long climb back up hill and to far with shopping/grocery bags etc. There are beaches either side. The house is very quiet and in a truly unspoilt area. There are enough restaurants and bars in La Herradura for a different restaurant every night on a 2 week holiday, and even more in Almunecar and at the upmarket Marina. 55 minutes from Malaga airport, 50 minutes from Granada airport and 1hr 30 or so from Almeria airport, though Almeria has slower connecting roads. PERFECTLY situated. You wont be dissapointed.
