We rented four 3-bedroom units (804, 603, 403 and 607) in Belmont Towers in September 2016 for a large family reunion at the beach—celebrating my mom’s 90th! Previously, we were a small group of four adults and we had always stayed farther out on the boardwalk near 25th St. For this trip, though, we needed a building with several large units available for our reunion week, and we had to have an elevator, and Belmont was one of the few places to offer what we needed. But we had major concerns about the location—too loud? too close to the action? crowded parking? NONE of our concerns proved to be true, and EVERYTHING about this building and location were perfect! As a result, our smaller group of six will be renting a 3-bedroom unit there again this fall.
Our first impression was “Wow—it looks just like the pictures!” If you do a lot of vacation renting, you know this isn’t always the case. The rooms were nicely furnished, very spacious, and the view was just as it appears in the photos—beach! The office staff was helpful and friendly at check-in, and they responded very quickly when one unit’s fridge seemed to be malfunctioning (it wasn’t, it just needed to be kept closed after filling it with groceries and allowed to cool). Everything functioned well in all four of the units. They were clean, modern, and nicely furnished. Parking was great as well—each unit has two assigned spaces so there is never a worry about finding a spot in the garage. The elevators and hallways were kept very clean.
Our concern about being “too close to the action” was, well, ridiculous. We loved the location! We could walk to so many places and never had to move the car. Older kids could check out the rides and arcades on their own, Tony’s Pizza and Fractured Prune Donuts (practically daily staples for us) were steps away, and the little bars on and off the boardwalk were friendly and fun (Alibi Room was our favorite!). We were on upper floors, and even on the weekend the noise from the boardwalk was not an issue.
I cannot comment on the pool or fitness facility as we never used these. We are beach and boardwalk people, and never made it to the pool. But it looked lovely and people were certainly using it. I also found the staff at Vantage Rental Office to be really helpful and friendly. Maria helped us find the right units for our group and was always quick to reply to email and voice mail. We have stayed at the Belmont Towers every year since it opened. A couple of the units we have stayed in more than once but do to scheduling issues we had To settle for a unit that we hadn't booked before. Upon arrival we were disappointed with the unit. Don't get us wrong the units at Belmont Towers are spacious and very luxurious so please keep in mind that this review is based on others units that we have stayed in at Belmont Towers. The First thing I noticed was a lack of maintenance of the unit. The entry door to the unit was filthy, the key was difficult to get in the lock and once unlocked it was almost impossible to get it out of the lock. Once we moved our belongings into the unit we tried to go out on the balcony. The sliding door wouldn't budge and when it finally did it came out of the track. Fortunately it didn't fall. We were able to get it back on the track and learned not to close the door completely for the remainder of our stay. Once on the balcony it was obvious that of the four flimsy plastic chairs, two were broken. As small as these items may seem, when compared to the other units in the same building for the same rate this unit becomes less attractive.
