The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, penthouses, and handicap equipped units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.
Located in the heart of the Downtown Neighborhood – near the nightlife, restaurants, and shopping – our apartments are the ideal home base for exploring the city. The apartments provide a homey feel with a luxurious touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view. Units come with a kitchen, fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove, pots/pans, and dishes. The Management office on the first floor is ready to assist you during business hours, and, as many of my residents already know, I am always just a phone call away. A laundry room with coin-operated machines and a gym on the top floor are easily accessible through the three elevators.
There are public metered spots all around the building. If metered parking is not available, there is a nearby parking garage (1 block away) available for a fee. Note that these prices are non-negotiable since the garage is operated by a separate business.

I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters. I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.

Great Stay for 8 People. Absolutely Beautiful! The large window's did cause it to be a little warm in the room and the AC was unable to keep up to the hot weather that Memphis provides. I'd happily stay again!
The listing was accurate regarding location, layout, and amenities. The property was clean but needs some attention. The staff provided good customer service and excellent recommendations for nearby eateries. The Blue Plate was great for breakfast and Huey's makes killer burgers, onion rings, and nachos. I would recommend this property to friends/relatives with some qualifications regarding the repairs and updating it needs. It is a short, easy, and safe walk to Beale Street but a bit of a trek to Gus's Fried Chicken.
We had 4 adults, 2 young children, two teenagers. The common space was somewhat comfortable for family interaction, the kitchen was poorly stocked. We were thankful that we had not planned to cook, except for breakfast. Only 2 stove burners worked properly, inadequate plates and utensils for our group. Fridge was good. The first morning we had a severely clogged toilet that became a big mess. We reported it to the desk immediately, and left for the day. When we came back that evening nothing had been done to fix it. We called the desk again and got no assurances that it would be taken care of. I called Cjarlye and insisted. She was initially responsive and sent a handyman, who did not have access to equipment he needed. He contacted someone higher up who refused to make access to equipment possible. The handyman eventually was able to fix the situation without the equipment. He researched home remedies online! At one point the were offering service and cleaning the next morning, and offered 3 one bedroom apartments for the night. We were considering that option when the clogged was cleared. They did send two housekeeping staff to clean the bathroom. Needless to say, this experience affected our overall experience in a negative way.
We came to Memphis for our Daughter's graduation from Rhodes and we have 5 family members joining us. The 4 bedroom apartment was in a wonderful location. Nina was extremely helpful checking us in and out. The is apartment is very large and beds are comfortable. Very pleased with our stay and will recomend this location to friends coming to Memphis.
My three girlfriends and I just finished a long weekend here. It's located in a run down part of town, but then so is most of downtown Memphis. We never had one concern walking around. We parked a block away for $10 a day. The place was huge with 25 foot ceilings, 4 large bedrooms, beautiful windows, incredible architectural elements throughout, a full kitchen, fluffy towels, soft sheets, comfortable beds. Yes, there were missing tiles in the beautiful mosaic tile floors and the paint job could have been better and the carpet needs cleaning, but it was a terrific find and we loved it. We were missing a coffee maker and one was delivered. The place, while not spotless, was clean enough for us. Only one tv, but that didn't matter. The wifi was a little iffy in the bedrooms but worked fine in the living areas. The location was close to everything...the Peabody hotel for martinis and watching the ducks, Main Street with the trolley and incredible restaurants, and about three blocks from Beale street. And the riverfront which we walked to one morning. We are four women in our 60s and we were not concerned about walking around...even home from Beale street on Friday and Saturday nights after 11 pm. Actually the men, young and old, in Memphis were charming, helpful and polite. We come from Chicago so the level of respect and warmth we felt was a terrific surprise. The security guard in the building was kind as were all the tenants. It was a wonderful weekend! So glad we found this place. Also easy drives to Graceland, sun records and shopping.
Perfect flat for our bachelor party of 8! A trolley is near but we were easily w/in walking distance of Beale St. and had just as a good time or even better chilling here before hand! Nina, our guest coordinator, emailed me before our arrival to answer any questions and made sure we had plenty of towels and linen for the beds. There's only one TV in the unit which didn't bother us. The Wi-Fi name and password should be written down and posted somewhere but Nina was able to provide us w/ the info. Besides that and slow draining toilets no complaints and much more spacious for a group of people so why bother w/ a hotel??? Would definitely recommend this unit.
