About Alexei and Matthew

We're a couple of Seattle transplants, that just recently started to grow our Hawaiian roots.

It has been our favorite vacation spot for over 15 years, now we can finally call it our home.

This charming studio is our second acquisition on the island, and we are happy to share it with visitors to the beautiful Hawaii.

This Studio offers the best value. One and a half block from the most famous beach in the world, one block from the best shopping areas, and the fun and lively Kalakaua street. Hyatt, Hilton, Westin and Marriott are about a block away, but you'll pay only a fraction of what they would charge for often an inferior room and service.

Great location

I arrived late at night and had no difficulty finding the elevator fob and condo based on directions provided. The condo was very tiny and neat. There is also a small lanai.

The kitchenette consists of a cupboard with a counter, a small bar fridge, microwave, a hot plate and a coffee maker. The dishes are washed in a basin with water from the bathroom sink. I purchased an additional basin to drain the dishes and a toaster oven to bake food. There is no chest of drawers for clothes. The sounds of the neighbors coming and going were easily heard due to the open nature of the tropic construction. Traffic noise was loud due to being directly on the main drag, Kuhio Avenue.

The first morning after I arrived the sprinklers were tested all morning with announcements over the intercom. The internet was down for 1 1/2 days and I had no water for the last two days I was there. In fairness to the owners, these incidents were nothing that they could control, but instead building issues.

When the internet went down, Alexei was very quick to respond and called the internet provider right away to solve the problem. I stayed for the month of February 2017 and would recommend this condo for one person or a newlywed couple who still want to stay in close proximity to each other and don't spend much time in the room. The location is fantastic!

Owner's Response: Aloha to Debbie and to all of our future guests! Thank you so much to Debbie for writing a review, we appreciate every opinion we receive. It is unfortunate that all of these events mentioned fell into February, when Debbie had her monthly stay with us. No building in Waikiki is immune from them, whether it is a hotel or a condo. This building is no exception, and these things do happen from time to time, although extremely rare. Most of our guests do not even notice, unless they read the sign in the elevators, since very few spend their day in the room. We own several properties in different parts of Waikiki, and this Studio is one of the quietest among them. It is on the back side of the building, facing courtyard, not on the busy Kuhio Ave side. However, visitors from more rural areas sometimes are not used to the general background sounds of the metropolitan area, and it might take some time before you stop noticing it. Visitors expecting a complete quiet might want to stay away from Waikiki altogether, as there is no escape from some urban noise there. Internet downtime is very rare, and it is nearly always fixed on the same day it is reported. Unfortunately, in February it happened on Sunday, right before a major public holiday, so it took cable company a bit longer to take care of it. Water shutdowns had never taken more then 4 hours in the past when they are scheduled once or twice a year for routine maintenance. Emergency repairs in February was the first one to take longer, but the water was available in the morning, evening and nighttime. The watermain breaches happened in many parts of Waikiki over the years, as proximity to the ocean salt water makes maintenance much more difficult. City emergency crews are very fast to respond, and most of the time all is fixed before the guests return from the day at the beach or exploring the island. Cute, Cozy, Great location!

My friend and I went on a girls trip & stayed for a week in this cute little condo. It was perfect for the two of us! The bed was comfy, the sheets were amazing and the condo had everything we needed. It was within 2 blocks of the main Waikiki strip and the ocean, which was awesome. The building had security and we felt very safe walking around the area. We rented a car the last couple of days; the only downside was parking, but Alexei informed us of that beforehand. Alexei was amazing to work with! His communication was impeccable and he checked in via text to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely would stay here again!

Cute, cosy safe Studio

We enjoyed our stay in this cute little Studio, which was very central and only two blocks from the beach. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and all the fixtures and fittings were of a high quality. The foyer and approach was beautifully kept and guests need a computerized button to work the lift and a code is needed to get into the room. We loved the security, although the area was very safe. Almost right outside was the No 8 bus to take us into Ala Moana Shopping Mall. Thank you Alexei for a wonderful holiday and for your amazing kindness, booking us a cab to the Airport and prompt replies to any query we had. You are a star.

Cosy room

Convenient location, good security and host is accommodating. Love the ample supply of clean towels. Perhaps the bed linen & blanket could be improved .

Cute local small studio apartment

The studio apartment was very local and close to everything. We were going to rent a car, but the bus station is right down stairs and we were warned of the parking fees. Everything we needed was walking distance and close. We utilized the beach towels so thank you for that. The security of using the key fob was reassuring. Only draw back is so many travelers that didnt speak English would try to sneak on the elevator with us and didnt understand. Laundry room was a great convenience. There was a couple across the hall that were extremely loud screaming, swearing and slamming their door. We almost called the police one night. Our last night there, someone pulled the fire alarm 3 times and we had to evacuate each time at 12-1 in the morning! The owners were helpful and very responsive. We had an air conditioner problem and they came right away! :)

So much better than a hotel room!

Larger than a hotel room, quieter than any hotel and with much more to offer. This small but perfectly located and extremely well set-up condo allows the freedom to cook basic meals if you want, you have a coffee maker, iron, hairdryer, towels, beach towels, EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Very impressed. If you've only stayed at hotels, this place will surprise you with it's amenities and the value for money.
