About Robin Winfree-Andrew

We love to travel, and so we enjoy making our cabin a place for other travelers to relax in a beautiful location. We have both lived in Oregon for over 40 years, and we love to share the incredible beauty of the Cascade Mountains with our guests.

Why Robin Winfree-Andrew chose Vida

The Forest House is uniquely located on the edge of the Willamette National Forest, and in a great central location for exploring all the McKenzie Valley area has to offer. We hope our guests will enjoy the peaceful quiet of the forest, as well as the sounds and view of Elk Creek from our deck.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Waking up on Christmas morning to everything covered with snow, what more could we ask for? We had an amazing time while we were here: great location, great food, and great company. We went for hikes, even down to the creek in the snow, and built snowmen and had snoball fights. Thanks for sharing your little hidden gem with us; we are thinking this would make a great Christmas tradition!

Gorgeous private setting with an incredible deck!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed with his parents for a weekend event. It was just the retreat we needed! The deck and yard at this house is so serene and beautiful! We loved cooking meals and eating out on the deck each morning and evening! The loft was such a cool space too. I would recommend this house for anyone looking to get away, relax, and be within minutes of gorgeous McKenzie River hikes.

Rustic and private, beautiful scenery, cute cabin.

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was clean and warm, secluded but has a neighbor with large dogs that bark a fair amount. Only one bed, the upstairs sleeping arrangements are satisfactory but not particularly comfortable. Kitchen was spacious but if you plan to do much cooking it's wise to being pots and pans necessary to do so. No internet, which is fine but a little inconvenient, if you're looking to get away from your phone this is a great opportunity! Cozy and comfortable for our family get away, we brought our own bbq for outdoor cooking.

Fantastic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was great place to relax and unplug! Our hosts were wonderful and accommodating and very good about communication. My best friend and I chose this place to get away for a weekend and loved every minute of it! The cabin is on the rustic side but in the most charming way possible! Prepare yourself for days of lounging, sans internet, on the huge porch listening to the river, and for evenings on the couch enjoying a good old VHS from the 80s! Worth every penny and would definitely stay again!

Cozy mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in February. It's in a nice setting and is very quiet due to being located at the end of a road above the town of Blue River. The house had all the amenities we needed except wi-fi. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable. There is a great deck overlooking the forest and an accessible creek can be heard burbling down the slope. The wooded environment and the A-frame architecture gives the place a shrine like quality. It just felt good to be there.and we will probably be back, perhaps during the summer when we can enjoy more of the outdoor activity opportunites that abound in the area.

True to its name

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely visit at the Forest House. It is cozy and well-appointed and in a wonderful location. For those visiting in the off season, there are not many dining-out options in the area so be prepared to take advantage of the well stocked kitchen!
