This beautiful condo is located in the heart of downtown Kailua-Kona. It's a 1 bedroom with a king size bed, private bath and flat screen TV. The loft is all newly renovated and includes a king bed and full private bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for preparing Island meals or great pupus. There is a poolside BBQ for outdoor cooking, covered parking, and is located in a secure building. You can watch the sunrise over Hualalai Mountain from the private sun deck, and upstairs bed. The building is located directly across from the ocean with great access to the water. This unit is a perfect place for a romantic getaway or for the entire family. The village lights are beautiful at night from the front lanai and back sun deck. You will be walking distance from many restaurants, bars and shopping and no car is needed to get around town,although one is recommended to see the entire Island. The Kona Alii is the premiere condominium in Kailua-Kona.

Mark and Mary live in Birdcreek, Alaska, a small rural community outside of Anchorage. Mark is a retired electrician and Mary is recently retired. We just celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary and hope to have many more in Kona. We have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. We enjoy skiing and biking in Alaska and live in a somewhat isolated area where we spend a good deal of time driving. While we're in Kona we enjoy the fact that we can head right out the front door and walk to our favorite restaurants and bars with no driving! We love our condo. We hope our guests will enjoy it as much as we do.

Why mary sells chose Kailua-Kona

We have been visiting this building since 1974. Mark's parents own another penthouse in the same building. We were so happy to buy here because it feels like home to us and our family. Our girls learned to swim in the pool and now our grandkids are learning in the same pool. It's quiet, clean and in a wonderful location. It is definitely THE premiere condo building in Kona Town.

What makes this condo unique

One of the benefits of this unit is it's location! You are able to walk all around town and there are nice walking trails near by. You can have breakfast on the lanai and listen to the waves crash. With a rental car you are able to drive 2 hours south to Volcanos National Park or an hour north to some of the best white sand beaches in the Islands.

Secure building, elevator, private rooftop sundeck, completely outfitted for beach adventures, coolers, towels, etc. There is a pack-n-play (portable crib) in the closet for tenant use. Close to everything, walk to the pier and all over town. Lots of privacy in this Penthouse unit. Three full bathrooms with New Washer and Dryer.

Excellent place, location view.

We loved our stay at Mark & Mary's condo. We stayed there March 27- April 2, 2018 (had beautiful weather). The building & their unit is kept in immaculate condition and has many ammenities available for use. The beach chairs and cooler came in handy. Sunrise from the rooftop deck off the loft bedroom and sunset from the Lanai. There are two bedrooms, both with king-size beds and ensuite bathrooms, we used the loft bedroom and enjoyed a wonderful breeze through the condo and no need for the A/C. We loved the decor that instantly creates a Hawaiian island feeling. This was a perfect location for us to use as a home base as we are scuba divers and most of the dive shops are close by and the harbour is a short drive. There are many restaurants, shops and scenic spots within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again at Mark & Mary's on our next Hawaiian vacation if it's available.

Everything you could ask for!

We stayed at Mark and Mary’s for two weeks and it was perfect. We were able to limit the clothing we packed knowing we had a washer and dryer in the unit, which was super helpful. We utilized both the rooftop deck and lanai daily, the views were fantastic. Mark and Mary have stocked their place with everything you need and then some. The location is outstanding, so close to everything, we only rented a car for two days our whole stay! Mark and Mary picked an amazing place for their second home. Not only were they super friendly and helpful during our entire stay, so were the residents! Always striking up conversations, giving suggestions on things to see or places to go, very helpful. We loved our stay and will not hesitate to book this condo again the minute we decide to head back to Kona.
