Guestbook comments from the owner

Herb's Home was perfect for our NOLA vacation. The house is located in a picturesque New Orleans neighborhood walking distance to most places, including restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops AND just a 5 min. walk to Jazz Fest which was amazing to be so close to all of the action. We took short taxi's rides to all of our favorite Music Halls, hung out in the back yard and really enjoyed the place!!! Getting to know Herb was awesome too, he knows everything about the city and it was really helpful to have some local advice.

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

Everything had been thought of to make our stay in the apartment perfect. Location so good to get into the French Quarter, it is walking distance to a choice of eating places and a well stocked grocery. A beautiful area to walk around and take in the atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone.

Awesome accommodations, perfect location and fabulous host. Herb was more than generous and accommodating. Easy access to public transportation and conveniently located to walk to most anywhere. Extra large studio and outdoor gardens were a plus. Thank you Herb for a wonderful week!

Charming New Orleans Apartment Just North and West of the Quarter

  • 5 of 5

This is a very quaint little apartment in a pleasant neighborhood with its own excellent restaurants, coffee shops and wine stores. The apartment's charming decor reflects the owner's life experience in the Crescent City -- everything seems lovingly chosen to create just the right kind of environment for a New Orleans experience. We loved returning to it every day after our various adventures out on the town. He's also stocked the place with just about everything you might need to enjoy your stay. And let's not forget the extremely comfortable king sized bed which left us well rested after each busy day. Finally, the owner is, himself, a very warm and interesting fellow that we enjoyed meeting and chatting with. I look forward to staying with him again!

Great location and host!

  • 5 of 5

I booked this place based on the great reviews and it did not disappoint. Herb is a lovely host and took the time to show me around when I arrived. The unit has everything you need for an extended stay. There was a selection of coffee provided in the kitchen which was a nice touch. There are a couple restaurants and market a couple blocks away. I felt safe in the neighborhood and would recommend a walk or run to City Park which is also close by. The location is a short cab ride to and from the Quarters, but far enough away that you can get more of the local feel. Herb has tons of knowledge of the City and can give you recommendations for places to eat and stuff to do. I would recommend this place to my friends and would definitely return when I come back to New Orleans!

Stylish and Cozy with a wonderful host

  • 5 of 5

We have returned in the spring to Herb's place for several years now. Each time is as perfect as the last. The quaint suite is decorated with Orleans flair. The lush garden in the back yard is a peaceful place to sit and take in its beauty. Lots of personal touches, including fresh fruit to greet you. The location is excellent being within walking distance to grocery, coffee houses, cafes, Bayou St John, parks, an art museum and a cemetery. A bus stop is close by, too.
