Overview

Photos and Description of this holiday apartment in Downtown - The Lagniappe Suite

Studio, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Experience this charming vacation or business executive private studio apartment in our 1880's fully restored Victorian home. Our location for Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest is IDEAL - 5 minute walk to Jazz Fest at the Fair Grounds Race Track - most venues are within walking distance. Bicycling is the best way to travel long distances during Mardi Gras. Walk to grocery stores, restaurants, Bayou St. John & City Park. Relax and BBQ in the completely landscaped lush and tropical backyard. Plenty of street parking. All the comforts of home, just pack your bags and make your way over!

New Orleans has so much to offer! Start your day with Mimosa's, coffee, eggs benedict or beignets. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the Quarter or Garden District, a Steamboat Ride on the River, or cocktails on the balcony before dancing the night away on Bourbon Street. If Bourbon isn't your cup of tea, relax while listening to some of the country's best Jazz Musicians at clubs within blocks of the studio. The City is one of America's Jewels, don't blame us when you want to return to her again and again and again!

When it's time to take a break, this studio comes complete with a 42' flat-screen TV with full cable to keep you amused and informed during your stay, along with a full kitchen - gas range and oven, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster-oven provide all the basics for snacking or cooking a full meal. The king bed can convert into 2 twin beds along with a pull out twin-size couch for a third guest!

Come be a part of the party in New Orleans and 'Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler'!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Herb's Home was perfect for our NOLA vacation. The house is located in a picturesque New Orleans neighborhood walking distance to most places, including restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops AND just a 5 min. walk to Jazz Fest which was amazing to be so close to all of the action. We took short taxi's rides to all of our favorite Music Halls, hung out in the back yard and really enjoyed the place!!! Getting to know Herb was awesome too, he knows everything about the city and it was really helpful to have some local advice.

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent the better part of a romantic week in the gorgeously appointment apartment. Herb was a wonderful host. We had all we needed and then some when we arrived and throughout our stay. The garden area is perfect for your morning meditation, coffee and Bloody Mary. The walk to the French Quarters is quite doable. 20 min and your in the middle of the action. There are great restaurants, coffee shops, banks, wine stores and grocery stores within a 5 block walk too so even staying the neighborhood and relaxing close to the apartment a day or 2 is a great alternative.

We felt no need to rent a car. Taxied too and from apartment and airport and hired one Uber driver to take us to Garden District. Note: we did walk back from the Garden District and that was fun for us New Yorkers.

I whole heartedly recommend this apartment for New Orleans getaway or staycation.

Final words of thanks to Herb for being such a fantastic host.

Best of Locations!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our visit to New Orleans! This is a great centrally located place to stay. It's was walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, groceries and the trolley. Beautiful tree lined neighborhood with tons of character and architecture. We loved it and Herb and Louie his reggae pup, made for the finest hosts ever. Your stay in Langioppe house will not disappoint!

Cozy space and wonderful location to explore NOLA

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway here. The space is very charming and unique, both the indoors and outdoors. It is fully equipped, though when you're in a city like New Orleans, chances are you won't be doing much cooking. We were able to walk to neighborhood restaurants (like Degas for brunch) as well as to City Park. It's also not too bad of a walk down to the French Quarter, which we did during the daytime a couple times. Esplanade is a marvel of a street and so great to walk and see all the neat architecture. Herb was incredibly gracious and helpful to us. Would recommend to anyone!

Perfect for what we were looking for! Met all expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Herb,

Thank you so much for helping to make our 6th anniversary and 1st NOLA experience a great success! Everything met and exceeded our expectations! Everything was very clean and felt authentic to living the NOLA lifestyle. Perfect location as well - close to French Q, restaurants and most of the main tourist attractions.

We will see you again I'm sure!

Great Place to Stay in NOLA!

  • 5 of 5

I've been to NOLA before but always stayed in the French Quarter...this time I wanted a more peaceful place and this place over-delivered! First of all, the host, Herb, was wonderful...very knowledgable about New Orleans and went over and beyond, to make us feel welcomed...the place itself was so comfortable...very spacious and a nice comfortable bed! The bathtub was to die for and the kitchen was stocked with water, chicory coffee (we had to buy some for home) as well as fresh fruit (thanks to Herb!)...my favorite part of this place was the garden...so peaceful and relaxing and even came with a playful dog, Louis! You would be about a 5 min walk to great restaurants and the beautiful City Park...from there you could catch the trolley to the main part of town...Uber also worked great! I would highly recommend this place for you to stay...we'll be back! :)

A GREAT place to stay for our first trip to NOLA!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. It was our first VRBO stay, so we were a bit apprehensive to start. But boy are we big fans of VRBO now, because our stay was wonderful....so much better than a typical hotel that would have been much more expensive! For starters, Herb was the best host ever! He met us upon arrival and knowing we were first time visitors to NOLA, he spend a half hour giving us the lay of the land, a suggested itinerary (places to eat, must see sites, etc.)......and then even drove us down to the French Quarter and dropped us off at a great restaurant for lunch! We were treated like royalty!! Herb was always leaving food treats in the room for us (delicious apples, salty snacks, etc.), and I would not believe how whisper quiet our room was. The fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed (and then some). This place is on a quiet side street, in a very nice and central location. A/C worked great (it was 90 degrees outside our first day!), but when it got colder the next 2 days, we appreciated the heat lamp in the bathroom when getting out of the shower. We could not have asked for a better place to stay or a better host. When we visit NOLA again, we know where we will call home!
