About Bob Alexander

Professional working couple in the financial services and software industries with two college age children. Primary home is outside of Saratoga Springs. Bob, the husband, has been an Adirondack enthusiast for 58 years.

Bob Alexander purchased this house in 2013

Why Bob Alexander chose Great Sacandaga Lake

The couple truly loves the area and own two houses adjacent to the Foxrun property. Their 220 acre estate was accumulated over the past 15 years with the first home purchased 30 years ago. The 220 acres are pristine and contain wildlife diversity: fox, deer, racoons, wild turkey, pheasant, bald and golden eagles, bear, and other species. No hunting is permitted and signs are posted throughout the property.

What makes this house unique

Whether you want to kick back and do nothing, or you are a busy tourist, you can enjoy both in the Great Sacandaga Lake area and never sacrifice quality or pleasure.

Best house I've rented!

  • 5 of 5

I've rented a few homes up and down the east coast and this place by far was the best. This house has everything you could possibly need. Towels, linens, indoor entertainment, kayaks, fire pits, well stocked kitchen, and more. Bob, the homeowner, was around and would've been quick to respond if we needed anything but we didn't. He's thought of everything. Just bring: water shoes for the lake (kinda rocky), sunblock, and bug spray. There's limited to no cell service in the area but the house WiFi is very strong and iPhones can be set to make calls over WiFi so it's not a big deal. Bring a boat or rent one. The lake is beautiful!

We had 10 adults and one infant. More than enough room for us. You can easily fit more people.

Great Lake House

  • 5 of 5

This house was wonderful!! Perfect for families.

Bob was very helpful and lives near by down the road. Our first night there, a bad storm knocked out power to the are for almost 24 hours. (No fault of Bob's). Bob made sure we had flashlights, lanterns, ice, and water, & even offered to bring over a generator if the power hadn't come back on.

Great layout for large families & the kids loved the kid's bunk room.

Great warp around porch with lake views, and two fire pits; one in the backyard and one down by the lake. We cooked hotdogs on sticks one afternoon by the lake.

The biggest hit was the floating dock on the lake. Kids absolutely loved it.

I would definitely recommend this rental home & hope to return in the future!!

Beautiful house but there were problems

  • 3 of 5

The house, yard, fire pit and deck are beautiful. We were 4 generations, the youngest being 23 months. The crib was in the master bedroom where the grandparents were to sleep. So, we moved the crib so that the baby would be with his parents. Unfortunately, Bob Alexander was very much displeased with this. Bob was also angry that we asked about a boat launch claiming that info was covered in his welcome letter which only indicated where we could rent a boat. The high chair provided was almost unusable. Fortunately, the parents had brought a booster seat. There is a sewage problem associated with the house that needs to be addressed. When walking on the road, there is a definite foul odor coming from the property.

Owner's Response: Live and Learn! There was a septic problem, which was repaired today. If you plan do disassemble and move antique wooden furniture, please do not consider our home. I have updated our "Welcome Letter" to explain that Marinas have boat launching capabilities. Thank you, Bob Alexander

Beyond what we expected.

  • 5 of 5

First and foremost: bob and Ann are the best landlords on the lake: The house is luxury: The amenities perfect: Really, how much more can i say. Yes, thinking about it i could say this. I wish the stay was two weeks rather than one. Thanks you both for a memorable week at the Lake.

Enjoyed the Week.

  • 5 of 5

My wife, our adult children, and I found this rental to be wonderful. The property owner is a very friendly and accommodating landlord. Bob is a kind, patient man who pays attention to small details. He wants to give you the best possible rental experience. There is a nice variety of activities, swimming, hiking, and other forms of entertainment. You will see nature at its best. Deer on the lawn and turkeys strolling along the roadside. All of these things and privacy too. if these features are what you're looking for, then I highly recommend this beautiful home for your vacation. I know that my family is very interested in returning to this home in the future.
