We are from Massachusetts and love the Outer Banks! We love the warm ocean water and the beautiful wide beaches which up north, you don't find too often. We also love the laid back, relaxing feel of the Outer Banks. The house is fun and very comfortable and there is easy access to the beach. Our favorite things to do is to swim and my girls and I love to collect shells.I love to watch the dolphins off the deck in the morning while sipping my coffee, and to read a book on one of the many decks. Great for entertaining or relaxing on one of the decks with views of the ocean. The pool is private and a great place if you just want to take a dip and relax. Large private pool area .
Our family enjoys exploring the beach, visiting museums, and looking for ship wrecks. I actually found a part of the 'Oriental' off Pea Island, buried in the sand! Shipwreck Pocahontas within walking distance 2 miles on the beach.
We love to horseback ride on the beach in Frisco and also love to eat at the various restaurants on the island. There are also great places to buy seafood to cook on our outside grill . There are also many places to just grab a cup of coffee, or get an ice cream cone and shop! We have a large family of 5 kids, and there is always something to do! My kids enjoy playing pool in the evening , or just sitting on the beach by a bonfire. House is great for large families with 3 floors of living space.

Fell in love with the Outer Banks fist time we visited. Love the relaxing atmosphere and the 'beach feel' of Waves and Hatteras Island. The area is not " touristy" or crowded.Great beaches, beautiful views of both the ocean and the sound, and lots and lots to do! Great seafood too! Please check out the website
www.outerbanks.org for everything happening on the Outer Banks!
This house has conceige service for a fee. House has wireless internet access (we do not have a computer at the house)
Beach is semi private. Access only from owners homes. House includes linens( not towels).
We love the private beach access and the ocean views from the top two decks of the house, and from the living room every morning enjoying my coffee watching the waves roll in and the dolphins swimming. Quiet tranquil area, not a loud noisy beach, no traffic like you find in other areas of OBX. Most of the beach goers are people who own the homes in the neigborhood or are guests. Perfect spot to do some surf casting or if need a change from the beach and ocean, you can relax in the private pool .Pool is also great for small children. House sleeps 15 . House is great for large family gatherings. The house has plenty of room with 6 bedrooms, den ,living room, screened porch, a table that seats 12, a rec room and 3 levels of decks, everyone is somewhere having a good time. House is located at the end of cul-de-sac, which is great for walking, or riding a bike and private for children, no traffic. Located near restaurants and convenience stores, and a fish market. Lots to do in the area. If you want to spend some time relaxing, great place to enjoy a book on one of the 3 decks. For those of you who like to workout or enjoy physical fitness, there is a workout facility 20 mins from house in Avon for a small fee you can use facility there. For rainy day activities there is the Lighthouse in Buxton to explore, the Native American Museum in Frisco, the OBX coastguard/ lifesaving museum in Rodanthe and The Graveyard of the Atlantic museum in Hatteras Village. There is also a movie theatre in Avon. There are also marinas where you can rent or charter a boat and various rental places for bikes, paddle boards and or jet skis .

The beach in front of our house was spectacular and the house itself was clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful in prepping us for our trip with some great tips on where to eat, etc. The layout of Hatteras Jack is warm and friendly and perfect for a large group, we had 13 people, ages 4-70 and everyone had something to do. the stretch of beach in front of the house goes on forever in both directions. In one direction is the Rodanthe Pier and in the other direction is a really cool shipwreck only a short distance off shore. The water this time of year (mid-September) was still very warm and we loved just hanging out on the beach all day.
"Just the ten of us" went to Hattaras Jack the end of August. We made some great memories. The house was large enough for all of us to be comfortable. The kids loved having the choice of either the beach or the pool. The kitchen was well stocked with things we would need. However, we would say that the house is in need of repairs, the screened in porch had ripped and missing screens. The bunk beds in one of the rooms were held together with duct tape. Some of the slats on the outside deck were not attached and the steps going up to the upper outside deck were loose. Which made us a little nervous with the kids being on the deck. One of kitchen blinds were on the floor in the dining room. We had very heavy rain one day and we had a waterfall coming through the sliding glass doors in the living room and bedrooms. The cleaning people Shore Details did a terrible job cleaning the house after the last tenants. Wet clothes were left on one of the beds. We think this house could be 5 stars with a little TLC.
We just got back from our stay in Waves, NC @ Hatteras Jacks.
We took our daughter, son, and their families. Total of 11 of us.
You can't help but have a great time. House is really user friendly and comfortable. Kids have lots of options.
Great kitchen. Really a convenient and practical floor design for a group.
The beach is pristine. The pool is lots of fun, especially for kids.
Kelly is an absolute delight to work with. Very caring and responsive.
I would highly recommend this experience!
We had a wonderful vacation at Hatteras Jack and made many lasting memories, including celebrating my father in laws 75th birthday. The house was beautiful and the rooms and bathrooms accommodated our family well. We loved the pool, hot tub and easy access to the beach. The view was beautiful! We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets as well as fires on the beach. and fishing from the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed and the 3rd level living area was big enough for the 17 of us at one time. We cooked in for most of the vacation because there was so many of us. We highly recommend Hatteras Jack! Kelly was a dream to work with. She quickly responded to all of our questions. We enjoyed it so much we are making plans to come back next year.
The house was perfect for our family! We have adults and kids of all ages and there were plenty of baths and bedrooms for all! Kids could hang out on second level while adults gathered on third level. The kitchen was fully stocked with all we needed and more. Lovely views and decks! Enjoyed our stay!
This was our second year to vacation at Hatteras Jack. This year we had three families enjoying a wonderful 2 weeks on the beach. The house is very well represented in the photos online. Kelly is extremely helpful and responds quickly to questions. There was plenty of room for the kids to run around, and access to the beach is so convenient. We were there in late May, so we had the pool heated (I highly recommend it). We enjoyed a bonfire on the beach, the aquarium, the Hatteras lighthouse, and some great restaurants in Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. I would highly recommend Kill Devil Grill, Blue Moon Beach Grill and Miller's Family Restaurant. Risky Business seafood has the most wonderful crab cakes, and their mussels and clams were really fresh. I've been looking forward to next year ever since we returned home.
Waves is known as the best parasailing and windsurfing area in the world! The Outer Banks has many marinas to rent or charter a boat. You can also surf cast on the beach. The house has private access to the beach. You can fish, swim, surf, or just look for shells, or even watch for Dolphins. Outer Banks beaches have been rated in the top 10 beaches in the country, the last few years. There is also a ship wreck nearby, approx 2 miles from the house..Fishing also off pier at Rodanthe Pier, 5 minutes from house, where the movie 'Nights in Rodanthe' was filmed.
There is also bird watching at pea Island, and nature trails. 4 museums are located in the area. Hatteras lighthouse is located 30 minutes from the house, which is the most photographed lighthouse in the world. There is lots of shopping, restaurants, and great seafood! There is a movie theater 20 minutes from the house in Avon, and Spa Koru, also located in Avon. Horseback riding in Frisco, which is appox. 25 minutes house .
