WOW!!! Best kept secret in Jerome, The first thing guests say when they walk in is WOW!!!
We didn't expect this, the pictures do not do it justice.
I took the wife and two daughters to Jerome for Spring Break (beats waiting in line at Disney). One was 13 and the other 6. While I could write a 6 star review about Jerome itself, I'll focus on the lodging.
The apartment above the candy store really did have a million dollar view. The accommodations were comfortable, the space was plentiful, and the 2 levels helped us feel like we all had our own space (even though the girls slept with us on the 3rd floor after ghost hunting).
If there was one complaint it would be that we couldn't get good pressur for the showerhead. It was serviceable, but barely. Not a deal breaker since the ladies were all happy to use the tub feature instead.
The host was as accommodating as we could hope and the trip and I wouldn't hesitate to both stay at this location again and recommend it to any friend.
I should also add the parking lot next to the building made it easy to park closely to the unit at all times (you should ask why there is an open space to park next to the building - there is a grisly store for every square foot in Jerome!).
In summary, great value, location, and view made this a perfect place in Jerome for our trip!
Jerome is a great place to visit and the "Million Dollar Views" 2 story apartment, in the middle of town, was a fabulous place to stay.
The views from the decks are amazing and the apartment is very comfortable and part of the unique experience of visiting Jerome. There are lots of things to do for a day or 2, especially poking around the local shops, visiting the Douglas Mansion in the State Park, sampling Arizona wines in the wine bars and good food at the nearby restaurants (we enjoyed Grapes and the Mile High) ... and of course, sitting on the deck and enjoying the view!
I am staying here again if I am ever in the neighborhood.
We had a wonderful weekend at this apartment. It was me, my wife, our 4-month old baby, my friend and his 9 year old daughter. We had enough space to be comfortable and not have the baby's midnight wake-ups disturb everyone (my friend and his daughter shared a futon). The views were amazing - in clear skies and the thick fog.
The kitchen is large and well-stocked, so we stayed in and cooked our own feast. Decor was eclectic and fun but not overdone. My friend's daughter loved the space heater that looks like a fireplace!
The smell of popcorn and candy was intoxicating - added to the magic and fun of the whole experience. Tom was very communicative and responsive. The rest of the candy store staff helped make our stay special. Everything about this place makes your stay feel like you're in a quirky movie - the perfect way to enjoy Jerome!
I'd love to come back!
We were so looking forward to this stay and were amazed at the accuracy of the listing: from the views, the amenities, the cleanliness, as well as the perfect location. The intoxicating aroma of kettle corn follows you up the step stairwell to an amazing public yet extraordinary private space. The heat inside of the unit works amazingly well for the chilly nights, which we pleasantly endured from a much warmer Phoenix November. We would not hesitate for a moment to visit and stay here again. The owners were very kind and their kettle corn, in a word -- delicious!
Cute place. The owners' have a candy store below. They're very accommodating for a guest's comfort; leaving backpacks, maps, fresh ground coffee, etc. They've considered everything a traveler needs to enjoy Jerome.
My husband and I absolutely loved this apartment! It is a 2 story apartment above the candy shop. The view is fantastic from both balconies. We had everything we needed inside for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to everything we wanted to do. I spent each morning and evening sitting outside on the balcony even though it was freezing in December, I just sat outside with blankets :) We come to Jerome every year this weekend in December and this has been my favorite stay so far. Lots of historic charm! Will be back for sure. Thank you.
