|Space||1,600 sq. ft.|
|Minimum Stay||5 - 10 nights|
At this beautiful duplex condo on the south coast's Dover Beach, arched columns frame dreamy Caribbean Sea views, and 1600 square feet of elegant indoor/outdoor living space create a spacious haven on the shores of Dover Beach.
The Sapphire Beach Condos complex, where the condo is located, is both within walking distance to the shops and restaurants of St. Lawrence Gap but also tucked away from the busy-ness of the Gap.
Families love this best-of-both worlds location. And the 2 swimming pools and wide, white sand beach don’t hurt, either :)
IT’S IN THE DETAILS
Inside the condo, high-end details create an exceptional place to stay—from luxury sheets and towels to rich wood furnishings and sophisticated fabrics in a palate of pale turquoise and sandy taupe.
In the striking modern kitchen outfitted with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, you can whip up a quick meal or create a gourmet feast.
Both find a fitting setting at the open-air dining table on the patio facing the dynamic sea—the water here on the south shore of Barbados changes colors with nearly every hour of the day. The sunsets are particularly phenomenal, and you can enjoy a sunset dinner without even leaving your condo.
The two bedrooms at Sapphire Beach #117 each have their own attached baths (no fighting over the showers). Because there is one bedroom on each level—a king-sized master upstairs and two twin beds on the ground level—families with older kids find this to be a great setup for both shared family time and privacy.
The ground-level bedroom features a big patio door that opens to the pool and the beach for easy water access. Even the bathrooms are beautiful. Because Sapphire Beach Condos are just a hair over 5-years old, everything sparkles like new.
Have questions about Sapphire Beach #117 or its surroundings? Don’t hesitate to contact me. I love helping people experience the very best of Barbados and the St. Lawrence Gap.
Or if you’re ready to book your trip right now, let me know when you’d like to come and we’ll put your name on the calendar.
All the best from Barbados,
Greetings from beautiful Barbados! I am an American lucky enough to have met and fallen in love with a wonderful man from Barbados. Actually, I fell in love not just with the man but with his beautiful island home.
The views of Barbados' Caribbean Sea are stunning. Access to beautiful Dover Beach is right outside. The apartment is a spacious 2BR 2BA in 1680 s.f. on two levels ~ and it has 3 outdoor patios, laundry inside the unit, private parking, and outstanding security.
Location, location, location. Beautiful Dover Beach is directly outside your back door at #117 Sapphire Beach Condos and Restaurant Row is just a few steps outside your front door. There's also a small market across the street and little shops galore. You don't need a rental car in order to have a fantastic holiday here.
We stayed at Sapphire in January and it's a great location. we were looking forward to returning to 117 having booked it with Jane when my husband took ill. Our deposit was returned immediately. Jane is very caring and I would always book through her. Sapphire is a great property and being on Dover Beach is a great benefit as well as being on St Lawrence Gap ant this end (east) which is close to everything but not crazy busy!. Hope to see you in 2017, Jane. #117 looks great!
This was our first trip to Barbados and we loved it! The temperature always ranged between 23C to 31C throughout the day/night. We never needed a sweater to go out in the evening and it didn’t get crazy hot during the day. There was the occasional time when it rained but it never lasted long and was still warm. We found the condo location in St. Lawrence Gap to be very convenient. It was easy walking distance to many restaurants and bars. There were also a couple of grocery/convenience stores within walking distance, but the selection and price of groceries was better at the larger grocery store (Super Centre?) which is a short taxi ride away on Rendezvous Hill. We did decide to rent a car after we had been there a few days. There was no shortage of taxis but we didn’t find the fares to be as low as we had expected, and we liked the freedom of having our own car to explore the island. (Driving on the left side of the road wasn’t as hard as we thought it would be either.) We truly loved this condo complex and especially this unit. The unit is perfectly located near the end of the quiet condo complex and is a two story unit giving easy access to the pool/beach area through the main floor patio as well as a gorgeous view of the beach/ocean with additional privacy from the 2nd floor balcony. It was lovely being located right on Dover Beach where we found the waves in the ocean to be slightly calmer than we experienced at other areas of the island. Thee BEST part of the unit is the queen bed in the 2nd floor bedroom which was SO COMFORTABLE (nicer than our bed at home)! There was a bit of street noise given that the 2nd floor bedroom is located on the island side of the unit, but it wasn’t a problem. (I wore earplugs, but my boyfriend didn’t need any.) Overall, the condo had everything we needed, was clean, and well maintained. Access to a bbq is on our wish list, but isn’t essential. We ate out a fair bit as well. There’s no shortage of fantastic restaurants in Barbados (i.e. The Cliff, Champers, The Tiki Bar). This review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning that booking the condo through Jane Shattuck was a great experience. Right from the initial reservations to asking questions during our trip, it was very easy to reach her and everyone we dealt with along the way was very professional and helpful. We highly recommend Jane and this unit to others. In fact, we’ve just finalized booking this unit for our 2nd trip to Barbados in Jan 2016.
Your might have asked yourself what is wrong with these guys, no more emails // questions etc…. ;)
2 reasons for that:
Firstly, and most importantly, we have had a fantastic time – island, friendliness of people, your apartment, the weather ( even with a little more rain than usually ) – this was all top notch. And were really got soaked into it. On top of that our just-turned-6 son gave surfing a try, and believe it or not, he was riding some waves for 15 seconds plus standing on the board as if he’d never did anything else on day 2. You can image how proud we were!
So this, swimming at many different beaches + the nice pools, catamaran tour, jet ski, delicious early dinners at tides, tapas etc. - usually with a pretty sun downer – a glass of wine at the balcony later in the evening – this kept us pretty busy :-)
My wife, kids and I would like to send you a big THANK YOU. Your pre-travel help on logistics etc. were highly appreciated, the apartment was a lovely as advertised + hassle free and we really had a fantastic time!
Or in a nutshell, quoting our son straight after the touchdown back in London waking him up at 6:05am: “Daddy, can we take the next flight going back to Barbados ;)”
Thanks again, all the best, and hope we’ll get in touch with you for one of our future trips to the Caribbean!
Our stay at Sapphire Beach condos far exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect. We were greeted at the complex upon arrival and shown to our unit. We were given a tour of the unit and shown how to use everything. We had time to ask any questions we may have had and then we were off to start our vacation. The beach in front was incredible, one of the nicest we have ever seen. The water is so clear, and the sand so soft. You can bring the two loungers from the ground floor patio onto the beach if you want, or pay to rent the ones amply available on the beach (we paid $20/day for 4 loungers and 2 umbrellas).
There are plenty of choices for restaurants and nightlife all within short walking distance of the complex. Big Daddy's grilled chicken for lunch never disappointed.
We are already planning our next stay in Barbados and will for sure be staying at this same complex and the same unit.
Jane was very easy to deal with when reserving, and extremely helpful with tips for the area. Jane leaves a brochure at the unit to give you all the information you could ever need (rental car companies, restaurants, tours, things to do, etc...) We would never hesitate to rent from Jane again.
An A+ on this entire stay. Thanks for such a memorable vacation Jane!
A wonderful condo (#117) in a fabulous location - right on the beach on at the eastern end. Don't believe what you read about 'The Gap' being noisy, it couldn't be further from the truth - at least not in late October when we visited. The condo is so well appointed and has everything you need if you want to be self-sufficient, but also ideally placed for an array of places to eat, which range from great value street food to more traditional restaurants - even they have the same laid back vibe that you get all over the island. We did though lose the shorts and t-shirts and ventured further afield for a meal at Luna Cafe. Don’t be put off by the name, as a cafe it is not. Maybe not as high end as say The Cliff, but the food was exceptional and the prices were easier on the pocket!
As far as booking and communication is concerned, Jane is a dream, giving you all the information you need and relying to any email by return.
We'll be back in flash........
Such an amazing return to the lovely island of Barbados. Thank you so much Jane & Monica for all your help. The condo is amazing. Very well maintained,location is perfect, and being foot steps from Dover Beach and a few minutes from the gap was a big plus. I wouldn't stay any where else for now on when returning to Barbados.
BARBADOS, THE SOUTH COAST, & THE ST. LAWRENCE GAP
The south coast of Barbados is known for its beautiful white beaches, the famous Oistins Fish Fry on Friday nights, and its friendly vibe where you'll find locals (called Bajans) and tourists alike.
The St. Lawrence Gap ("gap" means "street") is the area on the south coast that is a favorite destination for both locals and tourists. Lots of quaint small businesses, delicious restaurants, colorful shops, and more—all within walking distance of your condo. A car is not necessary; a taxi to and from the airport is likely all you’ll need.
Known as "The Jewel of the Caribbean," Barbados has more repeat visitors than any of the Caribbean islands and, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), 34% of all arrivals to Barbados are repeat visitors. It's easy to see why: The climate averages ideal temperatures in the winter of 75-82 degrees Fahrenheit and in summer a warmer but still lovely 88-92. Gentle trade-winds from the sea keep us cool and we rarely turn on the air-conditioning, although it's available throughout our unit. People are friendly, the sea is crystal clear, and the rum fantastic.
