About Scott Shanstrom

I grew up in Montana and several friends were involved with and owned dude ranches, historical resorts and guide services - I guided fly fishing on the Yellowstone River through High School and College. I've always liked the idea of travelers coming from all corners to experience and share wonderful places. In addition, I’ve traveled extensively for work and have stayed in a wide variety of accommodations, making note of what I appreciate and look for in accommodations which I work to provide in my vacation rental properties.

We have had a vacation home in Rancho Mirage for several years and each time we had to head back to the Pacific Northwest, we found it more and more difficult to leave the desert and all that it so famously offers. Fairly recently, the opportunity arose to locate to the Desert as our main residence. I liked the idea of developing properties as vacation homes for clients to enjoy, but be able to come and go without having to deal with and worry about maintenance, opening & closing the vacation home, managing services, and all of the ongoing expenses of owning a vacation home. Why Scott Shanstrom chose Rancho Mirage

After much looking and comparisons, we chose Rancho Mirage, and specifically the Tamarisk Country Club area, for our vacation home due to its impeccable reputation for its safety, elegance, sophisticated yet relaxed lifestyle, a stunning setting and this neighborhood’s protection from the valley winds. We wanted a home easy to live in that was conducive to indoor- outdoor living & entertaining. In addition, we were looking for maximum privacy along with a quiet setting away from all main arterial traffic noises. We were very fortunate to find all of this along with the added bonus of an enormous lot that adds to the exclusivity and enjoyment of very private indoor-outdoor desert living at its best.

What makes this house unique

This home has been remodeled and set up exclusively as a vacation feeling like you are camping out in someone elses home but instead your very own private resort....without all the people....I live just down the street - we love it here!

The residence provides our guests with white high thread count linens, fluffy white towels, down alternative pillows, hotel quality bedding, large pool towels, personal check and we provide our guests with sufficient paper products and detergents/soaps for up to a one week stay to make your stay easy & more enjoyable. Thank goodness I did my research and found Scott. I have been using VRBO for 5years and I have always had great places to stay. This topped them all. Not only was the house beautiful but it had everything we needed, the pool was amazing and Scott was responsive to our needs. Thank you and I would highly recommend staying at Villa de Blanca!

Perfect Getaway!

We went to Rancho Mirage for my best friend's 50th birthday and had a wonderful time staying at Villa de Blanca. The house is beautiful, private, very comfortable and it had everything we needed. It was so quiet and peaceful yet the house is centrally located and we were never more than 10 minutes away from our dining choices. The saltwater pool and spa were fantastic! It was the most relaxing weekend either of us have had in a very long time. Scott was great and we look forward to returning. I highly recommend Scott and his property!

I’m in Love.....

This house is absolutely lovely! Scott is terrific and attentive. He responds quickly with answers to questions you may have about the house. The backyard is completely private and the area in general is extremely quiet. This is exactly what I needed to get away from the noise and crowd in Los Angeles. And yes,.... I will return soon!!

Exceptional. Amazing. Best vacation home ever !

This home was really exceptional and absolutely spotless. The backyard was very private and the pool was an added bonus. We enjoyed the covered patio and ate outside most days at the little table set up there, as well as chilling on the outdoor couch. Beds were very comfortable - in fact all the spaces were comfy. Bikes are there for your use and we used them to bike through the lovely quiet neighbourhood. Lots to do around there! Movies , fine dining , hiking. A central location very close to downtown Palm Springs. We’ve rented many VRBO but this was the best by far ! Thank you Scott for your attention to detail and your warm hospitality!

Attractive house full of charm in an amazing environment

The described and presented property is completely faithful to the illustrations. The ground, the swimming pool and the spa are very well maintained. The property offers a complete intimacy. To live or stay in Rancho Mirage is a choice more than sensible. You are at 10-15 minutes of everything! The rent includes 2 bikes. We made beautiful tours to admire nature and surrounding properties. You are at paradise here. A few minutes away from the magnificent Ritz Carlton where points of view are among the most beautiful which it was given to us to see in America and in Europe. Amateurs of mountain, golf, bike, nature, you will be delighted! A few steps away from Sunnylands. To see, it is a must during your visit! Amateurs of the architecture of the ‘mid-century’, you will be delighted by the tour offered by the Museum of Architecture and Design (Michael Stern). Have a drive in Movie Colony and appreciate residences of Sinatra, Marilyn, Elvis and so many others.

Scott, the owner, responds to our needs and is very efficient.

Palm Springs, we will be back again !!

Tamarisk Country Club addition is a very quiet and safe neighborhood and highly sought after due to the natural protection from the majority of desert winds. The night desert sky has been thoughtfully preserved with very few street lights to showcase the amazing star viewing. The Tamarisk addition offers very quiet streets for morning and evening walks (or both!). A really great neighborhood for touring via bikes and beautiful landscaping and many architecturally recognized homes. From this home and neighborhood there is easy access to Palm Springs Airport, groceries, shopping and restaurants and the annual Coachella Valley events. This home is centrally located between downtown Palm Springs and Palm Desert - just blocks off of highway 111.
