My husband, four year old son and I just arrived home from Captiva yesterday. I have been coming to Sanibel/Captiva almost every year since I was a child. I have such fond memories of family vacations on these islands--and I am grateful to be able to share that with my son! This condo is exactly as pictured. It was clean, bright and fresh. It was fairly quiet. I could occasionally hear the people in the condo next to us. It didn't bother me at all. The kitchen is adequately stocked. My son thought the Murphy bed was the coolest thing ever. We enjoyed the bayside views-especially the sunrise! We drove a very short distance (maybe 1 min) to the public beach (parking fee) a few times, and also utilized the beach within the resort (free--maybe 5 min drive). Captiva has the most gorgeous beaches!! Sunset is breathtaking! There is a coin-operated laundry facility on the ground level of the complex which was SO convenient! It was immaculate. We were unaware that the rental came with beach chairs and an umbrella. Unfortunately, we ended up renting beach supplies on Sanibel before check-in. Island Rental Services on Sanibel was great! We brought our own beach towels, and ended up buying some cheap-o sand toys at Target. The complex pool was very clean and refreshing. Plenty of lounge chairs, tables and even couple of grills for cookouts! If you're new to San-Cap, then it must be said: buy your groceries in Fort Myers. There's a Publix not far from the causeway. I will say that Jerry's is reasonable and well-stocked. We try to buy perishables there, and non-parishables at Publix or Target. The Captiva Provisions Company along with Starbucks is located right across from the resort entrance. Provisions has some basic grocery items and a deli. The sandwiches were pretty good! We enjoyed some water sports during our stay. Jet skiing and parasailing were amazing and Sunny Island Watersports is located right inside South Seas which is super convenient. Booking through Royal Shell was fast and easy. Overall, we enjoyed the laid back island life for a week...jut what we needed. We would stay here again in a heart beat! We are already planning our next trip!
