Nestled in Hillside, Villa Escapade is one of our top St. Martin villas, thanks to its island and ocean views, as well as its spacious back terrace. Owned by both the French and Dutch governments, the tropical island of St. Martin is known for its colorful trees, fantastic beaches and its eclectic nightlife scene.
Unwind on the ample-sized patio boasting sweeping views of the Simpson Bay Lagoon and the Caribbean sea beyond. Take your pick from one of the many cushioned lounge chairs and relax with a cold drink from the outdoor bar. The centerpiece is a large infinity- edge pool that appears to drop off over the bay. As a part of a small enclave of homes you will also have access to a nearby, shared tennis court where you can challenge your guests to a friendly match.
The interior of this airy home features soaring beamed ceilings, tile flooring and natural light from the villa’s many windows. The great room opens up to the terrace and includes a large living space with a flatscreen TV and plenty of seating on soft cushioned wicker furnishings. A marble-topped dining table sits just across from the living room and you can craft a home-cooked meal in the fully equipped kitchen that includes a marble-topped island and windows that fully open up to the terrace.
Up to eight guests can comfortably sleep in this villa’s four bedrooms, each features its own color and design scheme. Two of the bedrooms include a king size bed while the remaining suites have two twins. Every room boasts access to the terrace through French doors, as well as a private en-suite bathroom and air conditioning.
You’ll be just a short drive from the beach where you can stretch out on the white sands or snorkel in its warm waters. A 10-minute drive takes you to the capital city, Marigot, where you’ll find gingerbread houses, sidewalk bistros and boutique shopping.

After staying in many villas on several islands I have to say Luxury Retreats is extremely accommodating to every need whether you would like full time staff or complete privacy. Our villa was just as expected and the staff was wonderful. Julie Hutton went out of her way to make sure all our plans were accommodated and she was a pleasure to work with. Our vacation was truly one of our favorites and the laughs along with the wonderful people we met on the island will be memories we cherish for a long time. We look forward to visiting again and would stay at Escapade Villa and look forward to using Luxury Retreats on all our next visits to our vacation getaways. Thank you!
This is the second time that my wife and I have rented and stayed at Escapade. We were very impressed with the house and view initially and decided to have this, our second, visit with our family. Our two children and their spouses as well as a neice accompanied us. It was their first visti to St. Martin and they enjoyed the island and most especially the villa, pool and view.
It was good to see Val and Exile again and as they did before, took excellent care of us.
Also, on this visit we has excellent support from our concierge, Julie Hutton. She checked on us regurarly to ensure that all was well, without being intrusive. And, she responded well to a variety of questions we gave her ranging from where to hike to how to grill plantains.
All in all this visit was excellent.
Surpasses all other group destinations/accommodations.
The view was gorgeous. The whole party loved the pool area and the Mosquitos were not bad at all when sitting out at night. We cooked breakfast every morning and ate out the rest of the time. Had the conceirgne arrange for a chef ,our entire party could not put into words how delicious the meal was! It was awesome and he was ,too.his name was Julien. Our conceirgne was Julie. She acted like we had been lifelong friends. Sweet and professional! A few things that can be improved on: the TV , most of the time it did not work or could only catch a few stations, the master bathroom has no privacy when taking a shower or changing clothes and the gardener is outside the bathroom, and the gardener comes in unannounced. When he comes in to bring flowers in the morning he just walks in the villa without knocking , just a simple knock would work, suppose we would have been unclothed that would have been very awkward. Exile was a nice man, maybe that is their way in the islands no knocking!
We were immediately picked up by our concierge at the airport and taken to our villla where our jeep was waiting for us to use all week. The view of our villa ESCAPADE took our breath away, it was beautiful, just like in the pictures! The way the villa is laid out there is wind throughout the entire villa, so you are never hot since the a/c are only in bedrooms. We had some food/beverages pre-stocked and everything was to our liking. I would definitely rent this villa again. Spent days going to the beach, eating out, and coming back to the villa to relax and swim in our private pool and cooking something on the grill was pefect. Thanks to the concierge, our entire travel from beginning the booking till the end was perfect.
We stayed at Escapade over Christmas and New Years with our family of 7. The villa is located in Terres Basses in a gated community of 5 other villas with a shared tennis court. The location is ideal as it is close to the airport and well situated near great beaches and restaurants in Marigot or Grand Case are an easy drive.
The view over the lagoon and ocean is spectacular. The villa is truly an outdoor living area with the kitchen, dining room and living room all fully open. Even the bathrooms are open with cleverly placed walls and screens to protect your privacy. Val provides daily housekeeping and Exile, who lives on the property provides maintenance & caretaking. Both are very friendly. The villa is quite spacious and the pool and lounging area is awesome providing sun and shade. There are a few things that could be improved given the cost: BBQ is very old with a small grill. The appliances are old and low end. Wireless not available in bedrooms. Only one TV in the entire villa.
