Kier Kondo is located in Residencias Reef on San Francisco Beach building #3
About Kolesa Kier
Hola-- we are Steve and Kolesa Kier, from Newell, Iowa. We are farmers that love getting away from the snow and cold in January and February. We have been enjoying Cozumel for over fifteen years and staying a few days longer each year! We scuba, snorkel, and try golfing! The course is beautiful and a must for REAL golfers! Nine years ago we found Residencias Reef and fell in love with the people and grounds. We purchased while vacationing in April of 2013. Enjoyed our visits that year making the condo our home away from home! We know you will enjoy sharing our home in paradise!
Kolesa Kier purchased this Condo in 2013
Why Kolesa Kier chose Cozumel
We fell in love with Residencias Reef primarily for the private, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The condos are secure and have beautifully manicured lawns and well maintained heated pools. Plenty of palm trees for shade and palapas at the beach and at the pools .Walk for miles on the beautiful sand beaches. The pier makes a short trip for scuba and snorkel trip. Dive shop right next door at the Secrets resort. Cozumel offers awesome reefs, great beaches, palm trees, reasonably priced restaurants, and friends we meet each year.
What makes this Condo unique
Condo life is so much better for Steve and I. With the separate living and sleeping areas we do not feel we bother the one still sleeping if we slip out of bed for that early morning cup of coffee - made in our very own kitchen. We can relax on the veranda all morning or till we are ready for some activity!! If we are ready for a little more excitement or just a meal, Carlos and Charlies, and Paradise Beach are a short walk south on the beach. With the fully equipped kitchen it is easier to not gain the 'all inclusive' five pounds. :) That is, if friends stop suggesting trying a new restaurant! We are just 2 miles south of Chankanaab Park where the Annual Triathlon (ironman) starts. The bike ride will go right past Residencias. We have storage for bikes and an elevator to get them to the 2nd floor.
Minimum age for rental is 21 years
You may smoke on the veranda with the doors closed
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
Fun in paradise
Loved the condo! It was even better than we expected. Being the rainy season we almost had the whole complex to ourselves. Beautiful beach with better snorkeling north of next-door Secrets. Discovered La Cocay in town and had several dinners there. Definitely recommend renting a car for convenience if you plan on going into town much. Highly recommend this condo!
Will be back again!
Residencias Reef was exactly what we needed for our trip to Cozumel. Before arrival the owners sent us an information packet with check-in details (there is a code on the door its so easy and convenient), tips for places to eat, tips for activities, and a bunch more stuff. Communication was quick and easy even when we locked ourselves out of the safe. The condo is in the furthest building but we chose it since its the only building with an elevator. The beach on the property is lovely along with the 2 pools. The beach that the condos are located on i believe is one of the longest stretches of natural beaches on Cozumel. Its rocky near the shore so you need to bring some good water shoes. The condo has everything you need to cook your own meals and the housekeeper showed us the laundry room the first day where all the extra bathroom and beach towels are kept. There is nothing lacking in this condo, the owners have thought about everything to make sure the tenants are taken care of. The pictures of the condo are representative and the back porch was bigger than I imagined it would be. It was so nice eating breakfast and dinner on the porch with such a lovely view. The resort was kept up immaculately, there were always workers trimming trees/bushes, cleaning the beach, and cleaning the pools. OH, the only negative is apparently over the past year the dock at secrets has started to charge residencias to use it. They were attempting to charge $2/day/person to use the dock even though I heard that the residencias HOA actually paid to build the dock. I hadn't read it anyone on other reviews and it was the only thing that caught us off guard. The secrets "lifeguard/dock fee collector" was one of the rudest people we encountered the entire time on the island. Other residents mentioned similar feedback. However, not a reflection of the condo just FYI if you plan to scuba/snorkle and have a boat pick you up at the dock. LOVE this condo and we plan to come back to Cozumel and Residencias Reef.
Traveled to Cozumel for a wedding. Never been. We are a family of 4 and the condo was a perfect size for us. Balcony and view was one of the best parts of our stay here. Enjoyed coffee out there each morning despite the heat and humidity. Could not get enough of the view. Went to the beach most days and it was so quiet and peaceful. I agree with other reviews that you should consider the water shoes because the shore line is a little rock but once you get out a little ways its perfect. Love the pools! Especially the one closet to the ocean, again very peaceful to swim and look out onto the ocean. Property is clean and well kept up. We experienced helpful staff on the property from the housekeeper to the gentlemen at the entrance of the property. Helped us each time we needed a taxi. There are 2 taco stands within walking distance which we went to almost each day we were there for lunch. Convenient, delicious and cheap. Groceries are a little further away, you will need a car or taxi to do a shopping trip. The taxi driver we had actually came into the store with us while we shopped and tried to help us out a little. Condo has many of the beach items you will need. We really enjoyed our week and would stay here again.
The condo was very nice and very roomy. We go to Cozumel several times a year, but have never stayed at a VRBO. We took our kids and grandkids this time and Kier Kondo was perfect for us. Since snorkeling is one of our grandkids favorite things to do, choosing Kier Kondo at Residencias Reef was the perfect place for us.
The Keir family was easy deal with. The condo was beautiful. It had everything we needed. Everything worked. We had no problems. It has a great view and we will most definitely try to rent it again on our next visit. It’s the nicest place we have stayed at in residencias reef
Great condo in Cozumel
We stayed at Kolesa and Steve's condo during the last two weeks of April 2019. The condo is located within Residencias Reef complex, on the second floor of building #3, next to the small pool (there is a larger pool on the property, about 100 yards towards the beach but the small pool seems to be more quiet). There is an elevator in the building (apparently the only one in Residencias Reef), which is nice if you bring heavy suitcases, groceries or haul diving equipment. The condo is fully equipped with everything you might need during your stay, including a fully functional kitchen. There was a nice welcome gift when we arrived, including a bottle of wine, a few bottles of beer and a watermelon in the fridge. We had a bit of a confusion trying to find a washer and dryer, and some beach towels. Eventually we found everything in a separate room, some 20 yards down the corridor on the right when you face the condo door. There is a small plate on the room door indicating that it belongs to Kier condo. The condo is very clean and is well maintained. Everything is in a perfect working condition. There is a large balcony with a large table and chairs, and several lounge chairs so you can have meals on the balcony or just relax there. Overall we were very happy with the condo and our stay at Residencias Reef. The property is located some 14 km south of town and is pretty isolated (which was perfect for us). We rented a car during our stay so we would not have to relay on taxis, which, although plentiful, are getting more expensive every year. If you are considering renting a car in Cozumel, get liability insurance from your insurance company and a letter stating thet it works in Mexico (most credit cards include CDW insurance but check that it covers Mexico). Otherwise the car rental company will insist you purchase quite expensive liability insurance from them.
Kier Kondo is on Cozumel which says it all for us. We are not in the busy tourist area. We enjoy quiet beach time and love to snorkel many areas on the island. The food on the island is affordable and (too) delicious. Children enjoy the heated pools and beach with their family. We do not have the night life for your young adults. Scuba is world famous here, but for you nonwater people there is golf, touring, shopping, fishing, and submarines! Enjoy long walks on the beach. We enjoyed the loggerhead turtles hatching in August! They are hatching from July through November! We also swam with the whale sharks north of Cancun one summer ! SPECTACULAR!
