Situated in the heart of it all! This charming 2 bedroom, 1 bath home, with a private backyard and two off-street parking spaces, is just up the hill from Barton Springs Pool and Zilker Park. It's walkable to numerous restaurants and bars and close to restaurants, bars, grocery stores and entertainment venues. Everyone who has seen the home or lived here loves it. I furnished the property as if I might live there. I've been told it feels like it has that personal touch. I only do 30-day or more length rentals. Some people stay while they look for the perfect house, others visit Austin during the winters and some just come to check out our cool city for a few months. All in all, people don't want to leave. Three of my former tenants have loved it so much they've purchased homes in the neighborhood. I'm very thankful for all the wonderful people I've had the fortune of hosting! Please let me know if there's any additional information I can provide / anything I can help you with. Have a great day!

About Ole, Owner/Agent, Realty Austin
I came to Austin to get my MBA at UT and, while I can't say I never left (I did - I was in Chicago and then Europe for three years), I am happy to say Austin has been home since 2004. I'm a Realtor so feel free to ask me any questions you have about our fair city and I'll do my best to answer.
Ole, Owner/Agent, Realty Austin purchased this House in 2004
Why Ole, Owner/Agent, Realty Austin chose Zilker
This was the first home I ever bought and the exact neighborhood I wanted. After work, I would peruse the streets regularly for new For Sale signs. I grabbed the property before it ever went on the market. Now that I'm a Realtor, I know how lucky I was!
What makes this House unique

An Austin Jewel
We didn't want to leave! Ole, the owner, is incredibly attentive and intuitive. The small Zilker-bungalow is filled with nice touches that feel like you're home. Fully stocked, clean, and bright, you couldn't feel more comfortable in this two-bedroom jewel. Plus, there's a new Weber grill, two cast-iron tables and chairs, along with an abundance of light. Gorgeous cactus line the driveway, Google Fiber makes the internet swift, and what could be better than knowing you're in a home filled with wonderful memories from the visitors before you. If you're looking for an authentic Texas experience in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Austin, stay here!
We really enjoyed our two month stay at this super cute house in Zilker. Ole, the owner, was very easy to work with and prompt with replies. We loved the location in Austin- so close to downtown, fantastic restaurants in 78704, ease to the main roads, etc... The new downtown library, Zilker park, cultural events at the Long and Parmer centers and mothership of all Whole Foods are very near. We are avid runners and walkers and loved the Zilker neighborhood and close proximity to the Lady Bird Lake Trail. Ole has really thought of everything with a good selection of pots and pans, linens, silverware, starter set of toiletries, ziplock bags, garbage bags, etc... We would for sure recommend this property! Ole- thanks again!
Fun on Ford Street
Really cute house in one of the neatest streets in Austin. Ole was extremely responsive and friendly. Great parks nearby and close to limitless fun on S. Lamar. We definitely recommend.
I'm a travel nurse, and my roommate and I loved living here during our 15 week assignment in Austin. The house was very clean and looked just as advertised in the pictures. Great location. Ole was always available for any questions or concerns that we had during our stay. Definitely recommend!
Ideal Austin base
This is a great property, in a great location, and Ole is a great owner.
We moved from Australia to Austin in Nov 2016 and stayed here for a month, using it as a base to start our new life. And our experience couldn't have been better.
Before we arrived, Ole was responsive, accommodating and helpful, answering all our questions, which continued throughout our stay. Ole greeted us at the house on the first day, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to settle into Austin.
The location is fantastic with great coffee, food and music all within walking distance. There are several buses on Lamar that can take you downtown or across town, and everything is within easy cycling distance.
The house itself is comfortable, warm and easy to relax in. If you can resist the temptation of nearby restaurants and cafes and want to self-cater, the kitchen is fully equipped and easy to work in. The main bedroom is large, the bed comfortable and there is abundant closet space. There's also a desk, so it's easy to set up for work and be comfortable.
The internet connection was reliable and fast - Google Fiber.
There were two problems in the house during our stay - a faulty toaster, and a problem with a fan - and Ole dealt with both quickly and without any inconvenience.
The house and Ole stand head and shoulders above other holiday lets.
We have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.
Great location! Great property manager!
This is a great little house in Zilker, a charming neighborhood in the heart of Austin. Uchi, Barlata, the Austin Beer Garden and Brown's BBQ -- there are more great restaurants just down the street than I can list! Ole is a terrific host, helpful and accommodating. The listing description is accurate, as the property is well maintained, and the air conditioning is great -- a must for Austin summers! I would definitely recommend this listing to friends and relatives.
78704 is considered one of the most walkable zip codes in Austin and Zilker has the added bonus of being right next to Zilker Park and Barton Springs pool… two major Austin destinations.
This location is within walking distance to:
Zilker Park…. i.e. Austin City Music Festival, Blues on the Green, Austin's Ladybird Lake Hike & Bike Trail
Barton Springs - an Austin treasure / natural spring pool that's a great way to beat the heat or get some laps in. Barton Springs is considered a magical / holy place by many.
Eating establishments all along Barton Springs… restaurants such as Chuy's and Austin Java. During the summers, Shady Grove hosts 'Unplugged at the Grove' (different bands outdoors) on Thursdays.
While many will choose to hop in a car to head downtown, Whole Foods, for example, is completely within walking distance of this location. Whole Foods is a hot Austin destination is well. Not only is it a grocery store, but there are an abundance of ready-made and made-on-the-spot foods for different mealtimes and snacks. Can you say gelato? Ah….
Along S. Lamar you'll find:
Numerous restaurants, such as Uchi for sushi, Olivia's (which has made numerous local and national foodie lists) and the Black Sheep (also a great place for beer selections)
The Saxon Pub, a long-term, well-known establishment for music
Shopping of all kinds (home decor, clothing, some vintage.)
A local elementary school and local park basketball court, playground, and tennis courts
Venture out a bit further to S. 1st and S. Congress for more:
Restaurants , some examples are Guero's, Vespaio and S. Congress Cafe
Entertainment venues like the Continental Club and Continental Club Gallery
Austin's favorite coffee shop... Jo's
Like S. Lamar, shopping galore… Shopping such as:
Antiques, collectibles and vintage items at the internationally known (and packed to the gills) Uncommon Objects
Vintage and new clothing
Hotel San Jose sitting snack and sip area by the pool
Zilker has easy access to MoPac freeway and I35, Ben White (290/71) and 360/Bee Caves are a short distance from Zilker.
Another thing I love about this location is just walking through the neighborhood and viewing the established pecan and oak trees, old 40's bungalows and 50's small ranchers and new architecture that's popping up. It's a great place to walk your dog, for example.
