Perfect for a wedding or any beach getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location are the 3 words or this cozy property. Walk a block, you're at the beautiful Redondo beachfront. Walk 4-5 blocks you have your choice of tons of restaurants AND Trader Joe's at Riviera Village. Kendall and Sam are excellent hosts--there is parking (critical in any CA beach town) behind the house and it is quiet, comfortable and perfect for us as we were there for our daughter's wedding in Palos Verdes. Full kitchen, lots of movies to watch, a private entrance and outdoor space--what more could you want? My husband and I had a great time--and only 25 minutes from LAX! We hope we can come back very soon! Highly recommended.

Cottage in Redondo Beach July / August 2016

  • 3 of 5

The area is great and only a few minutes walk to the beach. It is also very quiet, both during the day and in the evening -- unless the apartment next door is also rented out, then unfortunately you will hear everything they do as there is no insulation between apartments, but if it is not rented it is very nice and quiet.

The house is very hot (even when there was a very nice cool breeze outside!) ... And there is only aircon in the bedroom (which does not seem to function very well either). There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom, but a very noisy one (because it was badly mounted) in the living room, so the house is only partly air-conditioned and can be quite hot and uncomfortable.

The internet is very slow (as others have already commented), and it often breaks which can be annoying.

In total our price was above US$ 300 per day which considering above is not really value for money. The landlady repeated several times that we could deal directly with her next time and not through the agency (to reduce her agency fee). Anyhow I would only even consider renting again if the property next door is not rented out, and this is agreed upon beforehand.

Owner's Response: Yes the location is great as well as the cottage. Frank sorry it did not meet your expectations. You and your boyfriend were giving the opportunity to rent the whole place in a discounted rate because of your concerns, but you rejected it. As far as the noise the owners take pride of detail when they remodeled in placing installations in the walls and also placing sound board. You didn't mention that we brought you extra floor fans, and as far as the A/C you did not know how to operate (you could of asked). Funny how much you said you loved the place and did not have any complaints when we met. I did mention once that you could book in the future with us so YOU could save on service fees. All the lotions, potions and powder you left behind took the cleaning ladies twice as long to clean the place. obviously it was not a good fit for either of us, all of our guest love the place and we love them. Quiet Cottage Near The Beach!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent location near the beach with comfortable beds, good water pressure, amazing parking location, washer/dryer and slow/medium inet access. Sam was very helpful and provided bikes for an additional fee. I feel bad that we overslept and left a bit of a mess. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for something in a quiet neighborhood near the beach!

We would come back!

  • 5 of 5

We had the one bedroom for 4 nights and had 3 adults! Samantha and Kendall went above and beyond in getting us settled in.

I found the cottage very clean and in great shape!

A beautiful queen size air mattress was provided for our daughter.

In regards to the beach! One block down and you are there!

Everything was provided including great bicycles, complete with locks and helmets! All brought to us and they even picked them up for the return!. A great rate for 3 days for 3 bikes.

The owners are so very attentive and helpful. It made our experience even nicer, knowing that Samantha and Kendall were available.

Definitely a great memory and yes we would come back!

Warmest Regards,

Caroline H. Scanlan

We had an amazing stay at this site and were quite pleased with most everything. It was neat and clean and had most everything you would need from a rental home. We rented both bedrooms and it was a much larger space than we expected with clean and up dated bathrooms and comfortable living space. we particularly enjoyed the outdoor space with our two kids and having friends over for dinner there. You do have to pay extra to use the grill and let them know ahead of time. But its a very small fee (was it $20-25 bucks or something) and worth it if that's what you're looking for. the location is PERFECT. walking distance to everything, or at the least a very short drive to restaurants, trader joes, starbucks etc. The beach is gorgeous and walking distance - you can feel the beach air from the rental.

It confused us at first b/c the rental unit is tucked BEHIND the house on the main street, so you cant see it from the street, but that makes it all the more private and enjoyable. We loved that surprise feature!

The only thing i'll warn potential renters about, if it's even important to you, is the cable options on the TV are not great. It's satellite I think and we got more Korean and Vietnamese channels than anything else. And the connection's not great either so when you do find something you want to watch it cuts in and out. There is a TV in the living room and in the smaller bedroom but not the master. LOTS of DVD options which was cool. This is such a small issue, it wouldn't keep us from renting it again. Who vacations for TV time anyway?!

The renter is very available and helpful and kind, which always helps!

Enjoy your stay, you wont regret it!!

Thank you Sam!

  • 4 of 5

We had a long over due family vacation to LA and had the pleasure to stay in Sam's Bungalow in redando beach. The house was clean, quiet, nice yard for the kiddos to run around on. The property was well located with easy beach access and access to the restaurants and shops. The beds were comfortable and the furniture was in good repair.

In sum, we had a great time and look forward to a return trip.

Sam was very responsive to questions and the checkin and check out was very easy.
