This quiet 3 bedroom flat has a large roof terrace on the floor above with dining, food prep & barbecue. The views from the flat are of the Topkapki Palace and the Bosphorus. The views from the roof terrace are simply AMAZING!
This flat is charming with hardwood floors and antique Turkish tiles. There is Turkish art throughout the flat. There is central heat and 2 air conditioning units, plus ceiling fans throughout.
An antique wood entry door leads from the hall into the dining room which is lined in antique Turkish tiles.
There is an antique dining table which can seat up to 8 with leaves pulled out, plus a table and 2 stools in the kitchen for taking coffee. Most of our guests choose to have their meals on the roof terrace just one flight of stairs above.
Just off the dining room is the ample, modern kitchen with black granite counter top and small table with stools. It is fully supplied with cooking utensils and appliances. If there is anything that you need in addition to what is supplied, please just ask.
There are 3 bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a separate air conditioning unit, queen sized bed, a large window, wood plank floors, closet space and shelves.
The second bedroom also has wide wood plank floors, a double bed, a Turkish hand stitched bedspread, ceiling fan, and bookshelf.
The third bedroom is in an alcove off the salon with 2 single beds, and pine floors.
There are 2 bathrooms: One is large and lined in marble and includes a marble basin, antique mirror, large marble shower & washing machine & shelves. The second bathroom is lined in antique Turkish tiles and contains the toilet.
The salon has a view of the Bosphorus and Topkapki Palace in Sultanahmet. Pine floors, large windows on 2 walls, a flat screen TV with satellite coverage, a landline telephone, and air conditioning.
You can rent this flat alone or combine with one of our other 2 flats on the same floor and/or the studio flat just above this apartment.
I am a travel writer who has selected apartments in 'real' neighborhoods located near but not in heavily touristed areas, so that you may experience authentic Istanbul with a view! The November 2015 issue of Conde Naste Traveler Magazine listed this neighborhood as one of the best places in Istanbul to stay and visit.
There is a charming Turkish cafe in the lobby of the building. Room service with just a call! Excellent food for low prices. And cafes all around. Galata Tower is just 1 city block away. The newest happening area is Karakoy, a short walk from this flat.
The location of this flat just one city block from Galata Tower, is excellent for dining and entertainment and easy access to all the sites. You can see many of the sites from the roof terrace! You can walk down the hill and catch the tram to the Old City or walk across the Galata Bridge to the Egyptian Spice Market and either take the tram to Sultanahmet or walk.
If you walk the opposite direction, you will find Galata Tower, and many restaurant and boutique lined alleys. A bit further up hill, takes you to Istiklal Avenue, the center of Istanbul's nightlife and dining.
Terrace Two sleeps 6 in beds (one bed is a double, one queen, one king/or 2 twins). You can sleep 8 in this flat if you use the sofa couch, but it is most comfortable for up to 6. Much larger groups can be accommodated by combining with one of our other flats.
Great neighborhood! You can steer clear of the carpet salesmen and tour guides while being close enough to Sultanahmet to visit when you want to. Best of all you can sit on the roof terrace and enjoy a view of Sultanahmet that is unsurpassed. All around you are surrounded with Turkish charm - a mix of modern and traditional.
The shared rooftop terrace includes a sink and food prep area with running water, a grill and a large outdoor seating area for dining and entertaining under the stars surrounded by a picture perfect postcard view of old Istanbul and the regal Bosphorus.
This flat is located on the 5th floor - no elevator. Our guests tell us it is worth the climb for the views. Return home more fit than when you arrived!
The area and building are safe. And the views are just about the best you'll find anywhere in the city.
You'll love this flat!
Rates are for up to 4 guests. Each additional guest is $15 more per night.
Refunds for deposits or balance payments after they have been paid are refundable ONLY if we are able to fill the flat for your dates with another guest - in which case we are happy to issue you a full refund for any funds paid!

Robin Sparks purchased this apartment in 2007
Love this area. Bustling with activity, perfectly located in the center of everything one might want to do in Istanbul. There is a charming Turkish cafe in the lobby from which you can order room service during the hours they are open. A historical area that is slowly being gentrified and retains just enough 'old' Istanbul while giving options for the best dining and entertainment in Istanbul. Bustling, fun and exciting area, while the apartment itself is very quiet.
Views, and close proximity to all the sites. I love being able to walk everywhere from here - or take a quick easy (and cheap) cab ride or tram to wherever I want to go. And the stairs to the flat insure that I leave Istanbul in better physical shape than when I arrived!
This apartment was amazing and exactly like the photos-this doesn\'t always happen! We were six and had ample room, it was clean and fresh and a great location with the tram at the bottom of the street, and then just a bit further across the Galata bridge is the metro line. We mostly ate out so didn't use the kitchen much but it had all you would need. The bathroom was nice-not too much room but shower was huge compared to some, and it was nice having a seperate toilet.
Can't think of anything except the kids would have liked a lift for the 5 flights of stairs!
We spent 4 days in the apartment on our first trip to Istanbul and it couldn't have been better.
The location is great, right in the thick of things and doesn't feel touristy. It's easy enough to get to the trams and all around the city. It's a short walk to Istiklal Caddesi and all the shops and restaurants there.
This is definitely a great base to explore the city and we are already planning our return!
Just be warned the stairs are quite a climb so be prepared and down pack too much to lug up them!
We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights and loved the location. The apartment had great views of the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, and Topaki Palace also very close to public transport. It was clean and we were met by a very friendly and helpful manager. The only disadvantage was the stairs but we are a fit family so it did not bother us too much. Highly recommend it is in a great neighbourhood.
We stayed in the large apartment for eight days with two young children aged 6 & 9 years old. Davide the manager was always responsive arranged an airport transfer. When we arrived at the airport we had to wait about an hour to find out who has come to pick us up which was not ideal after a long flight. The location of the apartment was great because all the major tourist attractions were close-by. The view is very nice from the roof terrace but you have to be extremely fit because the location of the apartment is up on the hilly road plus it's on the 5th floor. After a long day out we always dreaded to return to the flat. The toilet in the apartment definitely needs a complete makeover because the rest of the apartment is up-to the standard. We had plenty of time to explore Istanbul City & the location of the apartment made it easier for us.
Very nice contact via email. Appartment as described! Clean, well maintained, very good location, beautiful terrace, breathtaking view. Manager very helpful. I We would love to come back!!! And we recommend this appartment to all our friends!
We are a small group of 6 persons (2 couples and 2 women) and we stayed in flat 2 and flat 4 for 9 nights in August 2013. We had a wonderful time there. The flats are spacious and well -maintained. The managers, Elif and Davide and the owner, Robin, were very helpful and answered all questions and concerns in several e-mails we wrote before our arrival.
The building is a typical Istanbul house in a very good location close to restaurants and shops. But there is one thing to mention - there is no elevator. You have to be in a good condition to walk up and down 5 floors several times during the stay. But after some days of doing this daily exercise you`ll feel fit.
But the best of the flats is the gorgeous view from the rooftop terrace. We didn`t spend much time in the apartments because of the beautiful terrace. There is enough room for everybody. Maybe the owner of the flats could put one or two tables and some chairs onto the terrace for more people to sit in the morning at breakfast time or in the evening at sunset.
We recommend this property to our friends and we`ll stay there again when we go to Istanbul.
Sit on the rooftop terrace and enjoy the views up and down the Bosphorus and across the Golden Horn to the Old City. There is a charming Turkish cafe in the lobby from which you can order room service A few minutes walk to the best dining and entertainment in Istanbul. A few tram stops away from the Old City. On a hill near Galata Tower. The flat has views of the Bosphorus and Topkapki Palace in one direction, and the street leading up to Galata Tower/Square in the other. From the roof terrace on the floor above, sit back and view the mosque-studded skyline of Sultanahmet and views across the Bosphorus to Asia, the Marmara Sea, Golden Horn and more. We have tables, chairs, umbrellas, a grill, and a food prep area with running water on the large shared (with 4 other flats) roof terrace.
