Very nice place.
Easy process. Owners very personable.
A quiet spot in the woods
This cozy spot in the woods provides a nice escape from the bustling towns one is likely to tour in the area. Well equipped including access to a washer/dryer. As others have noted the slanting roof can be a challenge to anyone over 5'7". Also in the fall when it gets dark sooner it can be a bit of a challenge to find at night but Google maps provides decent directions. Len is a very welcoming host.
A wonderful setting, and very comfortable accomodations.
My wife and I enjoyed the opportunity to enjoy the setting, sitting down on the dock reading in the evening, and enjoying a fire by the fire ring. We found the setting to be a peaceful, relaxing place to retire, and enjoy each others company.
A lovely get away
Really appreciated meeting Len on check in, and having him get us set up. The next day we used the Kayaks and spent 2 + hours including sunset on the Pond. A very well appointed "cottage" and experience. We are letting our friends know about this gem.
Perfect in every way!!!
We can not express enough how much we enjoyed our stay at this property. The owners, Len and Pam, were in touch with us before our stay and Len met us upon arrival. The property exceeded our expectations. It was clean, well-appointed with everything you could need and just as cozy as could be. I think the bed was even more comfortable than my own...and I really like my bed. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting Maine. It is close enough to visit all of the main attractions, i.e., Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, etc. yet secluded if you just want a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. We will definitely rent here again in the future!
We thank you for the wonderful review! I enjoyed having you stay at our cottage and was glad to share it with great guests like you and Luthor.
The cabin was so cute & had everything we needed. Wasn’t far from all the places we wanted to visit. Bar Harbor, whale watching your, Acadia National Park. Wish we were staying longer and had more time to enjoy the area. Only downfall is the hairdryer was broke.
Thanks for letting me know about the hairdryer. I usually check that out as it is a necessary appliance! Thanks for the great review. Thank you for being a great steward of our property. Pam and Len Haseltine
Must see is the new Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory in Bucksport associated with the historical Fort Knox State Park. For those interested in hiking, there is nearby Great Pond Mountain Wildlife Area Area. The area is also very close to Bar Harbor and Acadia national park. The nearby Big ChickenBarn is a mecca for antiques. Bucksport and Ellsworth , both nearby, have many fine restaurants. Maine is known for its seafood and there are many outdoor areas where lobsters are boiled in wood fired pots.
