This house was originally built in the 1950's by my father for my grandmother. My grandmother chose this site because of the lovely woods, nearby streams and a 150 year old white oak tree that now stands guard in the garden. I later expanded the house and added an upstairs for my children and myself when I used the house for weekends in the 1990's.

The property is very peaceful. No cars or sirens can be heard. Birds abound in the woods and across the dirt road that passes by the house are duckponds filled with a variety of rare species. When the wind blows just so. you can sometimes hear a Trumpeter Swan call.........
Came here again after last year's visit. That should say it all. The house is large and spacious, enough room for all not to be in each other's way, yet close enough. House, pool, grounds -- all lovely. Close to any amenities you might need, and Hilary is response to any issues that may come up. Thanks again!
Hillary was also amazing, if we had any questions or issues, she was only a phone call away. The pool was so warm and wonderful. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you Hillary!
We went to the house with my kids and friends to celebrate my birthday. The house it's beautiful and would be happy to go back again as we really enjoy the proximity to Mohauk mountain but during our stay the fridge wasn't broken and all the food including my cake was ruined. The manager was responsive and did bring us colers with ice and she replace the milk but having to spend 3 days without fridge wasn't ideal during our stay. They said they will compensate us with a discount but somehow after 5 months we are still waiting....
This is a wonderful house for family get togethers! Secluded and surrounded by beautiful yard, fields and woods yet close to markets, restaurants and Litchfield town center. Also, close to parks and lakes.
The rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished. Bathrooms are large, clean and updated. The large eat-in kitchen has a delightful sunroom for more casual eating and socializing.
Hilary was very responsive to any of our questions and requests. Could not be more delighted with our stay and will look forward to returning!
Great house nestled back in the woods with a charming country setting. House was equipped with all the essentials, a lot of rooms to congregate in. Totally agree with a previous review that the photos do not justify the real thing. We would definitely stay here again next year!
The house was very clean and accommodated for all of our needs. House was close to market, restaurants, etc but also in a nice, secluded area surrounded by nature. Property owner is very welcoming, helpful, and easy to work with. Would definitely do business with again.
The Litchfield Hills are known for their historic town greens, historic colonial architecture, and stunning fall foliage.
