Our family has lived in the Wichita area for many years. Our previous homes were overseas while stationed in the Air Force, and on the east coast in South Carolina. We have enjoyed living in the Wichita area, a community with lots to offer, but not as hectic as some of the larger cities.
Our family enjoys traveling and staying in rental homes in places that we visit while traveling. Using the HomeAway rental site has been a great experience for us, and has made our vacations so memorable, compared to staying in a hotel. We decided it would be good to offer a home for rent in the Wichita area. Our guests, travelers, and business clientele, can experience Wichita and enjoy staying in a 'home away from home'. It is our desire to make our guests as comfortable as possible while staying or living in Wichita.
Meredith Gillman purchased this house in 2012
The experience of staying in our home helps you to feel more connected to our city and to understand more of what it would be like to live in the Wichita area. Our home is in a safe, private community with great neighbors. We have walking trails, small lakes to fish in, and a pool in the summer season. If you are a YMCA member, we have a beautiful Y located in the nearby community of Andover. There is so much to see and do in the Wichita area, and why not be as comfortable as if you were living in your own home while visiting.
Our subdivision, with its country-like feel, has a pool in season, walking/hiking trails, and catch and release fishing. The community of Andover is close by with desirable restaurants and a very nice grocery store, Dillion's MarketPlace. There are also very nice parks and a beautiful library in Andover. The city of Wichita is easy to get around and offers so much to do with it's 8 shopping districts, 17 local festivals, 22 live theatres, 28 art galleries, 33 museums and 1000 plus restaurants. We are close to all areas of Wichita, on the easily accessible highways.
We stayed there a couple of weeks ago when had a doctor appointment. It was very nicely furnished and on a quiet culdesac area. We lacked for nothing and will say that Meredith and her husband treated us very nicely while there. You will be glad to stay here. Beds are very comfortable and to me that is very important!
This was our second stay at this wonderful home. Very comfortable and great location. Far enough out of town to feel the peace and tranquility of the countryside yet close enough to be with fifteen minutes of everything. We will return. Owner is very friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay.
We had a great time staying here. It was just outside of town to where it was quiet but close enough to everything you need. Nice house with plenty of garage space in a very nice neighborhood. We had a great time and was great place to stay.
Our family met in Wichita for a Thanksgiving reunion at the home. The home was everything we expected, well furnished, comfortable and clean. Before we arrived we asked if there was a roasting pan big enough for a turkey and any additional chairs. They were all waiting for us when we opened the door! We couldn't have asked for a nicer experience (except for a double oven).
Great experience and extremely accommodating!
This was the halfway meeting place for the four of us from different states and we had so much fun! The house was clean, and furnished with nice furniture; it was as advertised on the website. The owners provided all necessities plus much more--muffins, games, magazines, etc. We loved being in this home rather than a hotel--could be together the whole time and cook meals. It was easy to find shopping areas close by. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us and we will recommend this property to others.
My husband and I recently stayed here with our two adult children while visiting family in the area. This beautiful home is clean, well maintained and in a safe neighborhood on the very outskirts of Wichita.
Meredith made sure we had everything we needed and then some.
We relaxed on the back patio in the evenings to beautiful sunsets, had a bluebird visit us daily at the kitchen window, and there were wild turkeys showing off in the field behind the house!
This home provided us with the perfect place to stay, we sure hope it is available the next time we travel back to Kansas. We have already recommended this home to friends and family.
Wichita is awesome! It is a city with many things to do and a good stopping place as you travel north, south, east or west with its location in the south central U.S.
There are restaurants for all tastes, 2 large malls, unique shopping areas, the award winning Sedgwick County Zoo, and a beautiful botanical garden named Botanica. Some of the museums in Wichita are Old Cowtown, Exploration Place, Wichita Art Museum, Museum of World Treasures and Kansas Aviation Museum to name a few
Not too far away lakes, Cheney and El Dorado State Parks are also places to visit. Fifteen minutes away, Sand Creek Station is in the top 25 of the best municipal golf courses in the nation. We are also very close to Flint Hills National Golf Course.
Wichita boast several fantastic YMCAs, one which is located close to our home.We have roller and ice skating rinks, mini golf courses, and Star Lite Drivein Theatre for the children and adults. There is also Intrust Bank Arena, and Hartman Arena where you can purchase tickets to the many attractions. Then there is the world famous Orpheum Theatre. Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre, and Cabaret Old Town. We have Frog Holler Paintball and laser tag. Not too far from Wichita is Tanganyika Wildlife Park and Hutchinson with its Salt Mine Underground Museum and
Kansas Cosmosphere Space Museum. These are just some of things to do in Wichita area. So spend some time in the middle of the country and experience Wichita.
