Enjoyed the area and the exceptional
Porch and view.
The long well maintained gravel driveway must of cost the owner a fortune to make.
My Front wheel drive Buick Sedan negotiated it with no problem, even
In pouring rain.
Cabin in the woods
If you are looking to get away to a cabin in the woods, this is the cabin for you. A few considerations: You have to drive across two steams - a car with low clearance is probably not ideal; be ready to pack your trash out - if you bring a pup this means you are carrying bags of poo in your car for about a 30 - 40 min drive - Be prepared; the upstairs rooms are HOT during the summer during the day - windows closed or open, expect to be hot. It will cool down nicely as the sun sets. Last, but not least, the woods are alive with night - time music. If you are a person who doesn't enjoy frogs, toads, owls, katydids, crickets, etc. this is not the cabin for you. We loved it - but definitely did not enjoy the packing out of the trash.
We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful cabin. Heading to the house, it was cool going over the baby creeks. Going up to the cabin you have two options - a straight up or a windy road. I highly recommend a 4x4 for the straight up - we were able to do it in a ram 1500 2 wheel drive, but it definitely took an experience driver. We recommend the windy route and arrive during the day for the first time. Other than that, the view was amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and the view & sounds of nature. We regret not staying one more night to enjoy the house. Truly a wonderful cabin in a wonderful area. Be sure to go hike at pickers nose, not too far from the house.
Loved this welcoming cabin!
We enjoyed our stay so much. Views were breathtaking. I loved the queen bed upstairs and didn’t want to get out of it. Bathrooms so clean and kitchen had everything we needed. Well stocked and we didn’t need to buy anything. Internet and wi go spotty so bring a paper map. Will return.
Second stay at this beautiful home. High mountain top view, with room for 6. Completely "stocked"...just bring the groceries! Porch great for party, or quiet reading. Hope to return soon.
You are so kind, I hope it was cooler "up there" on the mountain!
The house was great . The view out of the front porch toward the mountains was nonending and gorgeous. Mountain after mountain and valley after valley. Very isolated except for one neighbor down below. The drive up to the house once you leave the paved was exciting. Driving it in my Jeep made it even more fun especially crossing the two shallow streams. If I was to criticize anything it would be the bath and kitchen linens. This is my second rental thru Home Away and I have learned to take my own towel and wash cloth if I want quality. Used hotel linens come to mind. I’ve also found that Home Away’s fees are high.
Thank you for that, we will purchase new towels for bath and kitchen. You must be a hardy guy, that is a trek up that mountain!
