Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved the house and the backyard.View is beautiful, you can see river from almost all the rooms in the house. We couldn't really swim in the river because the weather was not cooperating, it was cool and cloudy most of the week, but we waded and crossed to the other side one day, water was very pleasant, not too cold.Backyard is very peaceful and relaxing,we had cofee at the deck overlooking redwood trees, berry bushes and beautiful river every morning. We used the firepit most nights, owners provided plenty of wood and fire starter. House is very comfortable, beds are great, kitchen is well equipped with lots of extras, like spices, condiments, etc.Location is great, close to ocean and great hiking. Don't miss Howland Hill Rd and Whaleshead beach and its forest trail.Too bad we couldn't stay longer. Definitely worth almost 8 hour drive, gorgeous area to visit.

The River House

  • 5 of 5

Big house right on the River! Great stay! Room for 2 families, Loved the deck overlooking the River, the fire pit at night. We hiked in the Redwoods and also took a trip to Fern Canyon. Got some fresh seafood just over the Oregon border and grilled it at the house. I would highly recommend this house

Beautiful !

  • 4 of 5

This is a beautiful place to just sit and watch the river roll by from the warmth of a cozy living room. The owners have went out of their way to make sure that all the little comforts are there for you. The beds were comfortable and the home was more spacious than it appeared in the pictures. Thank you for the use of your lovely home.
