I am American and my sister, who lives nearby, is an art historian. She can lecture on Spanish art and Spanish Jewish art.
The Owner purchased this villa in 1994
We chose this area because of the gorgeous rolling hills and its proximity to France, the beach and just 1 hour from Barcelona. Girona is just 20 minutes away and its medieval-Jewish quarter is quite a jewel.
The property has such ample space both inside and outside that it makes it ideal from groups and family reunions. Often times the guests ask me to join them for a glass of wine and it ends up being a lecture on the history of Spain, culture and art.
We spent a wonderful week in the Mas talaia villa. My kids are still talking about it and ask me repeatedly to come back. The house is beautiful, clean, spacious and so charming. We were 4 families with kids, it was very confortable. The kitchen is great, we could all gather around the very convivial central island. The outdoor area is amazing, very very big with a lot of different spaces, one for the ping pong table, other one with the basket ball hoop, other with a socker field, then the swimming pool and so on. We could spend the whole day there without feeling the need to go out. Cindy was so welcoming and helpful. She helped us booking tables in the restaurants a boat trip, showed us all the grocery shops, she even came with us the 1st time to help us. She arranged as well a great cook who came several evenings to the villa to prepare dinner for us, it was so pleasant. We highly recommand a stay in this villa, you will feel so peacefull and relax and will never want to leave this beautiful place.
I visited this beautifully restored farmhouse with my girlfriends. The grounds are lovely, the rooms luxurious yet cozy. The owner's sister made sure our stay was perfect by showing us where to buy local farm fresh foods and providing an itinerary for our stay. She personally escorted and gave expert information on the art and cultural wonders of Catolonian. Cindy is an American art historian married to a Catalan. You cannot find anything better!
